4. hmmm. i dunno, you could message the seller asking why its the same pic, he may have just grabbed an image from a google image search or something
5. oh and if you still want the strap but don't want to go through them direct see if they have the one you're after on thomann http://www.thomann.de/gb/search_dir.html?sw=minotaur&x=0&y=0
6. really suprised by this, i've bought a fair bit from them over the years (for myself and presents for people) and never had any issues at all, i've contacted them before too when i stuffed up an order and they were really helpful amd sorted it all out really quick. very strange
7.
All instruments are easy to play. No instrument is easy to play well.
yeah probably that sums it up for me but almost everything thats been said here is true to me to some extent. i've played/currently play drums, bass or guitar in different bands and have done a couple of solo recordings where i play them all and for me they can all be easy or hard depending on the style of music etc or the type of player you are/strive to be i learnt to play drums tapping on the desks at school, once i got the hang of the basic co-ordination i tried it on a kit and it felt pretty natural to do take it from there with what i'd already learned. thats my favourite thing with drums over other instruments and in a sense of whats easier to learn; in order to learn or work something out on drums you don't really need to be anywhere near a drum kit. even now with the band i play drums in weekly most of the stuff i play in rehearsal has been thought out beforehand and practiced on my knees or my desk at work or whatever so once i get to the kit its all pretty much sorted that said, my dad was a drummer for years and my whole family are musical so maybe there's something in that too! we all seem to have a pretty good sense of rythm maybe just from being around music so much growing up. i do remember teaching a few different friends at school via the (patent pending!) desk drumming method and some people pick it up soooo quick, others struggle but i've never had anyone that just couldn't. also over the years with work, i've found it sooo much easier to show someone the basics of drumming than the basics of guitar or bass, just seems easier to explain somehow and get them to a stage of being able to play something that makes them feel like they're getting somewhere without wanting to quit cuz its too hard! so yeah for me it was easier to learn or get started cuz i didn't need to buy anything! i was able to teach myself all the basic ground work stuff before i went near a kit so in that sense its easier (and way more annoying for everyone around you - "matt, for gods sake please stop tapping" is still often yelled at me!)
8. hey guys, not actually my band but they messaged me to see if i was interested and i think realistically its too many gigs for me to commit to... they have 71 gigs booked in so far this year! i thought i'd spread the word for them and post it here for someone else to check out. http://www.lemonrock.com/barracoodas shaun's contact details are on the lemonrock page so drop him a line for any more info you need
9.
Good stuff! Sounds very professional and original. I do like. :-)
awesome! thanks for taking the time to listen!
10. just like to add to my above post about the GK cabs i'd bought off geester last year, when i bought them mike said he'd chuck in some GK cables for free so i could make use of the biamp thing... but they never arrived... i didn't fret as i didn't have a GK head anyway, so just left it last week i bought a GK head and messaged mike on the off chance he still had them (bear in mind this is months later...) and he apologised he hadn't sent them as he'd not been well for a while. they arrived yesterday and i now have the full Gk rig in all its glory! thanks mike you're a star!
11. more glowing praise for stephen, i bought a hartke ha3500 from him, good price, good comms etc etc all good right? not quite, the amp arrived super fast but didn't work (due, it turned out, to previous dodgy repair done before stephen took ownership of the amp) i messaged stephen asking what i should do and he gave me multiple options of which i chose to have it repaired locally and stephen settled the bill for me. its now up and running and its another example of why i love buying and selling equipment on here and dealing with good people like stephen, on the rare occassions things do go wrong we're always able to sort it out quickly and simply. awesome. would have no worries about buying from gapiro again!
12. bought a gallien krueger 1001rb-ii from etienne, the amp is in stunningly good condition and sounds great! it was packaged well and sent really quick. it was a really easy pleasant transaction and i'd have no worries about buying from etienne again good stuff!
13. bought a korg DTR-1 off nick, very happy as i've been looking for one for ages. good price, easy pleasant transaction and it arrived quick and very well packaged - what more could you ask?! legend. thanks Nick!
14. ha! fair comment. its just one of those where i couldn't think of anything to call it excet "i must be a sinner (cuz i'm sure as hell no saint)" and then thought; can i get away with a long title and brackets? i'm not meatloaf. cheers for listening gents, seriously much appreciated!
15. should've added the facebook page to the frist post - it has pics of the equipment i used and a bit of info and stuff - i'll edit it in there now but here it is http://www.facebook.com/snakeoilsalesmenuk
16. Thanks! all bass was recorded on my tobias toby pro acoustic! it was mic'd but also went through a hartke lh500 and ashdown 4x10 for a bit of guts. i took a bunch of basses in the studio but that bass just sounded so unusual and kinda right for the project, seeing as the other guitars were acoustic/semi acoustic. anyway here it is:
17. hey all, heres my latest solo ep thing of some of my songs. recorded in a local studio in plymouth, as with my last one i played all the instruments and did all the vocals (no one to blame but myself) check it out if you have a spare minute! the tracks are online in a few places - either of these links should do the job http://snakeoilsales...k.bandcamp.com/ http://www.myspace.c...keoilsalesmenuk Thanks Matt P.s.heres the facebook page in case anyone wants to 'like' it... you never know http://www.facebook.com/snakeoilsalesmenuk
18. i'd recommend getting one shipped over from america, there's tons more over there so prices are way lower, obviously you gotta add on shipping and import tax etc but i've bought 2 or 3 from there (yeah i'm a bit mad) and they all worked out around £300 or under
19. bought a pedal off sean, real easy transaction and it arrived quick, well packaged and in great condition, a pleasure doing business with you sir!
20. Bought mikes GK Neo cabs of him, great price and a really easy pleasant transaction. he sorted a courier to get the cabs to me as well as i had no way of getting them. Cabs arrived quick and pretty much mint condition. well happy!
21. try this guy http://www.facebook.com/tomanfieldguitars he's saltash/plymouth based. he's done a few minor bits and pieces for me - set ups etc and also some more serious stuff - re-attached a headstock and also fixed the top on an acoustic that was battered to pieces in transit. he's very good
22.
That recording is sweetened quite a bit. But I do rate the design and ergonomics of Tobias basses.
yeah always been one of my favourite designs, can't beat them for comfort and playability. i own a few, a toby pro, toby acoustic, mtd grendal and a tobias renegade... and really rate them all (yes even the cheap korean ones) always wanted a growler but they so rarely come up over here and i'm sick of getting stung on import tax!
23. just a thought but i don't believe you've metioned that this is a 'tobias'... it just says toby pro everywhere which is cool for those who know but maybe there are some people looking at it not knowing? also i searched tobias in this forum and this (obviously) didn't come up... now that i've written this it will. you can thank me by giving me the bass if you like?
