Eskimo Those pedals from the nasty board are all gone. It was for my old band who disbanded earlier this year. I'm not into too much dirt on bass so didn't need all that filth! The W&C stuff is great. I'd be interested in trying the TC ELectronic Spark booster in place of the phat Phuk as it appears to have added versatility. If anyone has tried the TC Spark boost let me know!

Thought I'd chime in here. My board has gone from dirty pedal board...... There is an A/B looper which combined a Phat Phuk and ODB-3 in one loop and had a Pickle Pie in the other. [attachment=115374:photo.JPG] To this much less offensive clean machine.... Again the brain stays, the looper, which has a Aguilar DB 924 in one loop and a BB Bass Pre amp in the other with everything going out through the compressor. The BB is a great wee unit and it really allows me to adjust the drive to the DB924 pre amp so volumes and tones are as even as possible. Its not very complex but gives a really solid tone. It's perfect for the gigs I'm playing at the minute. I'll also say that a A/B pedal is really handy on a board and means a one button change and no tap dancing, I'd heartily recommend it to you guys who have a less comples set up but need to change sounds quickly with out tap dancing mid song. Industry standard Di up for grabs. Recently got my hand on a valve di which I'm using for the bulk of my DI'ing at the minute. Some light cosmetic damage but everything works perfectly and all the wording is clearly visible. I'm half tempted to keep it on my mini pedal board and my guitarist is begging me to keep it for him I'm after £95 which will include next day delivery in the UK.

Maybe I confused Jen and the Gents for another female based local band ? *closes can of worms*

BotB Did I spot you at the Scottish Indie Music Label Fair last week? I noticed one of your bands CD's for sale at the event.

Hey Kevin Is Chris based up at St Patricks Sq or am I confusing him for another builder/luthier in Edinburgh? Might be interested in having my bass set up/intonation done and wondered if he bother with such simple tasks G

Sorry misread thought it was a run from the 10th-18th! I just got into festival brain where everything is running for the best part of three weeks

I live here - been to see stuff every day since it started this year, mind you much of it has been free stuff with variable quality. I have a buch of buddies over next week and we're doing 4/5 shows per day for a long weekend which has became a bit of a trdition for us. If you're stuck for company between shows gimme a shout and you can grab a pint with us. The more the merrier so that goes for anyone else who is knocking about. I'm happy to provide an email/mob number upon request......following all the necessary police checks gjones Might try and get to your gig one night, maybe next Wed as we've nothing booked that night. Some locals hate the festival but I've found it to be a great experience I guess its not for everyone! G

I think I like it!

The Apollo seems nice but looks more studio amp than gigging amp though I have seen one used by the bassist in Robert Plants performance on later... a while back. EBS do a similar low watt valve head (60watts?) Depends what application it's needed for. A great wee practice amp for home or full on gigging amp (if using a IEM and mic'ing the cab). If it's very low wattage contact Matamp and have them tweak a Minimat for ya! If it's a big amp contact Matamp and have them build you a monster Good luck

BB pre amp is great and allows you to balnce the tone well with other things as it is boost and cut. Currently enjoying what its doing with my p bass. I found, and you may not give a damn , is that while one pedal can maybe cover a low gain or moderate gain we would rather have two pedals that do each sound equally well cause we love to buy gear. I've happily loaned guys on here a pedal to see if it was what they were after during quiet, non-giging times but I'm busy over August. If you're still thinking about a BB pre amp gimme a shout and I can bounce it your way for a few days near the end of the month.

I use an Aguilar BD924 (bass and treble boost only which is the same as the Sadowsky unit). I think it allows the p bass tone to come out with a little added bottom (and zing if required). Currently thinking about a Ray 34 which I've found cutting the treble and boosting bass and mids a little gives a very warm fat tone which is right up my street tone wise. I'm into old, fat tone and not this Jazz noodle tone (it's an unofficail term)but something about the Stngray sound appeals - I guess it's the Leo Fender connection. Razze I might swing by tonight as I'm gigging round the corner at 11pm. What time you guys starting?

Dude it's a great bass but my tricked out P is getting all the love as its cheaper and I'm less precious about something happening to it. The MD stays home and is my go to recording bass - that CS '59 pick up with a bit of valve compressor and a tube di is awesome recorded! I just fancy trying a Stingray vibe with my new band!

I've offered my old practice room before but alas no longer have the lease on it. Plenty of space there for some BBQ action and beers and few locals to annoy. Finnegans Wake on Victoria Street (just out of the Grassmarket) have live music every night and is good for cheap pints Mon-Thur (£1.85 for some beers!!!) and its normally got a bevy of Spanish ladies in Tghe staff are all pretty dead on and the place is normally jumping at the weekends. Oh and my baldy mate works there, granted he is a bit of a prick
