  1. Are you using your Helix as a tuner? surely if you have a hx stomp you could make a patch which equals your fave on each pedal and slowly sell off what you can duplicate. If you find a sound you can’t recreate then keep that pedal?
  2. It can be tricky making some tunes fun to play and other tunes, like some I mentioned above, aren’t songs I’d really go out of my way to listen to but are quite enjoyable to play especially with the choir gigs.
  3. I’d love to hear your version. Any audio?
  4. I presume you mean the complete lack of bassline Right? 😀
  5. In no particular order Raggle Taggle Gipsy ‘live version -The Waterboys as it’s got a really driving bassline in places. I was rehearsing last night with a 300 person choir for an upcoming show and hearing the songs especially ones like Rule The World (Take That) and Viva la Vida (Coldplay) sounded really powerful! and finally Nothing Compares To You by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Ahh Prince😢
  6. The BB is designed to stand up to Dual Rec amps etc so it’s gonna have a much more in yer pus type of voicing which, if you’re into that kinda thing it’s gonna be hard to beat. Sounds like a good purchase!
  7. Oh go on then... Meet Frank! He’s a PBird with a Tone Styler in place of a regular tone control. The sound is great and the added versatility of the TS over a regular tone control on a single pick up bass is a very wonderful thing!
  8. I'll do what I like when I like thanks very much
  9. The lad or the bass?
  10. Epic road trip completed bump! Delivery/meet still an option up to 2hrs from Edinburgh.
  11. Such a wonderful pedal. If you need that little extra oomph bit aren’t sure how to get it? This got it! It’ll lift a passive bass to massive bass! I should totally market that!!

I'd considered this at one stage too - some decent studio kit in a small rack - there's Warm Audio 'Pultec' clone on here - I'd love to try it into something like the Hellborg power amps going 'cheap' on Thomann. Imagine the big fat sound outta a Pultec hitting some big iron!! Delicious!
  14. What else could you possibly need?

A happy middle ground between a 1073 mic pre and an 1176 in one rack? https://sxpro.co.uk/bae-uk-sound-1173
  16. If I start buying any more gear from Richard I may have to start referring to him as a pimp! Wonderful to sit and chew the fat and the respite form the drive was most welcome! Always a pleasure to do a deal with Richard and if anyone is considering buying a rw jazz bass from him tell him not to sell it as he’ll only want to buy it back the following month. Be well Sir!
  17. Graeme kindly met me at the end of my epic sales road trip to test out my 5 string and to my delight bought it! A truely decent bloke he put up with my ramblings and terrible jokes. Proof indeed that bass players are indeed the steady ship and in any situation. Hope the bass brings you much joy! G
  18. Honestly if you can afford to get one you will not be disappointed.
  19. These are superb! If you like p basses and want a 5er buy this!
  20. Last chance for a drop off/meet up. Setting off super early tomorrow. Wish me luck 😀👍🏽
  21. How is it still here?
  22. It’d be interesting to know how many folks have gone back to passive basses after the experiment with active and the endless tweaking on a gig
  23. (pssssst) (there's a trickfish amp for sale on here!)
