  1. I have a P, a J and a Mustang ...for the smaller stages of course, not because I’m a massive hipster 😀
  2. I did do a search and while tempted I have a few items I can use for headphone practice already. The blue one would be handy if one wanted to use their amp DI out or a preamp with Di/helix or wanted to practice vox with bass and backing tracks etc. I look forward to hearing how folks find the units and I’m sure the ‘new cake day’ thread will be up and running soon enough 🍰
  3. Stick it in a bum bag! You can keep spare batteries in there too 😀
  4. Can I just add I’ve nothing to do with this offer or Yamaha. There’s a webpage and manual available online if folks wanna go and have a look and have questions answered 😀
  5. The unit is supplied with a mini 4 pole cable so it’s likely transmitting L,R, ground and function. (An iPhone inline mic headset with volume control etc is 4 pole). I’d imagine if your android device has similar functionality with it’s in line headphone/mic it’ll be fine. I don’t own one of these cakes but I’m wondering if they mention apple specifically for the recording element into the Apple based apps. I’d imagine music playback via aux is universal.
  6. @dave_bass5 They also had the blow out on the Ampeg PT-20 and PT-50’s. They’re about an hour away from where I live. And the db bass cabs... As for Kostcutter krispn the alliteration is a wee bit too kkk for my liking but thanks for the thought🙂
  7. I don’t think the red ones were ever £124 new but it certainly doesn’t become less useful just because it’s not 92% off 😀 Shame they don’t have the blue version (which has the higher price tag) in stock as it’s a tad more versatile in terms of inputs. I recall Yamaha having a bit of interest about these when they were first announced and I think they had an initial high price but were cheaper upon release to market. I don’t have one as I use my Apollo interface/laptop for headphone play at home. They get decent reviews though if you have a search.
  8. https://www.kennysmusic.co.uk/yamaha-sessioncake-sc-01-mixing-headphone-amp-for-guitar-bass Great deal if you’re stuck at home and want a quiet noodle!
  9. @walshy cheers fella got sorted with one 😀
  10. If your on board eq can boost at 40Hz and 4kHz you’ll be in the ball park but it’ll be hard to nail the pre exactly. Aguilar have a new teeny version of their old DB924 pre which is very similar to the Sadowsky https://www.aguilaramp.com/effect-pedals/db925/
  11. The Epi is great or at least the ones I’ve played were.
  12. A Lucille into the clean channel of a Mesa DC5 slightly pushed is what I think of for an all round great guitar tone. Such a great guitar. As for basses it’s 3 for me but honestly the p bass is all I really need.
  13. Same here I retro fitted some Nordstrand NJ4’s in my (albeit fretted) VM with no hassle at all.
  14. So does the new Sire make 10 or has there been another NBD😀
  15. Yup it was more if it was a traditional nut width. I can imagine it's nothing but sublime and the weight!! Gotta love the SuperP! My 5er was a superb 3.9kg, 3.4kg (ish) for a 4 string is mad!
  16. Oops didn’t mean to make it a DWF😀
  17. How does the Super P4 feel? I love the Super P and the 4 feels like it doesn’t ‘need’ the extended scale length but I do really really like them. The oly/tort would be go to or the Pino-esque colour scheme. I love the neck on the 5 but how’s the profile on the 4 given how difficult it is to encapsulate things like feel in words!
  18. Oh go on then... Same bass just a change of pick up. Shuker body with a PB70’s neck Lull TBird pick up (top pic) and a David Allen 1088p Reverse P in the bottom. The neck feels great and with flats feels amazingly smooth. I’ve never rubbed my hands in butter but I’ve heard it said...
  19. This has the same lovely black sparkle like on the Lakland DJ model. Sounds great on the demo. A lot of bass for the money and bang on weight at 4kg. What’s not to like!
  20. I bought her book which has videos to support the learning within. It’s maybe not relevant for the specific ‘paid courses’ you’re looking at. The rules were very specific after all. However the book ‘Music Theory for The Bassist Player’ now has a paid, accompanying course which one could use but my experience is limited to the book so I can’t vouch for that specific course.
