  1. I was looking at one but read that they couldn’t. Ironically I use a DG 410/api preamp as my main ir
  2. does the element only use DG ir or can it be loaded with 3rd party ones too?
  3. I’ve got around this by using an OmniIR cab sim. It’s the last thing in my signal chain and allows me to have a ‘thru’ to my amp if I’m using one and a xlr out to the desk. As much as I enjoy the sound of my cab this is the most hassle free option. Some venues might mic your cab but an IR loader might be the best option and there are many option for cabs where you’ll find something that works for you.
  4. And breathe!!! Thanks Wim Hof. Iv’e got it from here.
  5. One may argue finger style bass may not suffer the same fate…
  6. The classic “Fender do something different” and folk either go mad +ve or -ve. If it’s not the look it’s the price or the concept or the fact that in 1986 you find a similar import… Carry on fellas…
  7. I have a PT metro 24 pedal board for sale too so if you fancy a bundle deal get in touch!
  8. Here’s my set up… Bass>Tuner>HPF>Basswitch (drive and comp in the fxloop)>Drive pedal >Filter>Omni IR cab sim The Basswitch is the ‘the brain’ and has the TRex (set to low gain) and the HL compressor in the ‘always on’ parallel loop. The other effects come after the Basswitch. It does have another fx loop but I prefer the sound of the drive and filter after the eq. This feeds into the Omni cab sim with DI out to the desk and I can run a line ‘Thru’ to an amp if I’m using one. On occasion I might run all this into my tube DI and send that to the desk. More recently I’ve been experimenting running the out of the tube DI to my amp as it has a really positive effect on the tone on account of the tubes and transformer. I’d best describe it as sounding like increasing the ‘bandwidth’ what one might hear using a pedal in 18v mode as opposed to 9v if you’ve ever compared those option in a preamp or drive unit. If I’m feeling lazy I’ll just use my DITTO tube DI box!
  9. I may have registered my interest 😀
  10. *Price includes U.K. shipping* Just got a slightly bigger board to accommodate a few of my always on pedals and that sees the Metro 24 up for sale. I do have some dual lock on the board but I’m happy to strip that off and supply two unused rolls of Velcro (one hook, one loop). The dual lock has kind been placed to suit my pedals some which were non-standard sizes and may not suit you or you could leave it on and fill out the strips etc. Your call if you buy the board! The board has been gigged and has the odd flake here and there but it’s structurally sound and a great size for folks who have up to a 6 standard pedals but want to keep them tidy and uniform. There’s some Dual lock underneath too which help a Cioks DC5. Needless to say the pictured pedals do not come with the board 😀
  11. Absolute steal!!
  12. Had I not just nabbed some KZ DQ6’s I’d have had these.
  13. And that guy from Rocket From The Crypt!
  14. If I didn’t have a monthly heating bill I’d be able to buy three of these.
  15. When I was 16 I borrowed a ‘73 to play a gig from a local muso. No questions asked he handed it over. That was back when vintage didn’t exist in bass terminology. Fatness for days!
  16. Been checking out the Royal Jelly by Beetronics. Sounds fantastic on bass (and most other sources). Andertons sold out phew 😮‍💨
  17. Checked out some demos. What a great sounding unit! Not in the market but I could see how useful one of these would be for so many live/iem/di to foh players.
  18. These are so much more than just a DG sounding pedal. Great always on tone shaper which can give your sound that wee lift in a band mix.
  19. I think it was this one: just cut/paste into Amazon. SONICAKE Pedal Power Supply Adapter Guitar Bass Accessories 9V DC 1000mA 1A
  20. I nabbed a 500ma psu from amazon worked a charm.
  21. I thought you were after a p split. Apologies if I’ve misunderstood or it already sold
  22. I use the 210 500w Rumble combo (about 350w without the ext speaker) and it holds up well but we have pa support too so I’m not pushing it super hard. I tend to run a cam sim/IR to the desk but have a thru out on that pedal (Omni cab sim) to the amp. I like to have the amp with a bit of dirt on stage at one of my main venues. Both the drummer and I appreciate the feel of a bass on stage. My other regular venue the sound tech likes the amp to be quite low as not to ‘overpower’ the foh mix but as it’s iem only the amp is optional. At our last gig I had a nice bass sound but I was using the DBird and it makes anything sound good! Back out on the 30th for our last gif of the year and I’ll be in the same venue. Might swap out a pedal but the crowd are always up for a dance and a party. We’re very lucky that it’s a city centre venue popular with locals and tourists and Edinburgh is rammed over Hogmanay. Fish in a barrel!
