Well I meant none of the above that I had mentioned I agree with Bohemian Rhapsodie being pretty dang un-coverable!
Not so... many years back I saw a band in an hotel in Jakarta play an absolutely blinding version of this... they had all the vocal harmony parts spot-on, everything. It was brilliant, I mean goose-bumpingly good.

Profane

Shame, he's a nice guy.
3.
Joe Cockers "With a Little Help............."
Absolutely, definitely +1000000. JC's is the definitive version of that song. JMHO of course.
4. Watching this with keen interest.
Okay, talked me into it. The larger transformer is the mains one the smaller is the output transformer. There is a 12ax7 pre-amp/driver valve and a Mullard EL90 output valve which is part of the EL34, EL84 family and sounds great IMHO. The VT1-Purist-Pro is acting as the main pre-amp and will push the output stage into overdrive with ease. The finished amp will have a 400W SS power amp, DI and Line out, VT1 pre-amp, tone controls, valve blended Fx loop, valve compressor and tuner mute. Dave
Perfect. All it needs is a rackmount kit.
5.
I used to use Rotosound flats, but I had three sets of crap ones turn up in one order once and haven't risked them since.
That's what killed Rotos for me -- 2 crap sets in a row. And then a few years later, the same thing happened with Elites.
6.
there's a nice fretless mini-solo in the long version of Gary Moore's "empty rooms". there are clips on youtube with Bob Daisley playing it live, I think it was Mo Foster who played it on record.
It certainly was, and he's another geezer well worth checking out fretlessly. His solo album 'Bel Assis' is superb. (As is his book '17 Watts?', it's a scream.)
7. And now the same recording but this time JUST THE BASS..!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfDE-ZvfOwU...ted&search= (Note: nothing happens until 00:53 or so... then all hell breaks loose..!) I like some of the comments from the muppets who are convinced that's a Warwick bass...
8. Ohhhhhhh that bass tone... *goosebumps*
9. Bugger. I've used parcel2go a few times and they've been very good, but it looks like they've just lost my custom. If their cover for even a cased guitar is going to be less than the price of a Stagg, bollocks to 'em.
10. I play a lot of gigs and have done for years, but I'm no more a 'real' musician than you are. Surely a 'fake musician, i.e. not a 'real' one, is someone who only plays air guitar..?
11. More emoticons??
12.
When you roll over for a cuddle and accidentally play 'Satisfaction' instead.
*coffee->screen* Straight to the Quotes thread for that one, I think
13.
I got a Bass Central T-shirt thrown at me when I was in there last year, eighteen months on and it's still as good as ever.
What, you've had it on for eighteen months..? Isn't it a tiny bit funky by now?
14. Ah, but the thread title is 'Weird and Wonderful Basses'. If 'twas 'Weird and Totally Sh*t Basses made by a Sad Old Hippy' then they'd be in there at #1 with a musket-ball, yarr.
15. BB2k... did you get your hands on the baby EA in the end? If so, how are you getting on with it? Also... are you still loved up with the G-B Neopak? How about knocking up a review or two for the Reviews forum? I'd be very interested to know what living with the Neopak is like.
16. Any more news? Following this with interest... would like to try the Genz stuff myself.
17. Vocal preamps & channel strips make for great bass preamps. I've recorded through a TLA 5051 in the past and the sound was lovely. I thought about getting one, but it didn't really fit in with my desire to downsize.
18. 1st one -- all the info is lifted completely verbatim from the Wal database... smells worse than a dead fish in the sun, if you ask me. Who the hell would describe their own bass as "it's the PB1839" for god's sake? 2nd one looks kosher.
19. This is looking great. It's nice to see this being restored so well -- I always liked the SB1000s and harboured a secret desire for one myself.
20. Or if you don't have the tools/facility/wherewithall, give the blurb to someone who has and get them to build it. Worth a try... everyone on here who's built an Omni 10 or whatever has raved about it.
21. Well, that would have made an incredible rig for 250 quid..!
22. You can't beat that for 200 quid, eh? What a looker.
23. Anyone else spot the advert in this month's BP mag? Chuck's love affair with Phil Jones' daleks seems to have been somewhat fleeting... he's proudly endorsing Genz Benz gear now. I wonder if this topic will prompt a scathing "you're just a nobody" attack from PJB..?
24.
Yamaha RBX basses are well worth a look
RBXs are standard spacing at the bridge, same as the TRBs. Well mine is, anyway. The Yamaha BB5000 has a narrower spacing.
