  1. My 15" cab wasn't powered. Just huge. God knows how much an active one would have weighed..!
  2. @terryj Here's the text from the original ad. I'm reluctantly selling my 5 string Sandberg nighthawk plus, a wonderful bass. Read the review in issue 402 of bassplayer magazine, quote " the nighthawk plus is one of the finest basses we've ever played with a neck to die for" I bought this new from Thomanns a out 18 months ago and gigged it once due to the pandemic and is in A1 mint condition, with a Sandberg gig bag, it retails at around £1850/ £1900. Unfortunately finances forces sale. £1450.00
  3. I bought one of these for my ska bass and am very pleased with it. If the specs suit your needs then I can recommend it. Obviously the headstock needs shaping but that's an easy enough job. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274973283843
  4. Solitaire - Neil Sedaka and Phil Cody.
  5. I've seen a lot of comments on US sites/pages suggesting that it is just a re-badged Peavey Mini Mega. I can only assume they're looking at a different Peavey Mini Mega to the one I'm seeing, because apart from the EQ having 4 bands I can't see much similarity at all.
  6. Moon Over Bourbon Street - Gordon Sumner
  7. Smells Like cat pee Teen Spirit - Nirvana
  8. This headstock is a work of art. A work of art deco, in fact. Absolutely beautiful.

    Guitar shows 2022

There's a Bristol guitar show in April. The last one I went to was good but a bit bass-light, nothing really toasted my personal crumpet apart from the always-wonderful @Chownybass instruments. I did email them to ask if there would be an alternative free prize draw errm prize of a Cort bass instead, but got no reply.
  10. The Bromberg basses are probably my favourite signature instruments. I would LOVE to get my hands on one of the Peaveys or Deans (the Carvin has a fatter top horn that I'm not overkeen on). Brilliant, original design with fantastic versatility.
  11. It really is a cracking little thing. It wouldn't break my heart to keep it, but it'd be nice if it went to someone who used it regularly/properly. If only that 80s project had come to fruition.
  12. I suspect Tim Commerford was probably responsible for a fair few Stingray sales. I bet they spiked massively after the RATM album came out. Yes, I'm willing to bet that the vast majority** of Mark King signature instruments will never see a gig, or in fact leave the owner's house. ** NB, I did NOT say 'all'. Please don't get indignant and start yelling at me about the hundreds of gigs you've done with your Kingbass/Jaydee/whatevs.
  13. It's a good point. There was some discussion on this point last year, it's always interesting to hear peoples' takes on it.
  14. £150 posted / £145 meet up / £140 collected. Collection would be far preferred, or can meet up within reasonable distance from Bristol. Bought some time ago for a project that didn't happen. Fantastic digital synth from Novation with 8-voice polyphony and a 2-octave velocity-sensitive keyboard... classic subtractive style, with 3 oscillators with sawtooth, some, triangle, pulse width modulation and other wave forms, plus lowpass resonant filter, 2 LFOs, asdr and loads of other stuff and I don't understand any of this quite frankly. What I do know is that it is a-m-a-z-i-n-g for bass. Classic big fat farty squelchy sounds and more. Barely used by the previous owner and even less used by me. Comes with a Thomann gig bag carry case thingy that is actually supposed to be for the Line 6 Pod XT Live, but fits the K-Station like a glove. Also included is a 9v power supply and a printout of the manual. On-line reviews here and here. Youtube demos here and here.
  15. The Enormous Room - Michael Manring
  16. Just spoke to your dad. Unfortunately he's sold it to fund his rich tea biscuit habit.
  17. We may as well stop the thread now. Nobody's going to post anything cooler than this.
  18. After I passed my driving test back in the mid 18th century, my first 'car' was a Mk1 Escort van. Now that's a load lugger
