One of the best 5 strings on the market today. Bass player magazine did a round up of all high end fives on the market about 8 years ago. Despite still competition this bass won hands down. I own the 4 string version and love it Good luck with the sale Thats a good price as the new price would be about £3500

This Sadowsky used to belong to me and let me just say the following : Current Sadowsky's do not compare the earlier models. Im not saying one is better or worse but the modern Sadowsky has a number of differences that I just dont like, similar to the changes that CBS made to Fender. 1. Jordi's Sadowsky is extremely light, but its not chambered. Sadowsky currently chambers his instruments to get the weight down but back in the day he was getting choice lightweight ash etc to produce rediculously light but resonant instruments. 2. The neck on this bass is much slimmer in dept when compared to the modern version. A mate of mine played mine and ordered a brand new NYC Sadowsky and got it shipped directly. He found the neck profile to be so different to mine that he sent it back to be reshaped. 3. The neck heel has been reshaped. It has been contoured slightly and the neck plate is now gone (apart from vintage models) 4. The preamp now features a vintage tone control that I dont particularly like but thats a personal matter. So for me Jordi's Sadowsky is a nicer bass than the current models comming from Sadowsky. But as I say this is a presonal thing. I love the slimmer neck, the lightweight body and the straight forward bass/treble boost preamp. Also Jordi is a gentleman to deal with. I took a bass of his as part exchange against the Sadowsky. He actually shipped it to me along with the money transaction before I sent him my Sadowsky so that I could be happy with his bass first. Deal in confidence on a cracking bass. If I had my choice between a new Sadowsky (made to order) or this, I would chose this one!

Fender Custom Shop '59 Precision NOS light Sparkle Burgundy Mist. SOLD.

The late 60's decal is typical of what Fender Custom Shop do. They dont follow the original models to the letter I had a 1960 Custom Shop Jazz bass but it didnt have stack knobs. The tuners they use are not correct either, pre cbs instruments had fewer threads on the back and were more difficult to fine tune. -

Hi I have a beautiful Blackbox Cobalt preamp/overdrive pedal that I would be willing to trade for that fuzz. I dont need an overdrive anymore Its a handmade pedal with gain, drive, bias and vol controls/ You can keep the drive down and use it as a clean boost or add bias to change the tone before adding drive and gain to overdrive the lot Great pedal Thanks

Thanks for all the info Yes I recall something about it being originally brought out for Jeff Andrews who played precision basses with jazz pickups and with the three precision control knobs and two fender ones. So Jimmy pretty much copied that style of modified Fender that Andrews was using. It was then decided to give the bass to Willie Weeks who liked it and was a friend of Jimmy Coppolo. Weeks used it a little when on tour with Clapton. They planned to launch it as a Willie Weeks model and it was up on the old Alleva Coppolo website as a signature model but the idea never materialised. I dont know what the fingerboard is. Its certainly some form of dark brazillian rosewood.
