1.
Oh its NOT Parcelforce! they get very upset of I get that bit wrong. It's the Post Office - totally different outfit.
Yet remarkably, the packing guidelines they keep referring to are actually the Parcelfarce ones, right? Or have they changed tack to a slightly different slopy-shouldered teeth-sucking ooh-not-my-problem-mate approach? What a shower of complete fornicating masturbators.
2. Afternoon old chap, Come in & pull up a chair, the kettle's on.
3. Rickies... ick. Add me to the why-the-fuss list. Also, P-bass necks... faaaar too chunky for my silly ickle fingers. In fact, P-basses in general. I just don't get 'em.
Couldn't agree more. If you're going to buy boutique you need to use it
Damn right. I use my Shuke at every gig and rehearsal, and loving every second... nothing else is getting a look-in at the moment. I can't understand people who pay a fortune for some OTT bells-&-whistles hippy sandwich showboat and then come over all Tap with it... "Don't touch it! Don't even look at it!". Bleh. The things are made to be played, for god's sake.
5. Superglue, wonderful stuff... has nursed my fingers through many a busy weekend
6. I like the body shape v.much, but the headstock is a definite afterthought. Looks like he spent all week designing the body, and then scribbled the headstock on as he was going out the door to the pub on the Friday afternoon.
7.
errmmm... who is it?

Anthony Jackson.
...and Mike Stern, officially The Best & Most Fabulous Guitarist In The World IMHO. Where was this? And how in the hell did I miss it?
8. Perhaps they've that some of them are displaying a common fault...?
9. So if you're wiping the hard drive, presumably it won't come complete with your collection of scanned Edwardian llama porn? Shame.

11. Yes, my Yam RBX765 is a work-in-progress too..!
12.
We need to talk more about DIs.
Good point. There's this one http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=334 but perhaps a comparison of various boxes too? A what-do-you-use-and-why sort of thing?

Waiting

I know what you're talking about, and I'm afraid there is no cure. Nothing. Sorry. The night before you go pick it up is the worst. You won't sleep a wink. I didn't.
14. You can get a huge range of marquetry veneers on the Bay, usually very cheap too. So you could get a matching or a contrasting wood. Most veneers prove to be a nice reasonably snug fit too (but not so snug that you have to hammer 'em in). You'll need to file down the nut slots a bit too. Are you going to put a sealing finish on the board to harden it up a bit? I've heard that repeated applications of danish oil are pretty good (think it was bt68 who passed that one on..?).
15. Nope, don't like them at all. Especially the fretless. Ugh. Nasty. [/Liar]

BOSS ME-50B

I tried one once and hated it TBH. Mind you, I only had about half an hour in its company. At the time, it struck me as being ten fuzzes, a crap synth and a couple of useful toys in a box. I dare say if I had time to get used to one, I'd find it a lot better than that though.
17. I've got one of the original silver HRs and it is indeed a lot of fun... it only ever gets used for mucking about at home, which is a shame and an insult to its capabilities really. I've thought more than once about getting shot of it but I'm sure I'd kick myself.
18. Very tempted to ask him which part of London 'Merseyside' is in
19. Bass (x2 if it's a long-distance or expensive corporate affair) Rig Peripherals (wireless, FX, etc) Leads, includes plenty of spares Stands Toolbox (contains strings, tools, gas solder iron, superglue, electronic bits, fuses, multimeter, lead tester, nail clippers, you name it, it's in there!) Bottle of drinking water (if I fill it at home, at least I know where it's been..!) Towel Change of clothes EARPLUGS
20.
It really annoys the hell out of me... A great example was the Who at Glasto. Pino wasn't even in close up during one of the bass breaks in 'My Generation'
Wouldn't have surprised me if the camera had cut to a shot of the guitarist during that solo...
21. Heard on the radio earlier, "What Made Milwaukee Famous (Has Made A Loser Out Of Me)" by Rod Stewart... I don't know who was responsible for the vile bass on this appalling crap, but they want kneecapping.
22. I've got them on my Wal and Jazz. They are brilliant... the single most useful mod you can make to a 4-string bass. Mildman, it certainly sounds like yours may be FUBAR.
23.
JB, I use GHS Fast Fret (£4.99) on my flatties after I have played and they are sliky smoooov when I come to back to play....... Like baby oil on a freshly shaved bea.............. (porn alert!)
...r
24. I've sent three basses so far via parcel2go... all arrived safe and sound, on time and totally unscathed. Their insurance goes up to £1000.
25. After playing PTP's gorgeous Lakky Skyline DJ5 I'd really rather like, errm, a Lakky Skyline DJ5 ;-) Pref. with the active bits like Pete's. It's got that Marcus tone absolutely nailed. Yum.
