1. I like Iron Maiden, and I do like Steve Harris, not an hardcore fan but I sensibly enjoy their music and I recognize the fact that S. Harris remains the band leader no matter what. I also happen to lust over that bass for the colour, the maple neck and for the mirrored scratchplate, besides this bass has received a very positive review from Ed Friedland and he is a voice to trust when it comes to anything to do with basses.

    Congrats

Nope but I was told anything up to 20 weeks, equal +/- 5 months. Don't know if that is accurate or not but that's what the distributor told the shop *(Bass Gallery in Camdem)*

  3.
I'm sure there's another thread on this very bass in this very colour :)

I played one of these the other day & it pounded a Mex Classic 50's Precision into the ground in terms of output & playability. They are very very good.
Yup! Right here: Link Here

  4.
Does that mean we can get back on topic now perchance?
Yes and if you ever want to try a bongo and you happen to be in or around London, send me a pm and I can arrange a meet for you to try it.

  5. Well you can do that with any UK official Ernie Ball Music Man retailers, so... let me help you first of all look for the official dealer close to you on this link:

    http://www.musicmanuk.co.uk/MMstockhome.htm

Then... from the official USA website choose the options you like, i.e. 4 or 5 strings, standard or classic, and all the other availability options which are annexed to every model from this link:

    http://www.music-man.com/instruments/

Once you've got it all worked out, call your nearest dealer or visit him, leave him a nice 10% (min) deposit and let the wait begin. Usually it can take up to 5 months max! I've ordered mine on April 13th and it's due beginning July.

Good luck, and don't forget to check out the new "classic series" which are also available in 5 strings. http://www.music-man.com/instruments/basse...stingray-5.html

  6. THE FLATWOUND STRINGS ARE NOW TAKEN

Wow, what an overwhelming response.... however sadly the strings will go to the first pm received and that is this chap called ___________________, someone also asked me where I got them cause they can't find them well here is the link:

    http://www.stringbusters.com/frameset.asp?...NGS/LA%20BELLA/

    Sorry and good luck

  7. Well ladies and gentlemen, I have a freebie for you all. This set of La Bella Deep Talkin' Bass Strings - model 760FL gauge 0.43 - 0.60 - 0.82 - 104

Unfortunately now I realize why in the last 20 years I have not bothered with flat strings, I just don't feel at home with them, they are a laugh for 5 minutes and they feel nice a comfy to play but, I don't like the way they choke the top end, so I took them off and put the slinkies back on.

They have been on the bass not more than 2 days, they were fitted to a precision bass and cut with plenty room to wrap around the posts, the first person that pm's me with their name and address I'll send them over for free.

They are still fresh I guess.

  8.
Wow! Adrenalin rush or what!

    You're my hero!
Thank you Sir you're too kind

if you like that, check this out: Wheelie Monster

  9.
'Hatred inciting propaganda'? What, criticising the way a bass looks? Hardly.
Anyway, you had a pop at him for ridiculing a forum member (I disagree, seeing as he was talking about the bass not you), but then you slagged off his entire family. So who's worse?
I am justifyably worse, when someone diss my bass i'll have at them, simple as. There's 100's of people here displaying their basses with pride and even though I have seen some real monstruosities I have not dared say a bad word about them as I respect people choices, but when an unknown, run of the mill, jack the lad tells me my bass should have a paper bag over the head or be hidden under a tree, he gets my blood boling, thinking, who the f*** are you to criticise my bass? Don't look at it if you don't like and we'll all move on harmoniously in the key of F

Have I made myself clear or do you want me to draw you a pic?

  10.
All well and good, but I notice you keep yours under a tree in the garden. Is that because it's too ugly to be allowed in the house? Personally I'd have put a bag over it so the tree doesn't get upset.
You know what funny man, if your humour was anything remotely intelligent I would have laughed at your joke but from your illogical statement above I pity you, as I can detect a deep innate ignorance that goes way back in your family genealogical tree, gloriously handed down to you from generation to generation way back to the cave men days.

For f*ck sake it's only a bass, you either like it or not.

You don't need to diss it to the point of ridiculing a member of a forum you don't even know, that is lack of respect and hatred inciting propaganda, grow the f*uck up!

  11.
I've got a Bongo 5HH in Desert Gold that I got off eBay for £900 that is absolutely mint. It's very quickly become my favourite bass - plays great, looks awesome and the 18v preamp puts out some MONSTER noise. Absolutely lethal when paired with a Shuttlemax 12.0!
I just can't work out how these basses still get such a bad rap. I honestly think its just because its now fashionable to hate them, but thats fine by me cos in 15-20 years when there are not many 'vintage' ones about mine will be worth a fortune!
Nice one dude, it's refreshing to see a young chap that sees the light!

  12.
I really feel for you man, but thought it cruelly ironic that you first picture posted said "attached thumbnail(s)".
That's just adding insult to injury.
Yeah, that's my rule of thumb, and yeah I give it the thumbs up

  13.
ouch !

luckily for you, that part of the thumb won't matter (unless you like that sexy thing).. :)

carry on playing bass man !!
Oh you better believe it, I have never stopped even when I got back from the hospital 4 days later I had a birthday party gig, they booked us before my accident and I didn't fancy turning them down, so I wrapped my stump in extra padding and surgical tape and I did the gig in agony and bleeding on my red stingray.

the uncomfortable thing was after the wound healed was to adapt to anchor what's left of the thumb to the body, assuming a new position with the picking fingers now closer to the strings and the fact that although I never played much with a pick now its really difficult (not impossible though) to use one. But on the plus side, slap its easier because the attack is more direct and the effect of bone knocking on the strings rather then flesh makes it sound more more percussive, a bit like Tony Levin's funk fingers extension sticks. Oh and for the pain, well that comes and goes, my nerves are obviosuly closer now to anything I hit or touch but I am developing a stronger pain threshold where I know its painful but I can ignore it and put up with it.

oh and I still do ride my bike regardless

  14. I've got a set of these La Bella Deep Talkin' 760FL set 43-104 and I've fitted them on the P Bass, I have not used flats in yonks, it's so weird not to have sliding friction caused by the strings wraps, it almost feels like a fretless.

I can't say I am 100% keen on flats but they do exactly what is expected of them in reproducing a vintage sound with a faithful motown vibe, not too bright and not too dull, something in between, very easy on the fingertips. I am warming up to them but seen as I have enough basses to get back to with roundwound strings it's nice to leave these on this P Bass as they don't spoil the sound of it and it's like a departure from the norm. I tell you what is fun, playing the bass line from Come Together (The Beatles) on flats is a right laugh :) or... There's nothing like this (Omar) really sound proper with these strings... aww all in a day's fun.

Shame I've got to sail this ship to France tonight... boohooo the joys of work. (not)

  15. Well to me the orange colour does nothing so I agree on that point but before everyone here discounts the 25th or the equivalent Reflex I suggest you remove your Fender blinkers and go try one.

    Then come back and apologize.

I own Fender basses too so I am not biased

  16.
Damn what happened to you?
Lost half of my right thumb in a bike accident
