Should this not be reported to the police? The evidence is conclusive, after all.
Scum bag. That's my SBR-150 and those are my photographs that I posted on this site. I've reported it to ebay. Those pictures have been lifted from here.
Holy $h1t, that's awful. I'm glad I posted this ... I knew it didn't add up.

It's the same guy that's (apparently) selling the SB1000. I put a post up about that a couple of days ago in the "ebay/ weird and wonderful" section of the forum. Dodgy as hell!!!

NOW SOLD Gallien Krueger MB150E combo + MBX112 extension cabinet. Classic, compact, high-end bass amplification, as used by many top players. These are the cream of the GK MicroBass range, made in the USA, using the highest quality of componentary. Basschatters will be aware of the excellent reputation of this gear. If not, there are plenty reviews to check out online, and there's a link to the manual (below) if you're after the full specifications. I'm selling the combo and cab together as a pair. The cab dramatically enhances the sound and performance of the set-up, utilising the full capacity of the amp, enrichening the tone, and raising the volume. It's a very solid 150w, surprising powerful, tight, and clean. I've used this set-up to good effect with electric basses, although they are also highly recommended for use with upright bass. Basic Specifications -

150w output with MBX112 ext cab.
XLR line level and quarter-inch loudspeaker connectors.
12-inch low-resonance Paragon woofer (2x12" including ext cab).
Active four-band EQ.
Adjustable contour, high boost, and low cut.
Boost (valve effect).
Stereo chorus (foot switchable).
Built-in Limiter with sweep control.
Send, return, line out, and headphone out.
Light and strong aluminium cabinet construction.
Dimensions (W,D,H): 13.5 x 8.5 x 16 inch.
Weight: Combo - 11.8kg
Overview / Review - http://www.performin...llienkruger.htm (this is worth reading). Product Manual - http://www.gallien-k...-III-Manual.pdf Condition / History - The Combo ... I bought the combo approx 10 years ago so I assume it's from the original series of the model. I've used it on its own for practice, rehersal, and small gigs, and as a stage monitor with a line out on bigger occasions. Everything operates exactly as it should; there is no noise, no hisses, no crackling, no scratchy pots, no sticky switches, nor anything else you don't want. It's in perfect working order and functions beautifully. Cosmetically, there is a patina of use. There are a few scratches and marks on the paintwork. These are superficial however. I've made them as visible as possible in the photographs so that they shine in the light. The Extension Cab ... I bought the cab approx 1 year ago (series III?). I've used it during rehersal only. It's in perfect working order. The cosmetic condition is perfect too (with the exception of one small dent on a corner). Price - £450. Postage will cost extra (Let me know your postcode and I'll work out exactly how much). Trade - I'm after either a 2x10" combo, or a 2x10" cab + Amp Head. I'm fussy, but open to offers. Whatcha got? Message me if you're interested, have any questions, trade offers, etc. Photo 1 - combo and extension cab together Photo 2 - front of combo Photo 3 - back of combo Photo 4 - extension cab Photo 5 - wee dent on corner of ext cab
Got my hands on my second Warwick recently, 2008 Streamer Jazzman custom shop in French Violet with matching headstock and planet inlays. Sounds and feels great, so different to my Streamer 6, not least in it has the much thicker Ovankol neck profile. Enjoy
Sexual!

I know how some folk cream themselves over the OC-2 with its glitchy sex factor, etc, but the OC-3 is a fine pedal too. Less celebrated, but great in its own right. ... Well built, simple, dedicated input for Bass, super quiet operation, the range sweep is really effective, and in "polyphonic" mode the tracking is pretty damned good. Noticably better than its predecesor, to be sure. Granted, the "OC-2" mode on the OC-3 doesn't sound like the original, but if that's what you're after then an actual OC-2 is surely the answer. The "Drive" mode on the OC-3 is great too. With the octave peeled right back it turns the OC-3 into a fantastically grunty and full-sounding bass distortion pedal. Seriously good. I love the thing. If I was Pat Butcher I would wear a pair of them as earrings.

Bridges: Schaller vs Gotoh vs Baddass. GO!
Fionn replied to ChickenKiev's topic in Repairs and Technical
Couldn't comment on Gotoh, Badass is over-priced, the Schaller 3D is the dogs baws. The rolling saddle string spacing adjustment on the 3D works really well. -
This doesn't add up. The seller (new seller/no feedback) has presented 2 photos. One is a stock photo of a SB1000JT (black hardware), The other is a stock photo of a SB1000 re-issue (gold plated hardware). In his very brief description he says the bass is c.1980, mint, plays as new, and he is the only owner. When someone asks about the actual colour of the hardware on the bass being sold he says the tuners are gold plated. This wasn't the case on early SB's, they were chrome. There are 22 bids on this bass thus far. Seems slightly odd to me. not very confidence-inspiring ... I had terrible neck-dive issues with my previous bass (Warwick Thumb). This is caused by the balance point of the bass being off-set by the short top horn. This also makes the 1st fret feel far away. All very fatigue inducing really. As much as I loved that bass, and percivered with straps, playing positions etc, it had to let it go. I now play a bass which sits where it should and gives me ache-free playing. Getting a better balanced instrument is the ultimate answer really.

If you haven't seen this before, fans of early Jamiroquai / Stuart Zender might want to check out this concert, recorded at Club Citta, Japan, in 1993. Absolutely classic stuff, the band at their very best, good recording too. The concert breaks down into chapters so easy to jump to the tunes that you particularly want to hear. Enjoy, funksters ... Classic or Cliche? ... it's both. I used to hate it. I still do in almost all applications. That said, I lust for a Jazz Bass ... A sunburst Jazz Bass, tort, and rosewood. That's the classic implication which ooooozes the funk of the 70's (in my imagination, at least). Aye, both classic and cliche, to be sure.

A brass nut will certainly aid the sustain and clarity of notes played on the open strings. On Warwick basses the frets are also made of brass so in my opinion it makes absolute sense for the nut to be of the same material. Then you'll get the same resonance from a either a fretted or open note. There is a good reason why Warwick have reverted to putting brass nuts on all of their current production basses.

Precision Lyte sounds cheap enough to me
Fionn replied to itsmedunc's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Great bass! I wonder if that's the same one that's for sale on here -
When I'm crossing from finger-style to slap I simply roll the highs off a bit using the control on the bass. That's what works for me. If you needed more control, an eq pedal would shape the particular slap tone you wanted. Like Crez5150 said, the drop in volume is more likely percieved due to the difference in the shape of the note played, and this can be remedied somewhat by eq'ing. I would think a compressor (running continuously) to be essential also, in the interests of neatness.

Thank you for that. Nice wee resource there. It's good to hear those Jazz Bass comparisons. That's very useful for anyone with a Jazz on their shopping list (such as moi). It would be interesting to hear some Warwicks in there.
