  1. Bump for a great amp. I played through it at home last night and it sounds unreal. The sound is best described as valve warmth and fast response with smooth clear high end. The amp doesnt have a mark on it, pristine.
  2. Hi I have two great DI boxes available 1. Avalon U5. Absolutely mint £350 2. Raven Labs APD 1. This is an extremely rare DI made by Steve Raven who also founded SWR. THis is in VGC £175 Thanks Paul
  3. Yeah, 2k was the going rate on the DB750. The new DB 751 is lovely but they made a few changes that I didnt like such as the rubber control knobs and plastic switches but if the tone is still there who cares! Hope you enjoy it
  4. I am downsizing my rig at the moment so this needs to go. The DB750 is the Rolls Royce of bass amps. This one is one of the later models just before they changed to the DB751 which are not quite as nice (imo) Its in excellent condition and it is housed in the optional Aguilar rack Case (tolex with chrome corners) These cost about 2k new at the moment without the case (which is an extra £150) Selling for £1100 WIll send photos by email if required but I am having trouble posting them here Thanks
  5. I had a 6 pak combo and it sounded great but not loud enough without added cabs. Briefcase is too quiet to gig and the flight case is nice but mellow and not loud enough either. All great for acoustic or upright. The 12 b cab is loud but too heavy even though it's neo. The stuff was well made but u need to remember that to get the power of a STD 410 cab you would need a 16 speaker PJB cab! They do have a new model called the road case that might be nice but I'm not sure. Try before u buy with the PJB stuff, that's what I say.
  6. I could never use the di on my terror bass, way too hot for our pa desk. I just used a di box.
  7. I am selling a gorgeous PRS Custom 22. This is a 10 Top model (expensive upgraded flame top) with a black/cherry red finish. I estimate it to be from 1997. It has volume, tone, pull (for coil tap) and a 3 way selector switch. The bridge is the fixed hardtail model (no tremelo) Pickups are Seymour Duncan humbuckers. The guitar is in excellent overall condition with just some natural wear on the finish but no dents through the laquer or anything like that. Hardware is chrome. It comes with the original PRS Tolex hardcase which has a few minor nicks on the tolex but nothing major. I am looking for £1600 Pics to follow (pics can be emailed upon request) Thanks
  8. Pm'd re-Buster head
  9. Bump for a great preamp/overdrive Flanger is new and gives a great chorus sound also Fuzzsaw is a cool fuzz, small package just one control knob, simple but great.
  10. 3 gone, 3 to go. The Oohlala really is a great pedal. Handmade preamp that gives a great natural clean sound but allows you to add in serious dirt. The Fuzzsaw is just nuts. The Flanger, Almost brand new, never used, serves as a great chorus or full on Flanger
  11. Woolly Mammoth and Multi Comp now sold All others still available
  12. All Pm's replied to ZVEX Mammoth is now sold!
  13. Hi Tom Im in Ireland and I will include postage Cheers Paulie
  14. Due to a change of direction I have decided to offload all of my effects pedals : They are as follows : 1. (SOLD) ZVEX WOOLY MAMMOTH : This is the recent version. Its in good condition. It spent its life on a pedal board, one or two tiny nicks in the finish here and there. Excellent pedal, great tone. No box. This is a handmade boutique pedal with a quirky sound. Price £165 2. OOHLALA BLACKBOX PRE-AMP : Gorgeous preamp/distortion effect pedal. This also spent its life on a pedal board. Again it has slight signs of wear on the finish. This is a handmade boutique pedal, quite rare. It can be used as a simple boost pedal or it can add a little grit to your tone or quite a lot, depending on how much drive or bias you add. No box. Price £130 3. (SOLD) GALLIEN KRUGER DIESEL DAWG : Bass distortion pedal. This thing is huge and it sounds huge. It has a massive footprint but works with a standard 9v battery or power supply. This is in excellent condition but 2 of the 8 small base attachment screws are missing. They are not required, 4 would even be fine but just so you know. Otherwise its mint. These are now extremely rare but well sought after. Price £95 4. (SOLD) EBS MULTICOMP : This is the first version of the famous bass compressor. Great pedal with a great natural compression. This is in good condition, slight wear and tear but very good condition overall. Price £60 5. FUZZSAW : As the name suggests this is a bass overdrive Fuzz pedal. Just one control knob for adding Fuzz. This thing is crazy. Price £65 6. BOSS FLANGER : This is the latest version of this well loved pedal. It is designed for guitar and bass. This one is almost unused, in the box not a scratch on it. Price £65 PM for pics if required. Cheers Paulie No box
  15. Jesso Its your mate in Galway, Paulie Here Just to let you know that I was the previous owner of this bass and its a cracker. I bought it from the Gallery in London. Its light, in excellent condition and plays like a dream. Its 100% original except for the hsc which is actually an early 70s case also, just may not have come with the bass. The screw holes on the back were from a name plate which the original shop would have added (quite normal back in the day) I sold it as I just dont get along with precisions, but I've owned a few and this was definately the cream of the crop. If this bass was in a vintage guitar store it would sell for 3k easy. Bargin! Good luck with the sale Paulie
  16. I purhcasd an Avalon DI off Silent Fly and the deal was effortless. He arranged shipping for me and packaged the Avalon perfectly. The item was exactly as he had described (immaculate) Would recommend to anybody
  17. I am selling my Raven Labs APD-1 DI I purchased it from The Gallery a few years ago. THey were widely regarded as one of hte best DI's on the market. Raven Labs are no longer in operation so this unit is now quite rare. It is in good condition with no issues whatsoever. It has had little use as I have a good Jensen DI built in to my Aggi DB750 and as a result had little use for a DI box. One one corner of the outer casing the paint has been worn to expose the metal core (whcih has oxidized slightly), this are is tiny and its almost unnoticibile but I thought Id mention it. These used to sell for up to £300 and they are now extinct. So grab a bargin at £170! I can post it for £10 Pics to follow. Thanks
  18. Hi Based in Ireland but shipping by courier is included in my price. As for a test drive, just imagine a gorgeous rick that balances perfectly, where all the notes are even across the board and the classic Rick punch is all there. This bass is gorgeous (and I have owned 3 before, but this is definately the nicest Ive tried) I just dont need it Thanks
  19. Hi I am selling a Rickenbacker 4003 which is new, ungigged, purchased just before Christmas! I took this bass from a shop which owed me credit. I had thought about gigging it but I dont need it as I use a 64 Jazz and Alleva Coppolo almost exclusively now. This bass is gorgeous. It has the vintage tone control and comes in the Rick case with all the case candy. This bass was tried out by me in the shop as soon as it came into stock, it travelled from there to my home and it has remained unused in its case ever since. Both the case and guitar are new condition. Its a really nice light-mid weight Rickenbacker. The neck is really smooth and the action is low with zero buzz and a straight neck. SOunds really nice. I have owned a few of these in the past and liked them but this one really is a joy to play and it has that beautiful smooth upper mid sustain and low mid punch. I am selling it for £1400 and I will cover the cost of shipping. So you are getting a new bass (excellent example) at about £400 - £600 below the current selling price. Pics to follow (once I figure out how to downsize them to suit here) Thanks

