  1. I bought a magazine subscription and some lunch last of the big spenders eh? My favourite instruments were 1} a black Yamaha Nathan East signature 5, 2} a Strandberg on the Bass Direct stand, and 3} all the ACGs.
  2. Bloody typical... 7 miles away and everything's ground to a total stop on the M42. Two fire engines gone past. Haven't moved an inch for 20 mins. FFS.
  3. Yolanda Charles is going to be on the Sandberg stand on Saturday. Also hoping to bump into Becky Baldwin at some point. I'll do my best to talk her into joining BC, having another high profile pro player on board can only be a good thing.
  4. That's a very useful list, especially the who's-on-what-stand bit, thank you! I will be the bald bewildered-looking chap wandering around in a black/grey long sleeve Basschat t-shirt.
  5. Some of my favourite JG moments are on Fish's first solo album 'Vigil In A Wilderness Of Mirrors'. His playing across the entire album is a fretless masterclass, but this bit is especially wonderful. https://youtu.be/hqWdNSDc-uc?si=VoTlt78gA9WNDZ6y&t=145
  6. (Listen to the) Flower People - Spinal Tap
  7. Ooh you evil man. Brilliant
  8. I was looking for a band name quite a while back, and a quick google search revealed two others with that name. One was a UK band that had folded in 2012, the other was an active US band that are very much local to their area and do not appear to ever have left their home state, never mind toured. To be on the safe side and to avoid confusion, we modified it slightly so where their name is 'Name Of Band', ours was 'nameofband'.
  9. Yes, that's great news for us Saturday folks. I've got a bit of a drive but am hoping to get there good & early. And this is great news too. I have been itching to get my hands on one of your instruments for years. Security! Eject this man from the forum!
  10. Current gig rig (the amp is new and yet to be gigged). Line 6 G55 wireless, Trace Elliot TE-1200 amp, Barefaced Super 12T cab.
  11. Song To The Siren - This Mortal Coil
  12. Hands Off, She's Mynah - The Beat
  13. And because it weighs 1,970lbs.
  14. Done My 10p - I have no experience of Wilkinson humbuckers but I did have one of their split Ps and it was excellent. Good tone and a very hot output. If you were to go down the Wilks route, I would recommend sourcing it from a more reputable source. I don't trust AliExpress at all.
  15. Suburbia -Pet Shop Boys
  16. Hey Look, It's Me - Kraken

    Rush.

Possibly an unpopular opinion here, but Power Windows is my favourite Rush album. The trio of Manhattan Project / Marathon / Territories is still my favourite three song run from any album ever.
  18. Hey Fatty Bum Bum - Carl Malcolm
  19. Minnie the Pooch-er - Cab Calloway
  20. IIRC, Hartke is 'Horrid American Rubbish That Keeps Exploding'..? Not entirely accurate, I really liked my old HA3500 and it definitely never exploded. Likewise. I paid £330 for my beloved Pro 2E in 1986, at Hamer's in Reading.
  21. The Sun Goes Down (Livin' It Up) - Level 42
  22. Shirley, you can't be serious
  23. +1 for the Artecs. My Thunder 1A has an SE2 in it at the moment, and I fitted a full fat SE3PA to my old fretless Yamaha, the three band with the sweepable mid, and it was great. For my money a 3 band with sweepy mid is the perfect preamp for fretless.
  24. I fitted one of those under the pickguard in my fretless OLP, when I fitted the active eq. It's a very secure battery holder.
