The best 'ampeg' sound I've got was from a Pod, modelling a Hiwatt 200. Second best was an Ampeg SVP Pro with a solid state power amp (my current rig). Last time I played through a SVT and 8x10 I was disappointed. The guy whose rig it was got a fantastic sound though, definitely an Ampeg sound. Not sure what point I'm making [All: so what else is new?] except that it's all in the fingers

But it's a big amp, and takes a big surge that some house electrics are just a bit over-sensitive to. The guy who built the device had problems with it tripping the fuse at his rehearsal room.

Personally I dislike the bridge pup but others would disagree. It hangs a bit strange, very good access to higher frets but totally different from my beloved Precision. The nut is more like a J width than a P. Great for big bands on small stages. Stays in tune when you whack fellow band members on the back of the head. You're not THE Mike Batt, are you? Not worthy! The council will then go round and set up a spl meter in their house and sit and wait for the music to start. They will then write to you, and here's your pportunity to discuss when and how loud is reasonable. You won't get a summons unless you ignore them. This is how my city council does things, anyway. Check the polarity of the DC supply, ie whether the tip of the plug is + or -. Hopefully it'll be marked on the pedal and adjustable on the supply.
