  1. I haven't bought a single item of music gear this year. Not so much as a pick. Hoping to put this right with a NAD in the new year though.
  2. Getting my skank on with Train To Skaville this summer. 😎
  3. I listen to an awful lot of prog. I find lyrics are often cringeworthy and for me they get in the way a bit. I prefer the instrumental passages/tunes.
  4. A further edit is required... 2. @Rich's Garden Of Delights - Jabba’s Semi Hollow Fretless (which @Rich will sneak off with while @Frank Blankand @wrinkleygit are busy exchanging handbags at 10 paces whilst @Jabba_the_gut tries unsuccessfully to referee, and will steadfastly refuse to acknowledge responsibility, despite @Frank Blank's repeated threats to keep dropping his strides until the bass is returned). Some basses, an amp, something about strings.
  5. For some reason, I'm not remotely surprised
  6. This is what you need. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F253063067460 Also, it's not true that good replacement knobs 'don't exist'. They do. Unless I'm imagining the ones I fitted to my bass, that is...
  7. Oi I'll have you know it was anything other than puny Have to say though, I'd love to get my hands on a WT800
  8. @Pea Turgh I can definitely recommend the Eden WT amps. I had a WT400 for many years and it was wonderful. They're classics.
  9. I'm a bit late to the party, but this may be of interest... https://circuitswiring.com/20hz-to-200hz-variable-high-pass-filter/
  10. Attendance & Gear List: 1. @Frank Blank’s Acoustic Corner - Godin A4, Rob Allen Mouse, Ibanez SRC6, QSC K12.2, Helix Stomp, HX Edit. 2. @Rich's Garden Of Delights - Shuker custom 5, Tanglewood acoustic 4, EBS Neo 2x12 & probable new amp (tbc) - both basses strung with nickel Elixirs. Possibly some FS stuff, details tbc once it hits the paid Marketplace. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. This is a drill.
  11. Wowser. If this is still around after xmas, I may very well be seriously interested (minus case and tuner)...
  12. This x1000 with knobs on.
  13. It's not the fact that people here are quick with -ve opinions that bothers me. Opinions are like arrseholes, after all. It's statements along the lines of "last night's programme didn't feature any music that was to MY particular taste, therefore the entire show is crap and past its sell-by and should be canned" that get my goat.

I've just decided on my next project. Not sure whether to rackmount it or put it in a stomp though.
  15. Oh thank god. There is someone else out there who is just as anal about their wiring as I am about mine beautiful job, sir.
  16. I currently have these 4 albums on a fairly heavy rotation. I'd forgotten how superb they were. How the hell can Dazzle Ships be 36 years old???
  17. That's an excellent idea! Cans and Pandora going on the stuff-to-take list.
  18. My first good amp was a Laney Pro Bass 4x10 combo like this. I gigged the sheeite out of it for years, never let me down. Sounded great.
  19. Ginger Baker, surely? One thing in this country that really bothers me Is the inability of yanks to make a good cup of tea Instructions are printed on the teabag But either they can't read Or they think it's a gag "Pour boiling water over the tea" How simple and clear can the instructions be? They bring you a cup with a lemon slice And an unopened tea bag beside it -- how nice And a pot of water, and it may be hot But boiling it isn't, so tea you have not Why can't we Get our tea We need tea To set us free It's boiling water that brings out tea's flavour With a dash of milk you've a real brew to savour They drink luke warm brown water that looks like gnat pee And it's got nothing to do with a good cup of tea "Pour boiling water over the tea" How simple and clear can the instructions be? "Pour boiling water over the tea" "Pour boiling water over the tea"
  20. Oh yes, that takes me back. This band were awesome -- I saw them in 1986 at the Majestic in Reading, pre-Neil Murray when Kenji was on the bass. I thought Kenji was the better fit for the band, his image was fabulous. They were quite incredible, even if the vocals were completely unintelligible
