If your thinking of buying and collecting one of the other basses..make sure you do it lunch time..Fran makes a wicked pasta Ady
Yes that's true, no one comes past my house friend or foe without sampling my culinary dishes, and I am not talking about boil in the bag spag bol that you english people eat! About one hour before Ady turned up I was chopping onions, slicing garlick in tiny slices, peeling boiled tomatoes, prepping linguine etc etc, it just so happened that Ady turned up when all was ready!

 4.
Cool thanks for that. I really want a P-bass again since i miss having one! Which would you say is better? The CV P-bass or the VM P-bass?
As you can see from my signature pic and link, I happen to have all 3 of the Classic Vibe ones. I love them all which is why I've stuck with them and they go perfectly along with my more expensive basses, in fact they are an enhancement to my collection rather than a downgrade. However I have modified all 3 of them, I got rid of all the wiring and posts and replaced these with real CTS Pots and vintage style waxed cloth wiring, original sprague capacitors and all of them were fitted with different models of Seymour Duncan pickups, the Jazz has 2 stacked humbuckers to give parallel / series split facilty which I have not chosen to adopt, in fact I've kept them wired traditionally in parallel and the only reason I chose them to be humbuckers was to keep the hum at bay and these do exactly that. Real Jazz sound minus the unwanted hum and hiss. The 50's lake placid blue Precision has a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound (the ones with the larger pole pieces) which gives it a great bottom and much clearer mids with just the required highs without going over the top. The 60's Fiesta Red (Salmon Pink to me) Precsion I originally fitted a Seymour Duncan Vintage Correct but that was not as "vintage" as I expected it and while I was looking for a replacement some bloke on ebay was selling a brand new yet to be fitted Lollar which I snatched at the silly price of £29. Now I challenge anyone to be blind folded and tell the difference between that Squier CV P Bass and a real vintage one. At the end of the day if I was to chose between the 50's style CV and the 60's one I would say it is a difficult choice but down to personal taste I can say that the 50's is the winner for sound alone, I tell you this has a real vintage vibe, play it with an old valve amp and you'll wet yourself, is that good.
 5. The CV Squier are a great range of good quailty built basses and provided that the seller's reserve is not overly estimated, a good conditions P Squier should stay withing the £150-£180, if it goes any higher you get close to the new price range £230-£250 depending on what good a deal you might get from a retailer.
 6. Roses are red, violets are blue, (no thery're not, they're purple!) buy one of these basses and you'll be super cool!
 7.
I have a Tanglewood Rebel 5K i salvaged from a friend a while back, it was a little beaten up, (bridge is rusty, dust got in under the pick ups and wire came loose in the input.) and yet the thing still worked! God knows how but anyway iv completely revamped it got the electronics sorted cleaned it all up and replaced the bridge and works a treat now. Only problem is i dont use 5 strings very often and its getting in my way a bit and i want to sell it, I just have no idea how much it would be worth or anything. Could anybody help me with this?
I've read on the net that new costed about £180, you could fetch £120 provided if it's clean and plays well
 8. Hey tyre kickers!! What happened to the Yeah I am really interested I'll be in touch?
 9. granted, there's a lot more "switchable" options in a Big Al SSS than say a Bongo HH, but... if said Bongo has a piezo in the bridge it's a whole different "chanson d'amour"
 10. POLITE NOTE There is a lot if interest in the 25th Anniversary, three people are now probably robbing post offices to make up the dosh, don't be disappointed and go hold up your local Barclays Bank today! First robbed first served!
 11. I knew that all along but was being too polite to contradict you Gareth. In fact the only basses fitted with USA Pickups are those with the logo's "Crafted in Japan" or "Made in Japan"
 12.
Always read the small print.
Yes that's right, but it ain't necessarily so, I've decided to throw a 6-pack to anyone who buys the bass.
 13.
That Big AL looks just too cool!
Well then young Sir, please step into my office and let's talk business

 23.
Bass arrived yesterday dirty, scratched and as soon as i tried to adjust the bridge, one of the inserts started coming out. Needless to say the offer of £20 discount wasn't enough as this was clearly the floor model so its going back. Bugger, its really nice as well and I ain't going to be able to find another one.
Man that is a shame and shame on GAK for despatching a wrong'n. (Not the first time, I once ordered a Jazz and received a Precision from them)
 24. Mine is for sale. nuff said. Bongo 5 HHP (Piezo option) It's mint, not a scratch to it as with all my basses, orginal MM case, pm me now.
 25.
That's a heart-ripper alright! How badly disabled is he - even though I know it's none of my business - but does he play any music or does he not do that?
Well he is unable to walk, but luckily he is 90% able from the waist up, and yes he is a musician too, I have been teaching him to play guitar (my other vice) for the last 5 years. However he is pretty limited to what he can do with his hands, and muscles coordination because Cerebral Palsy inovolves 2 major set backs: irregular muscle tone / strength and coordination between brain signals and muscle response. So he has issues with speed and endurance, and can only play so long before he needs a break. In the last 2 years he has been attending a music technology college course where he is learning ways of making and arranging computer music with the use of Pro Tools, Logic, Reasons and all the trickery which is available today. His aim is to become either a recording studio producer or arranger for computer music. The stuff you can do with pc's today seems to have no limits and the technology gallops forward at a very fast pace. He's already sampled my bass sound and created a few songs using it. So there is hope.
