    I had one of these and only sold it when I switched to a rock band. The build quality is unbelievable. Feels like it was made 100 years ago and built to last a lifetime. Plays and sounds like a full double bass. Soft warm thump! GLWS

    I bought a J&D bass for my 8year old boy Sea foam green with tort plate and rosewood neck. Its a fab bass.

    I don't like the Aguilar's at all. Better than stock US jazz pickups but way behind many others Ive tried They sound generic and soft to me Get Fralins, best Ive ever tried bar none!

    I had a Fodera that I bought used. It was mint and I spent the whole time worrying about putting a ding on it as any mark was going to effect the resale value by a huge amount. If I ever buy one again it will be an old used one that has been well played in. But they are hard to come by. Ill have to wait until Victor decides to sell me his....

    Try the EBS It alters the tone a little but in tube mode it sounds great. Compression is subtle but effective

    I use the Volto power up 4 9v pedals. An Empress comp, an Aguilar Agro, Baja Mos boost and a TC tuner. Comp stays on all night. As a matter of habit I just recharge the volto after every 2nd gig and its normally always half full. Just charge up after each gig, it doesn't take long

    Norwood is based in France. It may not have been possible for him to try this out before buying. Also what sounds great in the shop may not suit you live. So there are many reasons to buy an amp that is not your thing!
