Problem discovered. The amp is still in the depot - the package couldn't be read by the x ray machine. No suggestion that they forward it to their main sorting office over land for scanning then sent onwards. No logic in logistics it seems. It makes you wonder why no one from UPS got in touch and instead it took over a week to get an answer. UPS will be getting a complaint letter for sure. I may pass it over to my mate who loves writing a good complaint letter It's going overland to it's new home so fingers crossed it get there by Feb!!!

Thanks Dave. The address was taped in place and the package had the original printed packaging label and a hand written version just in case.

The thing is one parcel got delivered the next day no problems. I hope to get an update tomorrow.

Jackinabox It's quite bad form to get into discussion which could be perceived as damaging to a sale within a thread. It's very clever of you to be able to use the search but it's down to the buyer or interested parties to do their own research on items they are interested in. I'd suggest deleting your posts and if you are interested contact the seller directly via PM, if you're not interested then don't interfere with this guys sale thread. Pretty straightforward no? I'd welcome the Mod's input. Gavin -
Yeah two items were uplifted and maybe he, UPS guy, has thought they were both the same order? No receipt was offered at point of uplift so my hope is that its sitting somewhere with guys scratching their heads thinking where did this come from. Although one scan of the packing label would given them a fairly decent idea! It's currently under investigation with UPS (oops more like!)

So I agreed a sale with a very nice fellow here on BC. I arranged shipping of said amp to him in Holland. The people from UPS came and uplifted the amp along with a cab which was headed down south. Next day I get confirmation that the cab has arrived safely, and quickly to its new home and a look at the tracking info for the head reveals the message that it had not been uplifted and thus rescheduled. I contacted the couriers (Interparcel working as the agent, UPS their 'delivery partners') I kept the recipient informed and we both put it down to logistics. Fast forward two days later and the amp is nowhere to been seen and UPS are commencing an investigation. Mine and the recipents worst fear is that the parcel has been swiped! The amp in question is a quite a rare beast so should be easily spotted if seen in your local crack convertors. It's an Aguilar DB 359 all tube head serial number 629. It was cased i a brand new Spider brand black 2U soft case. We are both hopeful that a simple logisical error is the problem and that the amp shows up after the weekend but it's better to put the work out just incase. I can only presume it went to the Glasgow UPS depot and I'll be taking a trip over to Glasgow and trawling the 2nd hand places to be sure it hasnt surfaced. If you notice or hear of an Aguilar DB 359 going cheap please let me know via PM and I'll get to work. If you suddenly notive your local CC with one again let me know and I'll get on the case or if you can provisionally reserve it if the serial number/description matches. Thanks iun advance folks and if the mods wish to move this to a Lost/Stolen thread be my guest. Gavin

Sadowsky VTC kit

Hi just saw that there was some action on this thread. Yeah something like the Aguilar OBP-1 which is a boost only preamp (as opposed to gain only??) is what this was made for. I had the external version for a good while and it was great but had to be always on. The bonus was I could get some nice tones with the bass and treble boosted and then vintage up the tone with my bass passive tone control. The passive tone allows to you engage the passive tone on your bass while the bass is in active mode i.e. add some sparkle but retain a wrmth without having shrill sharp top end. Might sound counter intuitive but go try a Sadowsky at your local shop and mess with the VTC. Really nice feature IMO (as well as work as an on/off switch for your active circuit with out needing to drill an extra switch). -
Mauricio bought an amp from me. From the outset we had good communications and Mauricio was always swift with his responses. I had no hesitation whatsoever at any stage of the process. Payment was swift and everything happened when Mauricio said it would. Deal with confidence!

Pete bought a cab. We had a nice phone chat and got everything agreed and sorted. Payment came when Pete said it would and the whole thing was a hassle free process.

The God of Thunder bought a pedal from me befitting of his regal stature. He was quite nice about the whole affair. My livestock remain unmolested and my local village un-pillaged! Ahh to know people in high places!

Hey The downsize continues and last to go is this cab. Served me well and a reluctant sale. Standard GS112 (300w 8ohm) with tweeter. I never used the tweeter above 9 o'clock. Driver is in good shape but the 'rat fur' is a little 'baled though this is purely cosmetic. These cabs can handle low-mid volume gigs well and if like me most gigs these days the cab is more of a monitor than provide room filling volume. £225 posted for this one.

Okay First Mike Dirnt P bass with two custom made pick guards in black and tort (original white included). This has had extensive work to the neck (£100+) and plays like a custom shop bass. Fender Custom Shop '59 pick u which is one of the better P bass pick up's I've heard in a long time. Bass is black with r/w neck and bad ass bridge. £450 Second is Matt Freeman with upgrades. Seymour 1/4lb'er and a badass bridge fitted along with wiring upgrade kit. ******* Same body wood as USA precisions********** I've learned otherwise the body wood is basswood and apologies fro the misinformation. Build quality is high - Black w/ black pick guard and all maple neck.£400 The MF is light and spritely in tone. The wiring kit really adds versatility and the bass can do modern and vintage. Nice tone with flat wounds which nicely compensate for the mid scoop the 1/4lb'ers are famed for. High output bass and worth every penny! The Dirnt is heavier than the MF and overall more vintage in character, a darker sounding bass. This is likely in part to the basswood body and rosewood neck. Much more pronounced in mids and I can't say enough about the pick up which really is fantastic. It's a shame Fender don't make this available in more basses/to the general public. I like this with round wounds as the tone rolled back to abt 30% -40% gets nice and dark and again classic P tone. The bad ass bridge adds a little brightness but thats easily tamed with the tone control. Sale only on each bass. Needs must unfortunately. They are both available to demo in Edinburgh. Thanks
