1.
......"Just sloppy has-beens resting on their fame laurels"...... From further back up this thread... Looks like a bit of a cheap shot to me.
But purely because they're old? Not from where I'm sitting, although YMMV of course. Not my interpretation though. One doesn't have to be old to be a 'has-been'.
This post also addresses the ageist crap some of us have to go through on a daily basis.
I know all about ageism thanks, I get enough of it myself to know it when I see it. And my point is that I haven't seen any overt examples of pure ageism here. As ever, please note that this is all purely my personal viewpoint and not any sort of 'official' forum stance. Just thought I'd put that in before anybody points a finger or anything.
 2.
To take cheap shots at these same musicians now, purely because they are getting on a bit is just not on.
I've read back through this thread and cannot find a single post that takes cheap shots at or slags off the band 'purely because they are getting on a bit'. There are a couple mentioning a lack of energy and opining that maybe it's down to age -- and then again, maybe it's not? -- but no-one is having a go at them simply on the basis of their accumulated yearage.
 3. I was both amazed and disappointed when the Who failed to call it a day after Ox died. To paraphrase Lady Bracknell -- to lose one half of the world's best rhythm section may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like curtains. And has been said elsewhere, whilst Pino is frankly a bass god and a better player than I could ever hope to be, he is a million miles from being right for that band. In fact I can't think of many players who would fit.
 4. I apologise for yet another Glasto thread. No actually, I don't. If you could hop in a time machine, which year would you go back and see? For me, it'd be 1994, 1984, 1982. 5. I can see some side projects, yes. But quite honestly, I think this should be the final sunset for Yes as a band/entity. Out of respect if nothing else. I believe Squire actually had first dibs on the Yes name, didn't he? Hence the Anderson/Bruford/Wakeman/Howe project being 'ABWH' rather than 'Yes', despite being almost entirely comprised of original Yes members?

 7.
Highlight of Glastonbury for me, closely followed by Paloma Faith. Both demonstrated a master class in how to work an audience.
I agree entirely. Although I am old and white and therefore obviously know nuffink.
 8.
Of course you won't like it if it's hip hop. I have never had a conversation with a middle aged white bloke about Kanye... or even classic hip hop (DMC/PE etc.)
I was going to make a comment along the lines of "a lot of us were listening to hip-hop when you were still a twinkle in your dad's eye" or suchlike... but to be honest, Skank has 'smashed it' so comprehensively with his comment that I don't think I'll bother
 9. Brick House... oh my GOD how funky is that band?? Fantastic stuff. Anyone else noticed that the bassist has taped over the logos on his bass and his Ampeg rig?
 10. Just listened to Awaken from the House Of Yes DVD soundtrack. And as usual, the confetti bit has brought a tear. Added poignancy this time. RIP big guy.
 11.
This is music 2015 style.
It's one aspect of music 2015 style, yes. Thankfully not the only one.
 12. Well strictly speaking, isolated bass and vocals. Feast your ears.
 13. If I've taken away anything from that review, it's the assumption that this 'Agreeable' chap must've been starved of affection as a child or something.
 14.
fnarr
Sorry, but I'm afraid the contract contained a double-entendre exclusivity clause too. So your comment should now read:
fnarr © D.Moore 2015
15. Point of order, Mr Delvar. I was in Ms Moore's kitchen unblocking her waste disposal unit at the time of the event you describe, and from what I heard the nocturne in question was clearly a Debussy. Incidentally, a confidentiality contract Ms Moore required me to sign before the commencement of works prevents me from revealing what it was that I found the blockage to be -- suffice it to say that it no longer worked, even with a new battery.
 16. I would happily give him 100,000[sup]**[/sup] for it. ** Indonesian rupiah, that is. Current exchange rate = 21,030 to the £.
 17.
"Cue said they had already been been hearing "a lot of concern from indie artists about not getting paid during the three-month trial period" before Swift spoke out. But he said "we never looked at it as not paying them"."
Of course not. It isn't "not paying them", it's "giving them exposure", which as we know is just as valuable as being paid.
 18.
This is a great site: http://dwtheme.com/derbyshire/1963/
Talk about a dream job. The Radiophonic Workshop must have been an amazing place to work back in those innovative days.
 19.
I didn't want to do this, but you asked for it. Now it's about time to understand your own language. 21.
I'm only 8 miles from Reading!
Just out of interest, whereabouts? I lived in Shinfield for 20 years
 22. Hi Damon Thanks, but I already have a Korg DT7 in my gigbag and there's a tuner in my Pod XT. Ta for the interest though!