Just a feeler at the moment but I am considering selling or trading my Taylor AB-3 Acoustic Bass Guiar. Designed by Steve Klien and Bob Taylor, these instruments are the holy grail of acoustic bass. They were only manufactured for a brief period during the 90's but are considered the best acoustic out there. They are unique due to thier large size and specially controured body shape which is extremely deep on the treble side. The neck is thin like a jazz bass and the electronics are vol, treble and bass. They made 3 versions of these instruments. The AB-3 is different to previous models as it has a flame maple back and sides, spruce top, its bound and it has a gloss finish. This bass is in very good condition with just a tiny blemish / dent in the laquer at the edge of the lower bout. Other than that its tip top. It comes with the original Taylor heavy duty gig bag and it has been recently set up with new strings etc. Action is nice and neck is perfect etc. There is a cracked AB-2 on ebay the moment for $2200 (buy it now) A Taylor bass in good condition can go from there up to about $3000 Ill price mine at £1650 Pics attached are of an almost identical instrument for sale in the US recently (pics of mine will follow) Thanks Paulie
  21. These cabs are unreal, the volume and punch they produce. The 212 version has tons of low end. while the 210 has plenty. Good luck with the sale.
  22. I have one but I live in Ireland so Im not much help here. I just wanted to say that the Terror sounds amazing especially when used through one of their new cabs. I use it with the 212 and it sounds old school with loads of power and punch. It really is a loud amp and the sound is great for passive bass, ie Precision or Jazz. Its impossible to get a bad sound from the amp but on the flip side its almost impossible to alter the tone. The 3 band eq does very little, (just like an old valve amp) you cant turn up the treble and get a slap sound. So if the old school warm thump is what your after or a rock tone, this is the amp. But if you want a more modern hifi sound dont even bother trying it.
  23. I love the Eden sound, its similar to the early SWR sound, Warm but modern also. The only issue I had with Eden was a slight lack in volume. I used the 1000 watt Eden power amp and I felt it a little lacking, even when compared to a 500 watt amp

    EBS or Sansamp?

I have tried the EBS and its really well made but I hated it. THe sansamp will make any amp sound like a 70's SVT so if you like that sound, go for it
