1. SX do a number of short scale basses too, e.g. this.
 2.
Maybe you should put your original post into an email to the rest of your band as you have outlined your anger and frustration quite clearly. If after reading that, they still don't get the message, then leave them to it.
Good call. If you still think the band can be saved, then next time you get an email saying 'is everything ok', 'we would be heartbroken if you left', 'great playing at the last gig' etc etc., reply with "Actually no, I'm bloody not ok and this is why..." and then tell them exactly what you've just told us. Alternatively if you think it's a dead loss, leave now and join/start something else. IMHO, if that band was a horse...*BANG*
Best of luck for whatever you do.
Yup, that too.
 3. You can't possibly fault the finish on the body though.
 4. S'ok, we still agree on lots of things. The coolness of jazz and the dubiousness of Dood's hair'style', to name but two.
 5.
You are, of course, completely correct. Which is why I ask that all of this is taken in the spirit in which it is intended - as part of a journey and not as a destination.
If it's part of a journey, to be honest it's starting to feel like the bit where I get pulled over by the police and told to explain exactly why I'm driving a Caterham rather than an Escort. I can't be arsed with this any more. I refuse to justify what I did with my own money. Yes you'll probably say that you're not asking me to justify anything, well soz mate but that's how it feels. You probably think I've wasted time and cash, well that's fine. You carry on thinking that. Just stop expecting me to accept it.
 6. Tribes, Vibes & Scribes Positivity 100° And Rising
 7. Never mind the bass... what you really need is poodle-perm hair..!
 8. Don't tell Bilbo
 9.
There's nothing wrong with any of this. I am just trying to save people a lot of hassle chasing things thay probably already have.
The build process of my bass -- from initially visiting Jon to select woods and decide on finish & hardware, right through to collecting it and having the dream realised -- was one of the least 'hassling' things I have ever done! If the rest of my life was as much 'hassle' as that, I'd be the most relaxed man alive.
 10.
The aspect of all of this that I am 'challenging' is the practice of individuals specifying the minutiae of a new build to their own exacting standards vs just getting a great instrument and spending some quality time with it in order to make it sing.
I could just as easily challenge your decision to buy a Wal or grow a beard. It's individual taste, isn't it? What's wrong with that?
 11.
And a small point to note. If an issue has been debated before, it doesn't mean it shouldn't be revisited. I have never discussed this issue before, as far as I can recall, so I reserve the right to raise it here and to engage in an identical debate to the ones which have already been rehearsed. If you have exhausted the debate in your own mind, then go start another thread on something you are currently mulling over and leave those that want to discuss this particular issue to do so in peace.
OK. Well in that case, look out for my forthcoming brand new threads on playing whilst singing, whether jazz is any good or not, vegetarians, which is best out of a Jazz or a Precision, Jade Goody, strap length, slapping, football, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc...
 12.
what's wrong with cables? i've never tripped over one.
There's nothing wrong with cables at all. I use them sometimes but I prefer using the wireless.
 13. Ditto. I have never had a serious wireless problem.
 14.
I really have no issue with him wanting to move on, i just find it strange that he drove the meeting about increasing gigs etc,
That's the bit I'm having trouble in understanding too.
 15.
I agree - nothing custom about them. {Wals}
If you order one and specify a particular facing wood or finish, then it is.
 16. Oh feck me, not this creaky old chestnut AGAIN. Blimey, is it October already?
getting one of those 'expensive custom jobs' is in many cases vastly less expensive than getting an Alembic or a Wal!
Absolutely.
 17.
Didn't I just say that?
18. Don't forget folks, there is a good/bad couriers sticky at the top of this section.
 19. For some blinding RH-T Incognito work, have a listen to 'Roots (Back To A Way Of Life)' from the '100° And Rising' album. Funkier than a very funky thing. Sorry, thang.
 20. Another +1 for Interparcel. I sent a power amp 900 miles across Europe, it was there in a week despite being their cheap standard rate, and even with the extra insurance it was still just over 30 quid. No damage, but then again it was in bomb-resistant packaging. I shall use them again for definite. By comparison, I've just sent a pair of foglights up to Bolton by Royal Snail 1st class recorded delivery... it took 11 days. I don't care if there's a postal strike or whatever, 11 days for a supposedly 1-2 day service is not on. It would have been quicker by pogo-stick.
 21. He obviously means in cat years.
 22. +1 for side-only. Much cooler. And he does orange LEDs too
 23.
That and Snatch are my fave films of all time, I've watched them more times than I'd like to admit.
D'you like dags?
 24. Totally brilliant amps. I had one of its earlier non-DPC brothers years ago, and gigged the sh*t out of it for donkey's ages without a single problem. Free bump for a bargain
