1. Last night was a first. I had one bloke complain about the volume before I'd even taken my jacket off. The reason being, we've got "big speakers" and apparently they "look loud". I wasn't going to argue with him. He was Very Big Indeed and littered with EDL tattoos. Thanks to two gigs in two days, I suffered catastrophic callous failure. Blood on the strings. Ouch.
 2. It's a rubbish programme because they don't have bands that I like. Where's that sarcasm smiley when you need it?
 3. Cool. I like the idea of the semi-permanent tuner attachment. This wee thing is turning out to be a proper Swiss army knife (meant as a compliment ).
 4.
I'm sure many would relish the prospect of a larger lightweight TE Class D head with a full TE feature set - compressor, pre-shape, graphic - and maybe a 500W output.
Yes! Me for one. I love my Shuttle 6, but if TE released a light(er)weight SMX-equipped head, I'd definitely be very very interested.
 5.
I removed my gear from the stage and walked away from one 'charity' gig (followed by the rest of the band) when they allowed the band on before us to continue to the point that we would have had about a ten minute set. I am certain they wouldn't have treated us like that if we were costing them money. They'd kept us (and our dep drummer who was doing us a huge favour) waiting for 3 or 4 hours before that.
Slight thread hijack -- similar thing happened to us at an outdoor gig in Gloucester. The guy on before us, Sherman Robertson, overran his slot of dreary blues to the extent that our set was about 25 minutes in the end. He knew he was eating into our time but didn't give a toss. It still makes me cross when I think about it. Sorry. As you were.
 6. There's nothing actually wrong with the control knobs; it's all down to personal aesthetic preference. The stock tuners function acceptably and are stable enough, but they're not exactly Gotoh quality.
 7.
Rickenbacker 4003. Huge disappointment

For me too. I saved up for a year to buy one and persevered for another year trying to like it but ended up selling it

Ricky -- can't remember the model (4001?) Dreadful.

Rickenbacker 4003's - I just don't gel with them at all.

Same for me as the other responses. Ricky 4003
I sense a wee bit of a pattern emerging
 8. Ah yes, I'd been meaning to tell you -- the RSPB are very keen to speak to you about those pics, specifically the ones involving the chicken and what looks like a courgette but isn't.
 9.
bumming around the house in my pants.
10. Sei Flamboyant 5 string -- it was a stunning instrument but I couldn't get the setup right, so in a fit of pique I sold it. What a stupid, stupid move. I should have given it to a proper luthier and got them to set it up properly, it would have been perfect then. It was beautifully made, felt great to play (apart from my crap set-up job) and the sound was to die for. I often kick myself for letting that one go. Ricky -- can't remember the model (4001?) but I'd borrowed it with a view to buying if I got on with it. It sounded great but I hated absolutely everything else about it. The ergonomics were non-existent, if I'd tried to gig it it would have crippled me and broken my ribs. Dreadful.
 11. Just met up with Chris to buy his very nice Jaydee fretless 'Ray neck. Lovely chap, great comms beforehand and a lovely piece of kit now in my hands. Many thanks, I will definitely post those pics when it's done!
 12. I had similar problems with my old Trantec. I had the proper rackmount plate but nothing for the aerials. In the end I made my own remote aerial kit from half a 1U blanking plate, some BNC sockets and a BNC cable off eBay, plus drilling and soldering and lots of swearing. It turned out ok in the end and worked a treat!
 13.
Accept, and show great enthsiasm and gratitude. Cancel one hour before you're due to arrive and tell them your sponsor has let you down.
Ooh you evil wicked man. Brilliant
 14. The Behringer BSY600 stomp gets some surprisingly good reviews too. Having said that, I was most amused by one of the reviewers on Amazon who gave it one star simply because, by his own admission, he was too lazy to work out how to use it properly!
 15. Ah yes, Exposure, that well-known alternative currency. As accepted by supermarkets, petrol stations and gas/electricity/water suppliers worldwide.
 16. My mate had a Fenix/Young Chang PJ 4 string. It was a fabulous bass, great build quality and sounded superb. He offered it to me for 50 quid. Like a twat, I turned it down. I cannot believe I did that. What a bellend.
 17. £580 plus shipping?? Worth every penny, I'm sure This makes a Wishbass look like a Fodera.
 18.
Westone Thunder I
Now that looks intriguing. What's the spec on that now?
And built one myself. de afwerking mk4-5 fl
Wow, you built that?? Gorgeous. Again, what's the spec?
 19.
Ah Therapy! I used to go see them play in tiny pubs all around north london, must have been around 1990/91. Glad they're still going.
Surely that should be "Ah Therapy?!"
 20.
Erm, there might be a few here..... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/136517-fretless-porn/
Ah. Serves me right for not searching back far enough..! Oh well.
 21. What it sez. Got fretless? Let's see it. I'll start the ball rolling. Here's my Yamaha RBX765A, defretted (beautifully) by Jon Shuker. Other mods include a new and much chunkier bridge, the stock 2 band preamp replaced with a 3 band with sweepable mid (to my mind, the best eq for a fretless), and a repositioned strap button to bring the neck up -- an idea stolen from Alain Caron. It's currently wearing Roto Nexus strings but they're shagged out, so some D'Add nickels are next on the list. Come on then, what have you got?
 22. Heat seems to be a massive issue with some amps and the manufacturers in question seem to have trouble getting a handle on it. IIRC, SWR had some overheating troubles too -- the earlier SM400s used to pack up, and my SM900 nearly reached egg-frying temperatures. For a rackmount amp, it was surprisingly unhappy with being rackmounted!
 23.
It's mission creep. I joined a blues band. Within 2 months the drummer was insisting we 'do some Beatles songs'. Same thing.
Yup, it's depressingly common. I co-founded what was intended to be a jazzfunk/acid jazz outfit (think Morrissey Mullen, JTQ, Incognito). It very quickly turned into pop/rock/soul covers. I don't mind because they're good mates and the songs are ok and we get more gigs than an acid jazz band would have done.
