    Strymon Deco

Yeah I'm all ears for this thing - I love what it does and can imagine it being a staple in any Cure tribute band or for anyone playing a baritone. The drive on it does sound great but I'm only going byt the demo's I've heard not first hand experience.
  2. I’m 5’5” a Gemini and. I enjoy evening walks along the beach. My perfect weekend would be... oh wait wrong site.

    Compressors

In some interviews Mr Keeley talks about his comps - the one with Juan from Pedals and Effects (I believe the pedals on show were the bassist and bassist pro) and how he wanted it to sound good set ‘all knobs at noon’. This way if you were on a gig and your setting got changed, knocked etc all at noon would get the job done without being too much either way.
  4. Buy a SS used, give it a few months to become ‘collectible’ and then buy two DG pedals with the cash 😛
  5. A similar single foot switch version sold for a bit less so I'll knock £10 off Pedal comes with original box and runs off a regular boss style 9v and the dual foot switches make it quite versatile! £140 posted U.K.
  6. So this thing is fixed and it sounds massive! The basic eq works - the amount of low end on this thing!! -but that graphic really lets you dial in some specific frequencies. There is something special about an all valve amp. It’s not all in your head or folklore they do just sound great. This Mesa is relatively light in comparison to many valve heads and very easy to move due to the even weight distribution and the head case design. Having heard it before and after the service it’s now sounding like new and I had the pleasure of giving it a solid three hour workout yesterday and it was immense! Bit of valve amp history right here lads. Considering the price per watt it’s a great deal!
  7. @Hellzero No it's fine but thank you. Like I say he's not being 'difficult' I can understand his position in the sense that he doesn't want to loose out but it is what it is.
  8. I'm just after a refund. I'm not expecting PP to do anything and was just after opinion on if I was being reasonable. It's good to know what my legal recourse might be in other eventualities but unless the seller ponies up it's a bit grim.
  9. The seller has sold some other items and as a BC'er I had few qualms as it all appeared to be an easy transaction. The guy just doesn't want to be out of pocket and I get that and had it been a smaller sum I may have split the losses but I'm needing the full refund to finish my bass build.
  10. Big RedX Thanks for the insight. I waited as the seller was taking reasonable steps to find out what happened and I was willing to give benefit of the doubt. Next time I'll not be using F&F! and I'm guessing the seller wanted to keep his costs to a minimum. The item's were in France and the seller chose the courier - I had no say in who he booked it with. There is a reasonable risk involved in transactions and maybe we all should be more prescriptive when doing the final stage of deciding on couriers we trust etc. I still feel that a full refund is in order.
  11. Cheers I'll look into that. When I open the transaction on PP there is not an option to 'report' it the same way as a transaction through a shop for instance. A wiggle transaction I opened has the option to report The seller has been in touch with French Post and they have a depot where stuff ends up but after three months still no sign hende my decision to seek a refund. I need my 4 string up and running again. I miss playing it.
  12. I'm in Scotland it was Paypal F&F so I don'tthink I can recoup through there. I'm hoping it gets resolved without the need to go 'formal'.
  13. I bought some pick up from a BC'er. They got lost in the post. Three months later I'm all out of hope for them to show up and I request a refund from the seller. I'm offered a portion of the total cost €250 but paid €370. I can totally understand the predicament but I'm insisting on a full refund. The courier is only offering €23 per kilo compensation. I mentioned that it was a shame adequate insurance wasn't taken out and I get told it's interesting that I ask about insurance now but didn't at the time of purchase... he goes on to say "Considering what happened, I do not see why the refund would be 100% on me". I'd just presumed that the seller would make sure they were covered as the liability is on them (and the courier) until the item is received. I'm insisting on a full refund and while I can empathise with the seller (who had done some calling around to locate the item) I still need to finish my bass - which means buy the pick up new (Lull T Bird pick ups come up on the used market so rarely I was really stoked about this build). I now have to change what I was looking to do with the bass build a little but I was hoping to have this all done in late May/early June! So my point is am I being unreasonable? I've waited three months and given benefit of the doubt but I'm insisting on a full refund. The story goes the post office placed the parcel into the wrong delivery bag so it went with French Post not the courier, Chronopost, and has become lost in the French Postal service. I'm sure that can happen.
  14. I was going to do this but the Lull pick ups have been lost in transit and I'm currently trying to get a full refund from the seller. If you can find audio of the Mike Lull PT 4 it'll give you an idea of the sounds you'll get.
  15. Still tempted to give the 50w version a go. Valve amps are great but it's always good to have spares on hand - they can get damaged in transit etc or just die off. I totally get you disappointment but hopefully you'll be able to have a local BC'er loan you a tube if you feel like getting the cage off for a look. Try and see of any valves aren't lighting up as brightly as the others or any noticeable differences between them. The smaller valve are probably behind those wee metal 'screens'. The advice of make a video (if you have time) and contact them retailer/Ampeg is solid. A good twitter moan draws attention and often results in fast turnaround. I believe Polar Audio are responsible for Ampeg of old before Yamaha took em on. Not sure where the stock will come from (probably Yamaha).
  16. I think I mentioned the time stamp about 16min?
  17. I’m not referring the the hgbm specifically just the difference in running at 9v or 18v. Watch the vid it has some audio examples too although with yiuntube compression it may be hard to discern.
  18. If you watch the video I sent you it’ll make sense. Basically 18v doubles the ‘ceiling’ so where a pedal operating at 9v would ‘clip’ you’ve essentially doubled that headroom offering more gain before clipping. Watch the vid 👍🏽
  19. Used this into a Cali 76CB to recreate the Cali76TX sound. This is a 'custom build' which looks like the Hudson Sidecar but is Broadcast through and through! Features: -witch hat silver/black knobs -black chassis -two foot-swtiches for the High and Low levels and two level controls -internal trim pots to fine tune the gain on each channel -internal voltage boost from 9v to 24v for added head room (. With the low cut off gain and level set to noon on the Low channel the added dimension this pedal gives is fantastic. If you want to hear what all the fuss is about with transformers then this is the tone! Hitting the front end of your amp with this setting and it's instant boom! This is how I used the pedal but there are many more great tones lurking beneath its unassuming exterior. From the Hudson site... The Broadcast is a transformer-coupled, discrete Class-A germanium circuit, that takes its inspiration from classic recording consoles of the 1960s. The unique way in which the circuit saturates and colours your signal can be used to produce biting clean boosts, subtly coloured and thickened signals with a frayed-at-the-edge quality or - when pushed - an individual sounding overdrive with a fuzzy, fried texture. The Custom-24V-FS has an internal voltage boost circuit that increases the 9 volts coming in from the power supply up to 24 volts. The increased voltage gives extra headroom and a tighter low end - fantastic if you are looking for a little less saturation and grit, but without losing that unique sound of the Broadcast. On the Custom-24V-FS we have made the gain mode (LOW or HIGH) selectable via the right hand foot switch (the blue LED indicates when the pedal is in HIGH gain mode) as well as giving each mode its own LEVEL control. In addition, the Custom-24V-FS has two internal trimmers that allows you to fine tune the amount of gain each mode has. U.K Postage included
  20. I use the AO too but would like to try the AOU for the additional switchable eq. Nice feature that!
  21. So it's likely to be another take on the massive dirt sound if it's being tested by Cannibal Corpse!! I was wondering if they might do a new range covering low gain to high gain say three different pedals in a new range. Be interesting to see what the feature set is and no doubt some cra cra pricing!
