1. Hi all! First gig for my new band tonight, headlining at B2 @ The Brickmakers in Norwich. 3 great bands, free entry... We are all original grungerock, think Smashing Pumpkins meets Clutch and you aint far off. First band at 8pm, come and see something a bit different ;-)
2. I know someone on here who really really REALLY wants this and keeps talking about it... I think i need to give him a nudge
3.
That was at 1/3 with one rs210
Hahah, really? Playing your basically convinced me to buy mine Someone should snap this up, a mega amp, but do take care around any breakable glass
4. If you pick up a B2RE and stick a BSP or SVP in front of it you'll nail it just beautifully.
5. My 2011 jetglo Ric had paint falling off issues, sent it back to the shop and got my money back. No excuses for a firm to charge £1700+ for an instrument that cant keep its coat on! I think George (geofio) has had one recently (also jetglo... Hmmm!). Certainly wouldnt buy a new jetglo Ric now. Havent heard of any other colour finishes being affected?
6. This is the exact TC i used and blew one of the light bulbs in the ceiling out at the last bass bash i went to.... Testament to the power of this amp!
7.
After clean up and set up
Wow! You dont see them very often...
8. If i had £750 at the moment i would certainly be throwing it your way dear sir... Sadly I dont, but im sure this wont hang around long... GLWTS!
9.
dont be put off by the bass being made in mexico!!! i think the mexico thing, is in the past, as good as any jap/usa bass.
I agree with George here. My Mex Geddy played significantly better than any new USA bass they had in the shop...
10. Ooooh... Tempting to offer a px with my Precision on this... But its a rosewood one... And i live nowhere near Derby
11.
WHAT A FANTASTIC GIFTED BASS PLAYER.............HE'S DEFINITELY IN MY TOP 3.
What.... As in... "Best ever?" Really?
12. I think I can answer this one, being a 4003 user with a 210 and a 212! Are you using the 4003 in the classic "Ric" style, ie. shedloads of treble on bridge pickup? If so use the 210, it seems more sensitive to my ears for those treble frequencies you want to be prominent in your sound. If you are going for mid position or a full neck PU bass sound, try the 212. I generally go for the 210 with my sound, seems to fit it well (worth noting I use the Staccato '51 which has a bit more treble scoop in it anyway) but the 212 certainly wont let you down either. Or better... get both and stack 'em
13. I just dont get the point of it... like others have said here theres clearly something there thats intriguing but as songs they just dont stand up. I like the woman's voice too, very Tracey Thorn-esque. A very very weird choice to have to end a festival on - particuarly since the Smashing Pumpkins were before them on the lineup and would have finished it significantly better
14. Id give a Geddy Lee Jazz a run out... Fantastic thin neck on them, mine is splendid
15. Lovely...and a great price
16. I had one of these, awesome. Theyre only 8ohm and the 10in acts like a horn. Stick a 2x10 on top and you have an epic set up that can fill a room beautifully, i used mine for years doing rock gigs... Cheap as chips as well. And i do like chips.
17. Oh and your avatar is awesome
18. Absolute barg, i love mine. The best neck ive ever played on a bass, so easy to plunk on.
19. Cant see that Cliff Burton has been mentioned? Dear lord.... Ok...ill go with Cliff Burton JPJ JJ Burnel Geezer Butler Krist Novoselic Stuart Zender Squarepusher Sting I think that will do for now...
20. Its all Dood's fault that im here, if I remember correctly?
21. Its not bad, very Motorheadyyyy if you ask me. I like the chap and i hope he does well.
22. I definitely wouldnt deal with them directly, and i actually like Rics! The only new Ric ive ever had from new had to go back to the shop and me getting my money back due to the paint shearing off the body near the bridge after a month's use. Certainly would thnk twice about ever buying a new one. And given Hall's recent shenanigans i would rather buy second hand. Interestingly one of the bridge pins fell out of that bass as well... QC at Ric appears to be poor which is a shame as the bass itself was an absolute delight to play (as Dood will testify to after giving it a workout when i bought it)
23. I really think you should giveup on Rics George... You've been through more Rics than my local shop has ever had!
24. Its absolutely delightful... but since ive spent the money id earmarked for this on my current BG 4003 I cant entertain buying it! Im sure someone will be extremely happy with this, beautiful example of a classic bass in (IMO) the best colour you can get. GLWTS!
