  2. Yeah, well, predictably it wasn't . I got bored with the wood, so paint happened: Lots of masking tape, scalpel blades and swearing.
  3. Needles and Pins - Jackie DeShannon / The Searchers / Smokie
  4. Clutching at straws a bit, but... does anyone know if any of the Line 6 pedalboard receivers (or anyone else's receivers for that matter) will work with my current Line 6 TBP12 (G55) transmitter?
  5. Song Of The Being - Sally Oldfield
  6. One of the most underrated songwriters ever. Everything he's done is masterful but his '15 Minutes' album is an absolute tour de force.

    BDI21 Mods

Gig debut for the modded pedal last night. Over the moon with how good it sounds, managed to get a great Geddy-like tone from it now the scoop is gone.
  8. Personally I'd describe them as various things, but "band" isn't one of them. Seriously, when did a shouty bloke with a mic and a quiet bloke with a laptop and a can of wifebeater become a "band"?
  9. Well done for completely missing my point.
  10. Christ, you must be a mind reader. Either that or you're making unfair and unwarranted sweeping assumptions based on what you yourself say is a lack of information. TBH, given the OP description of the 3 experiences (vanity project, unpleasant atmosphere, unprepared braindead duo partner), the type of music is totally and utterly irrelevant. They could be playing the best songs in my favourite genre and I still would run a mile.
  11. And there I was thinking it was Peters & Lee.
  12. "gareth, what did you think of the band?" "Oh don't ask me, I don't have an opinion."
  13. As opposed to the Grumpy Old Bastárd Unit, who I fear would find him incurable.
  14. I missed out on a New Year's Eve gig... it was a 40 minute drive from my house, and half way there the niggling slight problem with my car's cooling system became an alarmingly un-slight one. Luckily our second guitarist also plays bass and has depped for me in the past, and he hadn't left home yet, so he was able to swap his gear over and covered for me. So rather than a fun evening and a healthy payday, I had a crap evening by the side of the road waiting for the AA man (who was surprisingly prompt and tremendously helpful, as was the random bloke who stopped to see if he could help), and a financial outlay. Also nearly missed out on a gig when I arrived at the venue to find that our normally efficient crew had left my Wal behind at the previous gig venue... some frantic phone calls and smoking tyres later, it was in my hands 5 minutes before curtain up.
  15. I agree wholeheartedly. I sold something a while back and the buyer offered F&F, which I accepted. We've both been here for a loooong time and he was satisfied that my ad & PMs were genuinely me. I'd certainly never dream of demanding F&F. I think bank transfer is probably my choice for the future.

  17. "Ladies and gentlemen, Rock Against Racism are proud to introduce our special guest... Eric Clapton!"
  18. "Level 42 regret to announce that Mark King has the flu and will not be appearing tonight. Depping for him, please welcome on bass Keith Bastárd, the UK's leading Sid Vicious tribute act."
  19. "HELLO GLYNDEBOURNE, LEMME HEAR YOU MAKE SOME F***ING NOISE!"
  20. "This next song is an excellent one that we all love, our bass player wrote it..."
  21. Funk Logic DD-301 Digilog Dynamicator 1U rack filler. Here's what I wrote about it in my BC review, back in the late 17th century: TL;DR version: It's a dummy unit, and does absolutely nothing whatsoever except make your rack look good. So much more fun than a blank 1U panel. These things are rarer than rocking-horse poo. Funk Logic no longer make this unit; they have a similar item called the 'Palindrometer' which admittedly does light up, but is nearly 100 bucks... As can be seen in the pics, it's in excellent condition with only a tiny bit of rack-rash around the fixing holes. Cash on collection is more than welcome if you a} are local or b} enjoy a drive. The kettle will be on. Alternatively I can post in nice secure bend-proof packaging in return for a bank transfer. Or Paypal if you're happy to pay the fees. UK only, alas. Posting stuff overseas is faaaar more trouble than it's worth these days. Sorry.
  22. "Good evening! hope you brought your dancing shoes... this is from Lou Reed's 'Metal Machine Music' album..."
  23. I'm guilty of having the same BC password since 2007. I've just changed it, using a car numberplate from my past... but unless anyone knows what my dad was driving in 1977, which sequence of upper and lower case I've used and what special characters I've added/substituted, it should be reasonably safe...
  24. It ('s a Monster) - Extreme
  25. Blame It On The Bossanova - Don "No Soul" Simmons
