  4. Just announced by his wife on Facebook: "Our Nick. Last night Nick's cancer finally took him away from us. He fought and endured so much from the inital diagnosis 11 years ago, to the second then third reoccurrence. Our fighter until the end. Tenacious, stubborn, fiercely loyal and a complete Dr Dolittle. It's a surprise there are only 3 dogs in the house such was his love of animals. The compromise, a constant stream of bass guitars, "but this one makes the sound I need" only to leave the house a short time later! And latterly his love of Star Wars specifically the franchise Lego filled most available spaces. He loved and was loved completely and there's now a huge void that will never be filled. I have some favours to ask, please hug your loved ones a little tighter today, and please share any stories/anecdotes/memories and photos you have of Nick."

  18. Against my own better judgment, I present 'Wishadelic Demotune', a mix of two of the great audible art installations of the past decade - namely, Psychedelic Tuning and the infamous Wishbass Demo from youtube. I apologise in advance if this causes distress or genuine harm. It may be an idea to remove small children or animals from the room first. Psychedelic Wishtune.mp3 EDIT: on second thoughts, I shall rename it 'Wishadelic Demotune'.
  19. In fairness, it could be that blyn doesn't have a regular gig that suits fretless. I've had a fretless bass sitting around gathering metaphorical dust for some years, but I've only just started using it in anger this year for a few songs with the new neo-prog project we're putting together. Neither of my other bands would work at all with fretless.
  20. Absolutely same as the OP. In my bass-drobe are the perfect tools for the bands I'm in. Tonally I've got pretty much all the bases covered (pardon the intentional pun) that I need to, with the possibly exception of 'fretted Stingray'. I do.not.need any more basses, at all. Yet still I look at them, still I covet them, still I occasionally buy them even when I can't afford them (looking at you, Status). And the irony from the above is that I never look at/covet Stingrays.

  22. Not a bassist, but this is Peter Dinklage apparently playing in a ska band (YES!) in the mid 90s.
