  1. That look says it all
  2. The Last Farewell - Roger Whittaker Sorry.
  3. No. No. Hell no.
  4. That's definitely one of the better SC shapes I've seen. Lovely bass. However... just a thought... the ramp (I'm presuming it's homemade?) is a bit scruffy and lets it down a bit. Maybe consider a coat of paint on the ramp, or taking it off altogether for the pics?
  5. @alyctes -- has this gone?
  6. Walk the Dinosaur - Was (Not Was)
  7. Whenever, Wherever - Shakira
  8. 3 a.m. Eternal - KLF
  9. The Gambler - Kenny Rogers
  10. Zombie thread alert! found this earlier, too lovely not to share. Beautifully melodic bass solo too. I love the look that bass & drums share at 0:04. Says it all.
  11. Public Image - PiL
  12. Super Duper Love - Joss Stone
  13. Ice Cream - Blackpink / Selena Gomez
  14. Pins are absolutely not an issue, I'll take a pinless badge over no badge any day. Dad you're a superstar, thank you.
  15. Are you confident that the neck will withstand the substantial increase in string pull? I saw a comment on (I think) Farcebook the other day from someone who'd converted their 4 to an 8 and ended up with a neck that Robin Hood could have fired arrows from. Something to look out for. Personally if I was to make an 8 (and I've considered it a few times) I'd consider using a narrow-spaced five string as a basis. OLP 5-string 'Ray perhaps?
  16. I love the range of adjectives we use to describe the sound of our basses. So far on this thread, we've had: aggressive, airy, alive, articulate, balls, bark, bright, brittle, clean, crystalline, dynamic, dark, edge, full ranged, grit, growl, generic, honk, indifferent, lively, nasal, nasty, open, punchy, resonant, singing, smooth, snappy, thick, thin, tight, twangy, unrefined, upper-middy, warm, and woody. And yes, I even sorted them into alphabetical order. Actually yes, it IS a slow work day at the moment, how did you know?
  17. At one time, I had an ex-jukebox 7" single of Do Nothing by The Specials ('featuring Jerry Dammers and the Ice Rink String Sounds'), the label of which had Rs in place of all the Ns. It was "Do Rothirg by The Specials (featurirg Jerry Dammers ard the Ice Rirk Strirg Sourds)". Don't know what happened to it. Probably not worth a lot but it was quite funny.
  18. Ebeneezer Goode - The Shamen
  19. Prelude No1 in C major - J.S.Bach
  20. You should've been doing it in 1986. I paid £300 for my Pro 2E.
  21. I watched a street vendor in Jakarta carving these things from bits of old plank using a crappy little knife and a few files. He asked the equivalent of 30p for this one (it's about 8" tall) and seemed surprised when I didn't haggle. I'd say they're pretty good with a piece of wood
  22. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hohner-The-Jack-Headless-Bass-Guitar/203249988124?hash=item2f52a4b21c:g:zD0AAOSw05JfuVUQ
  23. Interstellar Overdrive - Pink Floyd
  24. Live Fast Die Young - Hollywood Undead
  25. For me, the classic TE sound, the one I love, isn't Mark King or Ox or Zender or any of those. It's the sound *I* got from *MY* Trace SMX head back in the day. And when I say 'in the day', I'm not talking about the bloody 80s. I couldn't afford a Trace then.
