  1. To those asking via PM… Pics of the peli case to follow. Just realised I don’t have any saved on the phone and not back home until later.
  2. For sale only - price includes a peli hard case, fitted foam insert and tracked postage in the U.K. This is a killer DI which provides both tube and transformer goodness to your signal chain. Warm up your digital fx modeller (I ran this with a HX Stomp to FOH) or simply go direct with a full and mighty Tube/Tx DI sound. I’ve really enjoyed using this unit but moving back to my Basswitch it already has a TX on the DI out as does one of my other pedals. There’s some online reviews and I’ve never had a REDDI to compare it to but man this thing can fatten up a bass tone!
  3. No bad guys here just explaining myself. Back to the thread.
  4. My point was simply ‘word play’ - the chat about the hardware and specifically the bridge whereas the teacher failed to recognise the Gotoh tuners which made their way into the products actual name. I was just having some fun but you’re right the DNFTT acronym should only mean one thing and I should have said Do Not Forget The Tuners. There’s no place for fun on basschat. As you were…
  5. Fair enough if you're not impressed but if I was your student I'd be super happy with a bass which feels as good as the HB. When I was learning cheap basses were really just that - cheap and poor quality, terrible intonation and often quite difficult to set up correctly. I have encountered none of this with this admittedly new bass. Time will tell. Now onto other considerations... Will I change out the electronics? Maybe as I'd quite like some Bartolini's or some other brad I may happen to prefere but I'll be gigging it this Friday and Saturday and I'm really looking forward to it.
  6. Tuned and plugged in... For £202 delivered this is simply ridiculous value! Stuck it thru a couple of eq pedals (Colourbox v.2 which to be fair makes everything sound good and a Spark Booster -4 knob version which just elevated the basic sound and would work well as an always on unit with this bass in place of a 2B eq a la OBP-1 or Sadowsky type unit. They both added added more to a fundamentally decent J bass sound.
  7. Arrived. Looks great and I’ve left it to settle - I’ll tune and set it up later then it’ll get a workout!
  8. Was this you running the bass through the new pa?
  9. Still a solid signal chain
  10. Mine didn’t arrive today but that’s ok I’ve been out all day anyways. I’m on leave all next week so can be here for it’s arrival. I’m sure it’s gonna be a good bass but I’ve already got plans for some Bart’s and maybe an Audere pro z preamp flying in the face of my normal aversion to an on board preamp… maybe!
  11. I have the Daphne blue arriving on Friday… I do like a Jazz and think this is gonna get a lot of playing over the next couple months with my pub band I’ll get it out with the final gig with the 80’s band next month too!
  12. OC-10 now sold. Sorry to those who missed out - there were about 6 of you!!
  13. I don’t use an onboard pre as I normally just use the trusty old Basswitch but I heard a demo recently with that Audere and the way the mid switch (which isn’t selecting different frequencies as one might expect from a three position mini switch) is executed in that preamp is really very good and much less in your face. I suppose it just sounded very natural without being too active. I don’t generally like active basses.
  14. **Updated 07.02.23** My 80's band has sadly called it quits and some of the kit I acquired for it is now on the slab! I'm not after any trades so * FOR SALE ONLY* Prices will include UK shipping and for now it's UK sale only. If you're local feel free to call round for a demo and a cuppa! Fender FullMoon Preamp/Distortion - £95 A guitar dirt pedal but really well voiced for bass and actually works as a decent and affordable preamp and reminded me of how the TC Spark Booster is a really solid 2 band bass eq/preamp even though it’s a ‘guitar pedal’. Think a budget Sadowsky preamp with more features. I've settled on my pedal board for now and have all the dirt I need but have been reluctant to list this but needs must - I simply have no more room on my board for all my dirt pedals... sadly! Here's a video showing off how good it sounds! Of course if you're a guitarist it’s a killer distortion on guitar too. Boxed. Basswitch Enhanced Drive - £150 Bit of a rare bird! This takes the Sonic Spark and adds in serious drive and filth. The tone control actually works like an eq shift moving the eq curve. Surprisingly versatile across its 'Tone sweep' and can do a really great Ampeg scoop to a more mid forward thing. Very good in a trio to fatten up unison riffs and keep things thick. If you like it heavy this is a great pedal. It can sound pretty filthy and has a clean blend to retain as much clean as needed. Boxed. TC Spark Booster 4 knob - £35 Sold Fender Trapper Bass Distortion - £95 Sold Pedaltrain Mero 24 includeds soft carry case - £35 sold TC Electronic 3rd Dimension - £35 sold.
  15. I should add that the snaps of the chip are the same chip from different angles not multiple chips 😁
  16. It feels like the Infinity or Photon pedals would be a better product simply because of the feature set if someone really wanted to drop 500 quid on the latest DG tech but I get they’re two different products.
  17. Reminiscent of the Lakland DJ model who Cort also build. I’d whip out the eq stick in an Audere Pro-z and you’ve got a giant killer. If I shift the DBird I’d do that!
  18. Darkglass becomes the new FMIC
  19. The shift line looks pretty good! And it that the LBA transformer hiding underneath? Nice find! I’ve been on the lookout for one of those for a while!
  20. I don’t think you’d have space for it but the Hotone IR cab sim pedal which is also a mini (similar to the Mooer Radar) would be the perfect compliment to add IR/DI out as an option.
