1. more glowing praise for stephen, i bought a hartke ha3500 from him, good price, good comms etc etc all good right? not quite, the amp arrived super fast but didn't work (due, it turned out, to previous dodgy repair done before stephen took ownership of the amp) i messaged stephen asking what i should do and he gave me multiple options of which i chose to have it repaired locally and stephen settled the bill for me. its now up and running and its another example of why i love buying and selling equipment on here and dealing with good people like stephen, on the rare occassions things do go wrong we're always able to sort it out quickly and simply. awesome. would have no worries about buying from gapiro again!
2. bought a gallien krueger 1001rb-ii from etienne, the amp is in stunningly good condition and sounds great! it was packaged well and sent really quick. it was a really easy pleasant transaction and i'd have no worries about buying from etienne again good stuff!
3. bought a korg DTR-1 off nick, very happy as i've been looking for one for ages. good price, easy pleasant transaction and it arrived quick and very well packaged - what more could you ask?! legend. thanks Nick!
4. ha! fair comment. its just one of those where i couldn't think of anything to call it excet "i must be a sinner (cuz i'm sure as hell no saint)" and then thought; can i get away with a long title and brackets? i'm not meatloaf. cheers for listening gents, seriously much appreciated!
5. should've added the facebook page to the frist post - it has pics of the equipment i used and a bit of info and stuff - i'll edit it in there now but here it is http://www.facebook.com/snakeoilsalesmenuk
6. Thanks! all bass was recorded on my tobias toby pro acoustic! it was mic'd but also went through a hartke lh500 and ashdown 4x10 for a bit of guts. i took a bunch of basses in the studio but that bass just sounded so unusual and kinda right for the project, seeing as the other guitars were acoustic/semi acoustic. anyway here it is:
7. hey all, heres my latest solo ep thing of some of my songs. recorded in a local studio in plymouth, as with my last one i played all the instruments and did all the vocals (no one to blame but myself) check it out if you have a spare minute! the tracks are online in a few places - either of these links should do the job http://snakeoilsales...k.bandcamp.com/ http://www.myspace.c...keoilsalesmenuk Thanks Matt P.s.heres the facebook page in case anyone wants to 'like' it... you never know http://www.facebook.com/snakeoilsalesmenuk
8. i'd recommend getting one shipped over from america, there's tons more over there so prices are way lower, obviously you gotta add on shipping and import tax etc but i've bought 2 or 3 from there (yeah i'm a bit mad) and they all worked out around £300 or under
9. bought a pedal off sean, real easy transaction and it arrived quick, well packaged and in great condition, a pleasure doing business with you sir!
10. Bought mikes GK Neo cabs of him, great price and a really easy pleasant transaction. he sorted a courier to get the cabs to me as well as i had no way of getting them. Cabs arrived quick and pretty much mint condition. well happy!
11. try this guy http://www.facebook.com/tomanfieldguitars he's saltash/plymouth based. he's done a few minor bits and pieces for me - set ups etc and also some more serious stuff - re-attached a headstock and also fixed the top on an acoustic that was battered to pieces in transit. he's very good
12.
That recording is sweetened quite a bit. But I do rate the design and ergonomics of Tobias basses.
yeah always been one of my favourite designs, can't beat them for comfort and playability. i own a few, a toby pro, toby acoustic, mtd grendal and a tobias renegade... and really rate them all (yes even the cheap korean ones) always wanted a growler but they so rarely come up over here and i'm sick of getting stung on import tax!
13. just a thought but i don't believe you've metioned that this is a 'tobias'... it just says toby pro everywhere which is cool for those who know but maybe there are some people looking at it not knowing? also i searched tobias in this forum and this (obviously) didn't come up... now that i've written this it will. you can thank me by giving me the bass if you like?
14. there's a pretty in depth review here: http://reviews.cnet....eview-49300273/ cheapest i can find them online new is £80 delivered, so....[s] any interest at £70 ono[/s] £60 delivered?
15.
Look like Gotoh (or copies) to me, can`t you buy them new from axerus etc?
yeah i think they're copies or unbranded gotoh GB7 tuners (but don't quote me on that), i was just hoping to avoid buying a set just to replace a washer! i'll have a scout around and see if i can buy single tuners
16. on a bass i bought recently it looks like the previous owner has tightened the screws on the machineheads to the point its mangled the plastic washer. i could've re-used the metal one but i lost it when i took them off to take these pictures; so, don't suppose anyone has any old broken tuners with these on?
17. yeah inovation silver slaps, real nice feel and sound
18. i've been thinking of selling my double bass if anyone around plymouth is looking for one, here's a link to the ad i just put up on gumtree: http://www.gumtree.c...dition/94271262
19. where abouts are you?
20.
Not willing to post due to the weight so collection only.
ARGHHHH!!
21. this is on ebay now if anyone wants to make an offer that way status
22. not actually sure about how to work out the 'pro' series serial number but they're definitly a post gibson takeover line of basses. they're fairly recent, early to mid 2000's (i think i bought mine in 2003?), made in korea to the gibson/tobias design, sold through a company called musicyo for a few years then they disapeared! i've owned a couple, still own one that i really like.
23.
How about a Spector Rebop 4 DLX?
PM'd
