My parents lived there some years back.

On match days traffic would be stopped from entering the area close to the stadium.  The roads would be heaving with fans on foot.  I'd have to cross the Police line to visit my folks on London Road.

I was a motorcyclist then.  Quite often I would be escorted by a mounted Police officer until they were satisfied that I was genuinely visiting a resident.  Those horses are impressive.

  4. We have a tiny music store in town, from what I can gather it relies on its (extremely good and busy) upstairs music school to survive. And I'm glad it does. All I ever buy from there is picks, as I don't need any budget basses and they don't carry my preferred strings. But it's nice to know it's there.
  5. You folks were in fine form. Very obvious that you were having a great time up there, and it showed in all your performances. It was particularly good to hear such a well-played pedal steel, his less is more approach was perfect. And oh my word, your ACG sounded droolworthy, especially down low. That B string is a thing of beauty. I will definitely be looking out for you lot in the future. Thanks for a great night. Apologies for the terrible photo

  17. Also, a +1 from me for the Wine Cellar pedal. I love it.
  18. This is the latest addition, it's a high/low pass filter which I'm using as a 'thumpinator' because my new amp doesn't have one built in unlike the previous one. It's a clone of a Broughton Low+High that I bought as a rough nearly-finished project and rehoused in a nicer/smaller enclosure. It's an always-on, so to be honest I needn't have bothered with the footswitch, but it was already built so I kept it. Annoyingly the drill slipped when I was drilling the low pass hole so it doesn't quite line up. When it gets so I can't look at it without cringing, I'll rehouse it again with no switch.
  19. I love the sound of flats on a P and I wish I could get that tone on mine, the problem is that I absolutely hate the way flats feel. For me they feel almost slimy, they make me want to wash my hands. Hard to describe, but there's no way I could play them for any length of time. Maybe I'm just weird, but eucchhh. No.

Remove the grill and brush paint it with some blingy Hammerite colours.  The Tolex is going to be less noticeable and maybe give hipsters some trouser tentage as it looks genuinely used.

Colourful hammered finishes make stuff like this pop, they disguise most minor imperfections and they're a very good rust treatment and preventative.

Even if you do nowt to change it, I hope you get some fun out of it.

I certainly will. I've been using a BG250 at a rehearsal studio and have been pleasantly surprised by it. I'm going to replace my current Behringer BX600 rehearsal amp with the TC, its main advantages being more power and less weight. The Behringer weighs an absolute ton for such a small box.

Good idea with the Hammerite. I've got a tin of silver, but I might see what else is out there.

I've spent all my TLRTs but I like your thinking.

It's expensive but there are some great colours in the range now, hammered or smooth.
