  1. If you fancy trading for an amp I'll have it
  2. The guys who made the Basswitch, Lehle/RMI, are releasing some boost pedals with some eq shaping: If their Basswitch is anything to go by they should be pretty tasty! 3. Are you a little bit tempted to swap the necks over ? I got bitten by the jazz bug after thinking I needed a P bass and selling a delicious DJ4 Lakland. I put the Model J's into the next jazz I got and loved the sound. I'm currently on a P/J with Fralin's for the 'best of both' but wouldn't mind another Jazz for balance All natural with maple and white blocks would have to be the one - a Lakland ACDJ4 would be the ticket
  4. Played one of these in a guitar shop today and it's a great bass, comfy for a 5 string and great sounds avaiable - if someone buys my amp I'll have it!! Pity you're not after a trade
  5. Some trade options added
  6. I used a MXR Bass overdrive with the gain all the way off for that 'active' preamp sound and then added drive as needed so this is an option. I've tried other preamps and used the Tone hammer but the AGS boost was too much to be useable. The MXR was a good fit but it got stolen. I have a different unit now but it's out of your current budget. The MXR bass pre amp looks great and it was gonna be my 'new' toy until the Basswitch came up Best to try out a couple of you can and see what features work for you and your set up. Good luck and have fun!

  8. When I had some gear nicked a while back the TU-2 was the first thing which I replaced - out of the few pedals I had it's been the constant. repaced with a TU-3 from ebay for £26 plus postage which the guy was asking £15 - i told him I could drive to his place for less than £15 so he did it for a 5'er. Best bargain ever!
  9. I'm guessing Dan must have some clause that he couldn't build his signature bass shape (the Lakland 44-01/55-01 shape) which he became famous for hence a return to F style basses. The Lakland head stock is a beautiful design and I actually prefer it to Fender's original design but these new D.Lakin head stocks aren't appealing (well to me at least). I hope to keep my current Lakland for a long time and while I wish Dan well I think I'll hold out on buying any of his new stuff but who knows what he may have up his sleeve a few years down the line?
  10. Price drop bump due to a rather tasty amp replacement becoming available!
  11. Iain how does the bass sound and have you tried the carbon neck (p of j width?) Love that DiMarz as I had one in an old bass and imagine it's more defined in the middle position. Is the bass regular scale length? Cheers
  12. I guess that's why they call you Happy Jack
  13. That audio clip was mega. Some growl outta that 'Wall. Pete is a stellar bloke who only buys quality gear. Deal in confidence!
  14. Sorry lads I just put this on to see how much controversy it would kick off opposed to genuinely constructive feed back. The DD with added j p/u (a vintage sounding Fralin) is seriously the best sounding and playing P I've owned to date. Nearly makes getting my old bass stolen worth it!
  15. It'd look better with a bad ass bridge Sorry couldn't resist
  16. I like the aesthetic of it and I've been a huge fan of the BA in the past. While the Lakland bridge 'fits' on their own brand I prefer the BA on a fender style bass. No doubt the Lakland is an improvement over the BBOT but it's my personal pref. Well I appreciate the candor I'm more interested in hearing if the bridge would fit into the existing holes.
