1. I totally love mine, never before have I enjoyed playing a Precision so much as I do with this Squier one. There is a short review in this month's Guitarist and they give it top marks. Goes to show that a quality instrument doesn't necessarily need to cost top bucks. +100000000000

 3.
That looks the business!!! More/bigger black spots on a silver background rather than white yeah that defiantly has novelty value thats for sure (one of them crazy idea's that you would never of thought about) But perfect for playing "Mootown" style music with
If you liked the Moo-ngo, then you're gonna love the other designs I made: The Dino Ferrari The Desert Storm The Spec Ops The Urban Camo The Tomato Soup The Seafoam Green The Emerald Pearl Green
 4.
It does look good, especially how the pattern lines up perfectly with the PG, just thought it was interesting looking, especially with the pink PU covers But as far as doing it to a Bong goes i agree with you not doing it but the Bongo is the kind of body shape that would carry it off, its the kind of body shape that will carry pretty much any colour or design off on it, but at the same time.... looks better on the Jazz
Well check out my mock up draft of the Bongo I designed in photoshop... if I was going to do it right, it would have looked the bollox
 5.
GW, gotta ask, what inspired the ??? moo jazz bass ??? , great stuff anyways
I always fancied a bass in a cow pattern, I was going to do a bongo like that but i though, if it goes pear shape I'd rather c*ck up a cheaper bass than an expensive one. I am pleased with the result
 6. Only the 4 strings have the slimmer Sterling neck, comparable to a Jazz neck, whereas the 5 strings are same as the StingRay 5 which isn't really that bulky and feels natural to most people.
 7.
I'm picking up my first T-40 tonight at about 7pm. I may take a crane with me, I'm told they're very heavy.
Here... you can borrow my little top - loader, the one next to my red bike
 8. 3 hours or less to go and its still a bargain at £147... plus £15 postage, any lucky buyers from here? It'll be interesting to see how much it will sell for in the next 3 hours.
 9.
Ah, unfortunately it had some issues issues with the neck when it arrived. I decided against waiting for another as it put me off in a way. Big Al 5 and Ray 5 will be more than enough anyway
What issues if you don't mind me asking, (feel free to pm me) but I can only speculate that you probably didn't like the lacquered neck feel?
 10. Agreed! Very good bass, oozes mids and creamy sounds! Yum
 11. Here is Dave Marks doing a video demo of the Big Al, in case you've mssed it: http://www.musicmanuk.co.uk/video_bigal.htm
 12. Well I have recently bought a very jazzy pickguard for a Squier Jazz bass from these funky people in Canada: http://greasygroove.com/ I specifically told them this was for a Squier and not a Fender, they told me that if it didn't fit with the holes that I could have sent it back for a full refund including postage. This is the pickguard I ordered and received: The good news is that it fitted the Squier perfectly: but it also fitted on an original American Fender Jazz bass that a friend of mine had. so it does fit both Squier and Fender, perhaps the Squier Classic Vibe have adopted the exact same size as the american Fender because as I've said it fitted fine. Then I also ordered a perloid pickguard for my other Squier Precision and that also fitted both my Squier and another American P-Bass so I say go for it, these people seem to have got it right
 13.
Oooh.... that's nice. It'll need to have a more sensible street price though. Is it just me (or the perspective of the photos) or is the headstock smaller than usual?? Also, when will manufacturers who put on 50 knobs and buttons finally devise some means of marking what they do. I'm sure they can come up with something more desirable than dymo-tape if they try, but nothing isn't really acceptable.
Again... I seem to repeat myself: The controls might look complicated to Joe Public but they are very intuitively easy to understand and when it comes out of the box it has a peel off sticker that tells you what does what such as this: To have an idea of the street price you must deduct an average of 15% from what stated on their website.
 14.
