Raggle Taggle Gipsy ‘live version -The Waterboys as it’s got a really driving bassline in places.
I was rehearsing last night with a 300 person choir for an upcoming show and hearing the songs especially ones like Rule The World (Take That) and Viva la Vida (Coldplay) sounded really powerful!
and finally
Nothing Compares To You by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Ahh Prince😢
The BB is designed to stand up to Dual Rec amps etc so it’s gonna have a much more in yer pus type of voicing which, if you’re into that kinda thing it’s gonna be hard to beat.
Sounds like a good purchase!
Oh go on then...
Meet Frank! He’s a PBird with a Tone Styler in place of a regular tone control. The sound is great and the added versatility of the TS over a regular tone control on a single pick up bass is a very wonderful thing!
Such a wonderful pedal. If you need that little extra oomph bit aren’t sure how to get it? This got it!
It’ll lift a passive bass to massive bass! I should totally market that!!
I'd considered this at one stage too - some decent studio kit in a small rack - there's Warm Audio 'Pultec' clone on here - I'd love to try it into something like the Hellborg power amps going 'cheap' on Thomann. Imagine the big fat sound outta a Pultec hitting some big iron!! Delicious!
If I start buying any more gear from Richard I may have to start referring to him as a pimp!
Wonderful to sit and chew the fat and the respite form the drive was most welcome!
Always a pleasure to do a deal with Richard and if anyone is considering buying a rw jazz bass from him tell him not to sell it as he’ll only want to buy it back the following month.
Be well Sir!
Graeme kindly met me at the end of my epic sales road trip to test out my 5 string and to my delight bought it!
A truely decent bloke he put up with my ramblings and terrible jokes. Proof indeed that bass players are indeed the steady ship and in any situation.
Hope the bass brings you much joy!

Yeah great suggestion! My interest isn't what's on the boards as much as the noises and sounds created with them and the context folks are using them in. I struggle to see where I need more than a bit of drive or eq so to see these 14 pedal behemoth boards I'm baffled - limited by my own tunnel vision no doubt - but I'm confident people are making far more interesting and textured noises than my brain could conjure up with the same wealth of tools!
To the gentleman in York who was asking about the bass...
I've just been looking on the Bass Direct website and there is an 18 month wait on new orders from Dingwall and the current Super P/J 5 on order is coming in at £2850.
These don't come up often and for good reason!
Also a picture to confirm the weight is 3.8kg
