Just a warning I bought a SWR power amp at a too good to be true price - it blew and then there was a whole hassle on getting the part etc. GG bought the gear from Fender as no return meaning that Fender wouldnt cover warranty but GG offered warranty via their own tech. After numerous dates for when it would be ready I ended up getting a full refund as it was proving too much hassle. Can I just say GG were great to deal with and weren't the issue but I'd ask if this is a refurb and get full clarity on why its such a good deal. I spent a few months without a rig and it was very frustrating especially as it was another guy who blew the amp having used it withouot my permission nor informng me it had blown! Be wary of too good to be true deals and always ask the shop the background.

Im in a band with many ladies tho not a girl band!! We recently did a mash up with the riff to My Sharona but to the chord changes/verse from Toxic by Brittany Spears. The chorus was the Topxic chords and vocal then back into the sharona riff. Then we dropped in the Love Shack break down with the nice littel bass bit.You know the"Bang bang bang on the door" bit. Then it was back into the toxic for the outro. Sounded killer and people liked it. It works better than it sounds but we did have 4 vocals/harmoony going on too which helped I might have some live footage of it from an up coming gig so I'll direct you there if you're interested in putting it to you're bands vote

Yeah that one its one sweet axe! The DS P bass is really nice too - one day I'll DS a P bass just for the sheer awesome-ness of it - it looks mega let alone the sound

OK So I was in aguitar store yesterday having a look about and I am convinced I saw a new way huge pedal but cant find it lsited anywhere - I rememebr it had two little tweakable controls like other pedals in the current line up and it appeared to be a sweepable mid control. Anyone seen it yet? I may have to go and hunt it down tomorrow for a demo unless it was all a dream... oh hang on Bobby Ewing's at the door.....

I've an EBS valve drive that'll get you there. It's all valve dirt, classic tone stack and in combination with your amp (a TC by the looks of your sig - a little tweaking to the mid range controls) and you'll get a pretty frickin' good OD sound with plenty of oomph! Just a thought

Oly White P5 Rosewood/maple neck. Its got that great P tone only with the extra B sting. Very nice tension and I've fitted DR LoRiders for their extra 'stiffness' and this low B feels as good as a 35' scale IMHO but you may differ. Comes in original new style hard cases and are pretty sexy looking units I'll get pic's up over the next few days. The P5 is all original and certainly retains that more 'modern' sound. As with any good P bass the tone control actually functions as you'd want and will go from bright (it's got new strings so that helps) when wide open to more classic across its taper. Guitarists talk all the time about volume knob control for adjusting the response of the guitar - a Good P bass tone control will do the same for your bass tone. Two beauties and each one has its own personality. Its like a pair of pretty twins - how do you decide which one to date? Both are tasty but each one has that little spark which draws you in. £700 for P5 PM for pic's which I'll update over the coming days.

T'was immaculate! Cheers Good guy to deal with - fast and accurate.

I use the Eden power amp and it's been 100% reliable. Enough volume for my needs and really nifty tone controls to help maximise your sound. Its for sale only due to needing something smaller.

For fear of repeating myself from another post I just hooked up an Ernie Earplugs Regenerative Feedback Processor - its a passive pedal requiring no batteries- that can adda synth like quality to your dirty tone and allows you to switch it in and out and retain the tone of your dirt pedal. For me its been quite fun playing with the volume control and hearing how that affects the tone. Its maybe not he perfect replication but for about £25 quid 2nd hand you might find it more fun and much cheaper than a synth pedal that won't track the notes etc. or certainly a component in a sound that allows you your stamp of originality OK vid link added below and please dont comment on the playing especially when I decide to 'slap' Should give a good indication of the messed up tones though - I'd be happy to have comment on that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o3cnfKiEe4

Whats your budget? There are many good options but i guess its what you have the dime for. I finally giot round to trying my ernie earplugs feedback regenerator pedal today hooked up to a dirt box and it was such a fun experience It will add something to your dirt sound - if its actually what you're after is another question but for a relatively inexpensive box you get your normal drive sound plus your f**ked up sound which adds a dimension to your filth. I'd recommend those who are after a synth type tone to their dirt to check them out if you get a chance to. I'll try and post a link to the video I made (once I upload it to you tube). Good luck with the pedal hunt http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o3cnfKiEe4

Alpha pot's aint bad either - some of my gear have had them and they feel as one would imagine a nice pot should. Smooth but a reassuring resistance so you know its there. Plus they sound good across their taper.

I emailed bass centre and was advised that i should get a big amp - the standard bass head being the SVT which was rated at 300w but Im still drawn to this EBS amp. i like the idea that I can use playing dynamic's (to a point ) to coax cleaner tones but still have that edge - again £900 is a big risk if it turns out to be 'under powered' for the 'real world'. I can't help thinking that at the gig's I play a solid 60-70 tube watts would be ample coming out a 4 ohm cab. My only concern would be would it be under powering a 500-700w cab? iIwelcome your collective knowledge.

Our guitarist convinced us to do a charity give for Amnesty that his dad runs every year. It turned out it was at the opposite side of the country which included a train ride, car journey and finished off with ferry ride all with gear in tow. We kinda knew it would be a road trip and had free accommodation and food for doing the show but we played to a very unappreciative crowd ( we didnt care if they thought we sucked but the hall emptied as the band before us were playing trad music, played longer than they were supposed to and the crowd were knackered and all went outside to get air, drink, cool down and get stoned. The killer was all the food was gone when we arrived, two of the band had to sleep in a converted bus that was baltic and we were all up again at 5.30am to catch the early ferry home and I had to work a 8 hour shift that afternoon. Oh yeah it cost me an annual leave day too It will take a lot of convincing for me to do another charity show that isn't a local bus ride away

+1 Sir Duke I recall sitting down one saturday morning, pot of coffee brewed and bass in hand and thinking right!Lets go! Took much quicker than expected. On a completely opposite end of the scale I find some of the Jamerson stuff initially sounds really hard, then you nail one phrase or passage and then only to realise its on a whole different level of playing and you would never make those note choices not even at gunpoint. I cant believe how much milage he got between the open strings and 5th fret.
