They did that in a single cab with the BFC, back when heavy cabs were still cool. It didn't exactly fly out of the doors. Neither did the bright box IIRC. I don't think people want massive stacks any more. I agree that a FRFR 15+8+HF would have been really nice. And the dual band compressor. And, hopefully *keeps fingers tightly crossed* some Trace DNA... From what I can see, the only differences between the B Transit and this new boy are a mid control, a tuner and the overdrive. The mid would have been nice, but the other two are not things I'd want in an amp anyway.

76lbs would be fine if it was cheap. $1499 would be fine if it was a lightweight single cab solution. As it is, if you want 4ohms it'll cost 3 large and weigh as much as a rhino. Nah.

I don't have a P-J bass, but I do have a P-MM. Those pickups sound awesome together.

About time too, what an excellent idea. I still won't be going due to geographical (and consequently fiscal) considerations, but it will certainly make the day a lot more bearable for those that do go. Definitely worth taking your own cans though, from a purely health POV.

Worth absolutely every penny. I have Elixir nickels on my Sire V7, they've been on there for over 2 years now and whilst admittedly there haven't been all that many gigs in that time, they are still almost as bright as when I put them on. I've got Elixir steels on the ska bass and they've lost none of their zing either, despite the bashing they get. I love the way they feel, really smooth and fast.

Agreed. They need to be aiming for 50-55lbs tops, minus the cover.

Yes... at one time (yes, back in 1985 ) Trace offered their cabs, or at least some of them, as a choice of 4 or 8 ohm versions. Possibly a trick missed there.

The 1000w handling is clear... is that "8 ohm"? Not intended as a one cab rig then.
