1.
All of us (Scott Whitley, David from Retrovibe and I) will all being going to NAMM together. Which will be a laugh
Oh dear. Is there enough Alka-Seltzer in the world..?
 2. I'm not wild about the flat black finish, it's a bit too utilitarian/'stealthy' for my liking. I like exotic wood finishes (yeah yeah, cue the 'coffee table' comments). But that's just an aesthetic preference -- looks like a superb instrument.
 3. If I was after a shorty 4, I'd go straight to the Ibanez Talman. I often wonder about a headless conversion on one of these, for a super-compact travel bass.
 4.
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.
You're just saying that to get a reaction.
 5.
the singer ... got hit in the head by a digger bucket and can't remember stuff now.
That is such a Country thing to happen to a bloke. The only way it could be more C&W is if it'd happened because he'd tripped over his faithful ole dawg whilst loading his hunt'n rifle.
 6.
One hate's to generalise but I've never remotely liked the Stones...
You and me both. Cannot stand them.
 7.
Bass -> Line 6 G55 wireless -> Line 6 Bass Pod XT Live -> Behringer MDX2600 compressor -> Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 -> EBS Neo-212 cab
I realise that may have missed the point re: core tone as opposed to just signal chain, so to clarify: My core tone is the sound of the bass -- everything bypassed on the Pod, amp tone controls at 0 (note that I didn't say 'flat' ) but used to make adjustments needed for the room, compressor to smooth it out and kill peaks. I then use patches on the Pod and pickup selection for the various genres of the songs, e.g. a B15 model for Motown, SVT model for rock, etc. It works well for me and means that with careful patch programming I can switch between genres pretty much on the fly without touching any tonal controls on either the bass or the amp.
 8.
The 'relaunch of the relaunch' of Trace Elliot by Peavey has left me completely underwhelmed: a single head, two expensive minature cabs and two oversized pre amp pedals.
Sadly, I have to agree entirely.
 9. Oh yes, this is fabulous stuff. Beautifully melodic. If I could play like that, I'd scrap my self-imposed 'no soloing' rule.
 10. I seem to recall reading somewhere that piccolo bass tunings work best for synth bass applications? Which would tend to suggest that this thing could be the perfect synth driver.

 13. Love it. It's a similar furrow to the one Gerald Veasley ploughs (don't bother looking him up if you didn't enjoy this).
 14.
lol
Oi. We'll have less of this jollity nonsense, thank you very much.
 15.
Yep, that's his signature Ting.
16. I think I'll go out on a limb (Though I fear it will make me look dim) And say spending all hours On this forum of ours Is really a big waste of TIM.
 17.
The good thing is that I should have my 2nd BF One10 in a few days so I'll be able to hear how the TE head as well as my 'new' Magellan sound thru the 'vintage-coloured' compact stack. Can't wait!
Ooh, a Magellan! I like the look of them. Mr Genzler really knows how to put an amp together.
 18. I will be amazed if more than 1 of those cabs actually has speakers in it
 19. My mate had a Fenix PJ bass, it was a cracking instrument and when he sold it for a song I kicked myself afterwards for not taking it off his hands. As has been said, a lot of the stuff with your bass is cosmetic; if you can get some decent tuners fitted (PM me, I might have something suitable) and more importantly get a good setup, decent action & intonation etc, there's no reason at all why it should 'hinder your playing'.
 20. I have a V7 5-stringer. I also have a lovely old Wal and a beautiful custom Shuker. The Sire is my main gigging bass. I think you can take this as confirmation that it sounds a bit better than 'just okay'
 21.
If you have a written contract, then that's even better, but just because the terms are not written down doesn't mean they aren't legally binding.
How do you go about proving the existence of a verbal contract?
 22.
What's Japanese for "you're taking the piss, mate"?
あなたは私を友人にしていました "Anata wa watashi o yūjin ni shi te imashita".
