  1. I’m not sure, I figured it was an attempt to stop that wandering g string (my new band name) but yeah it may be even weirder than that… perhaps the only way to truly know is to buy it!
  2. Uke bass I admire the ‘have a go/DIY’ attitude of this nearly as much as the idea that someone will pay money for it.
  3. I feel like I’ve seen this one before, (maybe not in this classy finish?!?) but it’s worth sharing again for sure. Stand out from the crowd! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225022596022?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=51TubJQGTbK&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=grgAUcadT-W&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  4. very much agree with all this! One of my favourite amps ever GLWTS!
  5. Easy and pleasant transaction with Vin, first class communication throughout, seriously well packaged and a bargain! thanks very much!
  6. you see this is what will end up making me buy one! I dismissed it when I realised that although I just love octave pedals in general, that the OC-2 is still my favourite, no matter how many I buy! I’ve never owned the OC-3 or OC-5 though so perhaps the latter could be worth a try Trouble is I’ve ended up in a weird obsessive quest to try every clone of the oc2, I have no idea why!?
  7. well that’s no fun, I was genuinely interested to see if something like this would sell. I remember seeing Michael Anthony in Bassist magazine many moons ago with his… it’s certainly not a bass you forget! to be honest it’s the only reason I remember his name!!
  8. yeah, I mean he did say in the listing that it just “hangs on my wall as an ornament” - maybe that’s the best place for it!
  9. There’s one On EBay if anyone is interested? I’m not cool enough to pull it off… but perhaps you are!?
  10. Sad to have to move it on, but good choice on the renown! I very nearly bought one of those a few years back but and ti the realisation I’d always wanted a decent yamaha kit, so it was time to just get one!
  11. These are awesome basses, and this one has already had the weakest bit upgraded! If I didn’t already have one in this finish, I’d be tempted for a second one!
  12. love it, great looking kit for sure! I have an old premier kit my Dad learned on, he gave it to me to learn on when I was a teenager… I’ll hang on to it in the hope one of my kids likes the idea of drumming and I can pass it down to them
  13. yeah I had that one too but then got a Marshall Guv’nor (which it’s meant to be a clone of) so I sold it
  14. I’ve owned the Fab Tone too… it is insane. I was expecting some vintage light overdrive by the look of it… but woah!
  15. Yep, I’ve owned a few of these over the years, sold them each time due to lack of use… I tried other pedals but eventually just gave up and decided chorus wasn’t for me. Then recently I got another in a job lot of pedals and gave it a quick try, search over, this is what I was looking for in a chorus pedal after all! Chorus still isn’t my favourite effect but if/when I need it, I’ll be using one of these for sure
  16. At one point I owned a silly amount and would frequently lend things to friends and family members, just to get them out of the way! I think that’s when I realised it was getting out of hand
  17. So, I finally played my first Westone bass… it’s really good! I know there’s alot said about these, and people are very much in the know anyway…. But I’m really surprised by how nice it is to play and how good it sounds. Especially considering this model is very simple (and a lower/student model type thing) but it just sounds right wherever I put the tone knob. I know the thunder basses are the ones that get the most attention, but which other models should I keep an eye out for? Even just in the spectrum series of basses there seems to be quite a few different models… I’m still learning what’s what, it’s clearly gonna take a while!
  18. That’s very cool, I’ve been thinking lately of trying to build a tiny version of my kit for when my kids want to jam along with me… this makes me even more convinced it’s a good idea!
  19. Yeah I saw the bamboo ones and was like “add that to the shopping list…” then I saw the price! Maybe not! sounds like a very cool collection, I’m trying to steer clear of the signature drums for the sake of the bank balance. I think I know the brass custom absolute you speak of… I’m trying to also limit myself to one of each material (so I can compare etc)… but I couldn’t resist getting the bigger steel like the mini one I have… maybe that’ll have to be one of each size, in each material! Brass next hopefully, then maybe aluminium. It’s an expensive interest!
  20. yeah they’re really good, I only bought that mark iii to get the cab it came with but it’s too good to move on! I love how they’re pretty much the exact opposite of my Gallien Krueger rig. The distortion out of them is awesome too! the century has been my secret weapon for a while, sounds great in the studio for big dirty vintage tones
  21. nice! There are worse problems to have for sure! I have to set limitations on my collecting nature or it just gets out of hand. I’m only allowing myself Yamaha MIJ stuff (which is killing me the newer stuff I want to try) or premier if they’re really cheap. Here’s pics of some of the collection! steel 14x6.5 & 10x5.5 little 14x4 birch custom piccolo FRP - fibreglass reinforced plastic snare, 2 pics to show how I can illuminate it! the sad thing is I’ve barely been able to play any of them yet… one day soon, I hope
  22. Here’s my Yamaha kit! Not the best pic - finish is a sparkly white kinda thing. I too had Gretsch before this… I’ve owned various brands but always loved Yamaha stuff so in the end I just sold everything else and went Yamaha. I too have/have had Yamaha PA stuff, basses, guitars etc. you can’t go wrong with Yamaha! one weird side effect from COVID/lockdowns was I joined a group on Facebook called ‘snares’ and decided to start a collection of Yamaha snares (I got a little sidetracked and picked up some Premier ones too!).
  23. Hey! yep, drummer over here! I play a Yamaha Oak Custom X kit and I love it! Sadly I haven’t really been able to play since the whole global pandemic thing… and then I moved house… and there’s another baby on the way… but, you know, soon! How about you? What drums are you favouring at the moment?
  24. The one on the right, the other one is my Auntie, and guitarist is my uncle!
