  5. Just as well it wasn't a slapback echo, or she'd be selling fish.

      That's brilliant! :)

  9. Barclay James Harvest did a similar acrimonious firework. There are now two BJHs doing the rounds, with one original member each.
  10. They could be "Ono, It's The Whotles!"
  11. Have to say, it looks amazing with the black p/guard.

  13. Oh that's easy.... a CHB-2 in sapphire burst. I have more difficulty deciding what I want for dinner.
  14. Bike chain and dismantling thingy have arrived, so I've had an experimental fiddle about. The chain arrived with a very light coat of oil, which was easily removed with a bit of kitchen towel. No need for a massive degreasing process. I've separated a few links and managed to get a number of 'brackets' which appear to be the absolute perfect size. The pics show one of the resultant link bits attached to one of my homebrew pedals. The hook velcro, which is now redundant, will be removed and I'll probably stick on some of those little silicon 'dot' things one uses as cupboard door bumpers instead. I'm thinking two brackets per pedal should be sufficient, at opposite corners.
  15. That low B is stunning
  16. Everything I've heard played on an A-C sounds utterly awesome. I believe Paul Turner uses one with Jamiroquai? I've yet to try one myself but I just know it'd be exquisite. The only thing I've never liked about A-Cs is the headstock shape, but somehow the matching colour makes it a lot more palatable and it looks right. GLWTS!
  17. Like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon, wrapped round a large gold brick.
  18. Congrats on the new bass! A logical step on from your old Redsub Coliseum I guess? How does the Ding compare in terms of balance & weight etc? All I can say is, thank god for the copyright issues. The new shape is far better to my eyes. I love that little kick at the back, by the controls. It looks sleeker, a proper 21st century Bird (there's a song in there somewhere).
  19. I think the gold will look great. I've never been scared of gold hardware on the right bass (it looks awesome on a red bass, for example). Like you, I think gold screws would work really well for the pickup surrounds. The only thing I'm not totally sold on so far is the headstock shape, but a.) that's just me being picky and b.) it's your bass
  20. Flip, Flop and Fly - Big Joe Turner
  21. Ohhh yes.
  22. I saw them a couple of years ago. Given the choice beforehand it wouldn't have been my first option for a night out, but there you go. As it turned out, they were surprisingly good. Rick Astley supporting was even better, and both their bands were sht hot. The ubiquitous Lee Pomeroy was in the TT bass chair. Sorry if this doesn't meet with your approval.