It's going to be very confusing if the circuit really is like in that diagram, with the Bridge pickup going through the Middle pickup switch and vice versa. You'd have thought it'd be complicated enough without tricks like that
It is simpler if you think it this way: 3 pickups - 3 individual on/off switches, when they are all in the off position this setup will give you the bridge and the middle in series as opposed to parallel wiring. Then... you have a passive / active switch and with that you get the wonders of both world, meaning that with the active circuit on you have a powerful 4 band eq: bass / treble / low mid and high mids. When in passive you have a very nice warm tone control which is is proper old school sweetness. How can this be so complicated to understand? I have a similar setup on my 25th Anniversary and it's a breeze to work with, the passive tones are really really captivating. Cheers
 15. As you know the Reflex is the descendent of the 25th Anniversary bass and it still shares all the same characteristics except the fancy quilted or flamed maple tops, it still has the mahogany tone block and the same pickup configurations i.e. Single Humbucker, Double Humbucker and Humbucker / Single / Single You've seen it here first! 16.
My Lord! It's got more knobs than all the ampless support bands at local summer festival put together! Seriously though, I kinda like it. The contours make it look comfy and it appears well balanced with that long horn.
Here is what does what:
 17.
Completely badass.
Cheers Zak, if you behave I'll let you have a go when I get it.
 18.
I would love to get one of these instruments ! Has anyone played one or got one ? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THEM AS A PLAYER / SOUND ETS ?
Jesus mate where have you been hiding, there's a few of us who have them and a few that have tried them and if you use the search button you'll find plenty of reviews, but don't bother HAHA they are all good reviews, these are blinking great big basses, they are! Keep an eye on this one on sale on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
 19. As if you needed further convincing that this bass is the dog's bollox here is a review just featured in this month's Bass Guitar Magazine, it echoes what myself and a lot of people have been saying about these fantastc basses and if you look in the review summary where it says Minus points, they state: NONE at this price. It's winner!! Squier Classic Vibe 50's Precision Bass
 20.
Candy *sob* Apple *sob* Red *sob* Pearloid *sob* Why did you have to show me that?? Very very nice!
Because you, Ritch, you jammy git, have a very nice Candy Apple Red 50th Anniversary Jazz and you've been making us all jealous with it. neener neener
 21.
I tried weighing my basses with a fishing scale once and it seemed to give a different reading every time! Is this scale a bit more accurate?
Yes mate, I was surprised as to how accurate it was, I first tested with the bag of sugar and a water jug with the reading on the side and each litre, gram or watever added was read accurately by the scale so, wow I really am impressed with it. What more can you ask for a fiver! I got it at the airport but my missus saw it for £4.75 in Morrisons (supermarket)
 22.
Nice colour. Goes well with the pearly plate and maple neck.
Yes it does but I have opted for plain Jane white as pearloid is not exactly up my street.
 23.
I doubt it will be any particular bargain - I expect it will reach pretty much its secondhand market value. I start all my auctions at 99p no reserve and no-one's had a quid guitar yet. Quite the opposite, in fact. Jon.
Well it seems to stay steady at £87 (with 11 bids for the last 24hrs), and if it stays in that region even with an extra £20 more including the £15 postage it's still going to be a lot cheaper than new or 2nd hand. Worth keeping your eyes on because with the right pickup, this is a whole lotta bass for the dough. Take it from me I've spent loads of cash on basses half the quality of this one, and all because they had a big name on the headstock.
 24. The Perfect Bass have pics of the exact same specs of the Big Al 5 which I have on order. (eta June/July) with the exception of the pickguard which I chose in plain white, this one is perloid but the rest of the combo is exactly as I've ordered it and gives me a close idea of what my bass will look like, what you reckon?
 25.
I've bodged together a new wiring kit out of some CTS pots and stuff I had lying around... The job will be completed properly once I decide on a new pickup. One question though, since the new pots have a fatter shaft, what do I do about the control plate and knobs? I guess I could drill the control plate to allow the shaft through, but I'm gonna have to source some knobs from somewhere. Suggestions?
http://www.absolutemusic.co.uk/store/index...;productId=2179
