  1. Looks like the V8 is the new name for the swamp ash version of the V7. https://sire-usa.com/pages/v8

I've just upvoted it Why did it take me so long to join that forum?
  3. Radio Friendly U knit Shifter - Nirvana
  4. There's Snow Business Like Show Business - Irving Berlin
  5. I haven't bought a bass since 2015. I've put together a bitsa since then but I don't think that really counts, and anyway it's basically a cheap POC. Trouble is, everything on my GAS list is ££££.
  6. NSBD (New Skirting Board Day). 6 lengths delivered, and I've just realised quite how long 4.4 metres is... O.o

Pics or it never happened. That's certainly a thing for NBD, assume it would apply here too.

It's completely passive, ultra-long scale, massive neck dive unfortunately, and sounds really sht.

  7. More proof, if it were needed, that Gallagher is a complete arrse.
  8. The first ones that sprang to mind were Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders.
  9. Dep holiday-park gig with function band last night in Bournemouth. Made a weekend of it and stayed over with my nephew who lives here. I was sent the set list a while ago (1 x 60mins) and wrote out some notes, & lyric cribs for my lead vocal songs. Got to the venue, set up, sound checked, and then found out that the venue were expecting 2 x 45s... booking agent còck-up somewhere along the line. Cue a frantic scramble through their repertoire, trying to find another half hour of tunes I and the other dep knew or could busk... Anyway, it worked out ok in the end. The punters loved it, the management were well pleased, and our busked half hour was decent enough that no-one noticed. I've played with them before but never with this particular guitarist, he was getting a lovely sound from his battered old Strat and tiny valve combo... turns out he was Muddy Manninen from Wishbone Ash.
  10. Hope you all have a great time today. Missing yez.
  11. Way to ruin a happy (for a change) thread. Well done, Debbie downer. 'Talentless'? Tell me you've never actually seen her gig without saying you've never actually seen her gig.

OK, the plot thickens a bit... I've just bought Pinball's old bypass loop pedal to use as a basis for this... I opened the back and it looks a bit like this. My question is... what are those capacitors for? Are they click stoppers or something? It's just out of interest, the whole lot is coming out anyway.
  13. Oh god, my eyes. That is just horrific.
  14. I saw SEB a couple of years back, and The Feeling were her backing band. Pretty sure it was them -- it was definitely Richard on bass anyway. She was great and they were very tight & solid.
  15. Just collected an FX loop pedal from Ed. Turns out he lives about half a mile from me! needless to say the pedal is just as he described it and it was a very pleasant & friendly exchange. Cheers!

    In Memoriam

skb558 Posted by his wife earlier. "It is with great sadness that I write this post, but my beloved Shaun died of a heart attack at the end of July, he was only 64. He loved being a member of Basschat and had forged some god friendships with fellow bass players. He will be sadly missed and I miss hearing him play bass from him room. Thank you for the years of joy you gave him. Louise (his wife)"
