Tuner - Amp
Hi, I need your help please.... I have ABM500EVOII and tuner Korg DTR1000.... is it possible to connect tuner directly to the "input line" or any other inputs on the rear side or not.... if not please tell me what is the meaning of "input line".... thanks for your answers.... cheers gor
http://www.ashdownmusic.com/tech/manuals/ASHDOWN_USER_MANUAL_2012.pdf Basically, 'no'; the line input isn't suitable for a bass - the manual says: LINE IN This Jack input socket allows you to connect an external sound device (i.e Mp3 player, iPod etc.) using a cable (not supplied.)
  2.
And Entwistle most of the time sounds like he's bored stiff and desperately trying to entertain himself.
Harsh. 'Live at Leeds' sounds more like he's an unstoppable force of nature trying to rein himself in...much like Jimi in fact
  3.
depending on where you are.
From the OP's sig, I'd guess North Yorkshire moors somewhere? Drove over Blubberhouses in dense fog last weekend and it was definitely American Werewolf territory...
  4.
Haha love it and very true I know It'll come!! I considered buying a mexican P bass to do it too but I thought bolllox to it lets get it done. All for £50 at my local tech! Bargain! Who needs a back pickup eh!
You might enjoy a piezo in the bridge. I tried this cheapo http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BASS-BRIDGE-BUILT-IN-PIEZO-PICKUP-ACOUSTIC-GOLD-NEW-A29-/330692175797?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item4cfeca27b5 it blends very happily with a P pickup for a nice woody sound
  5.
ooh tempting...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Whbc5YJz7OU
  6. I love Aldi...these are £10 from Maplin
  7.
It dpends on the question surely. If its 'What do you do for a living?' The reply might be different, but if its what do you play ? then it might be I'm a Bass Player. Otherwise my ability to play chopsticks would make me a Pianist, and I had violin lessons when I was 11, so if I can still manage Twinkle Twinkle little Star, I'd be a Violinist. So theres a difference. As said earlier, and re reading it it looks a bit offensive, sorry. But havin the odd wafty krank wouldnt make you a W##ker would it ?
haha, see what you're getting at. Pounding the parson = good, w##ker = derogatory term Playing bass = good, b#ss pl#yer = derogatory term
  8. Yay! another satisfied customer. The CIJ Precision neck I got from Cetera is just perfect (for me).
  9. I was looking for an image of a Flying V but found something even worse: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/80s-Kramer-Flying-V-Bass-USA-Aluminum-Neck-Black-Electric-Guitar-No-Case-/160898748799?pt=Guitar&hash=item257650117f

  11.
One last thought: does the pickup have alnico slugs or a ceramic bar and steel slugs? If the slugs under the e string have lost their magnetism, if alnico, or if they may not have good contact with the bar magnet underneath the pickup, then this will happen. I had a Pickup that had bar magnet and steel slugs in another guitar. The bar magnet cracked. The half that retained good contact with the steel poles sounded fine on half the strings, and the other half of the magnet that did not retain good contact with the steel poles sounded weak on the other half of the strings until I pulled the pickup apart and rebuilt the magnet.
It's highly unlikely that's happened on both pickups.
  12. When you realise that you're halfway between a drummer and a musician...
  13.
Report it using the name Mr Hall and see what happens then
14.
If you can actually call it a bass...the Kala U Bass. Really?? Close to 500 quid for something that you will only use to amuse your mates with once or twice and get bored of soon afterwards because you own another bass that you can actually use in a practical, conventional situation. Stupidly expensive for what it is. I hear they are releasing or have already released a 5 string model. Give me a break!
Had to Google that. Saw a vid of the bass player out of Dread Zeppelin playing one, thought it was a joke!
  15.
The pickup may have an open winding. When a pickup is open, the inductance can still give a weak signal. Unsolder the hot lead of the pickup from its volume control and see what the dc resistance is. I don't know what kind of pickup it has, but if the pickup is good, being a jazz bass-style instrument it should read something steady between 5kohms and 10kohms. If the needle or digital display of the ohmmeter won't give a stable reading, or rises towards infinity, then the coil is open, the pickup is bad and needs to be replaced.
nope:
Every other string is boomy, and really does sound great, but the E is like a whisper
16.
Could be a phase issue. Try wiring one of the pickups 'back to front' and see what happens. Just swap the lead wires from the pickup around.
nope:
It makes no odds which pickup or both are turned up
17. Peculiar...what happens if you take a pickup out and replace it 180 degrees out, does the G now vanish? Seems unlikely to be a pickup fault as both have the same behaviour though.
  18.
Was going to mention Steve Hanley (The Fall) who I think is a great under-rated bass player, then found this via google... http://louderthanwar.com/top-15-great-bass-players/ ...which pitches him several places above Bootsy
Cog! The Fall were never the same without him. The louderthanwar link also names Tracey Pew, good call.
  19.
Just get a BassPod XT Live and use it through your hi-fi or headphones. Get the sound of an SVT with an 8 x 10 at low volume. Or sound like any amp. I have one- hours and hours of fun programming it- loads of great tones and effects. £100. Spend the rest on another bass!! Or a holiday.
http://basschat.co.uk/topic/36941-line-6-bass-pod-pro-xt/page__p__379998__hl__pod__fromsearch__1#entry379998 When you grow tired of playing on your own all you need to do is add a power amp and the appropriate Barefaced cab and you're away. Enjoy the holiday!
  20.
The previous owner changed the valve for a JJ replacement
I have a 'bog standard' ECC83 I could send you to try, see if it makes any difference - PM me.
  21. Yes, he's a great player. But I wish y'all would get his name right. It's S-Q-U-I-E-R
  22.
Some AER owners will tell you it's all three. I've never heard one, but I can't wait to hear the laws of physics being broken.
Likewise! I'm not dismissing it without hearing it, and can believe it sounds fantastic at low volumes but would it be enough for gigging with drums and guitar without PA support?
  23.
Sell your soul, children, wife and other non-essential items for one of these. You will soon forget who there were when you hear the tone to end all tones from this little beauty - rendering all other amplifiers pointless. http://www.dv247.com...mp-combo--54921
A single ten and 200W...really? Which is it; small, loud or deep?
  24. Guess so. I had a Precision that had more dead spots than [insert bad taste metaphor]; a local luthier scraped the fingerboard, charged me 60 quid and it's been perfect ever since.
