  1. It strikes me that a seed for randomness in generating a random sequence for scatter winding is not important, in fact I can imagine that each scatter pup being randomised in the same way could be an advantage. Sam x
  2. You sir, are a fabrication GOD! Sam x
  3. She is thank you! I'm considering stripping the gloss coat shell off Quinn and oiling her. Sam x
  4. Quinn - GSRM25 Fyra - GSRM20B ʻElima KALA California 5 string fretless ubass Sam x
  5. And I'm out! I snagged a pair of preloved guitar stands here on BC, they were free ... I only had to cover postage so I was going to throw myself on the mercy of the judges. but Then ... somehow ... a MOTU M4 Audio Interface fell into my basket and I bought it (A cracking bit of kit!). Sam x
  6. Hi Dave, welcome to BassChat! I'm also a lover of shortscales and lightweight cabs (Bad back innit!) Sam x
  7. When I was looking at 3D printing a body, this was one I really liked (Tho I'd choose a different colour) https://electricflapjack.com/builds/phase-two/algen/ Sam x
  8. Which particular Scarlett model? 2i2,4i4, somethng else? Sam x
  9. OMG ... I've toyed with that too! Sam x
  10. Hope they can sort it quickly for you! As you mentioned, I'd definitely sort a similar issue myself, but my Dwarf is no longer under warranty. Sam x
  11. Nice review, thank you! I LOVE PJB gear! Interesting that the low B sounds OK as PJB quote the X4 as having a range of 72Hz – 15KHz, I guess it is the harmonics coming through. Sam x
  12. I was the fortunate BCer who snagged the Elf that @FinnDave mentioned, what a wonder it is! It rattles windows thru my PJB C4 and sounds glorious! @asingardenof, my power socket also shifts back and forth about 2mm ... odd, as the photos linked to by @ossyrocks seem to show some sort of sealant on the top of the socket that presumably should prevent this Sam x
  13. I first started playing bass (About 2016) as a member of a ukulele band. Loved it! Playing a ubass evolved into playing bass guitar (Sub short scale) and I was off. Sadly in early 2023 'artistic differences' led to me leaving the band (They booted me out ... still not sure why) I'm trying to start a new band but it is not going well, just two of us at the moment. Once a month I do get the chance to join in a local jam group where 15-30 folks uke to the max and it is fun, but I really miss the buzz of gigging. I am finding it so hard to practice without having an aim, a gig. Sam x
  14. I bought a Ibanez GSRM20 from @dodgnofski early this month in december. Just as he described, it is in perfect condition, I could not see anything different from a brand new bass, in fact it is better than the brand new GSRM25 I bought early 2023! Communications with Tim were excellent and his packaging was par excellence! A Sam rating of 12/10 ... I would happily deal with him again! Thank you so much Tim! Sam x
  15. +1 I have found that the most important aspect of any environment where one is engaging with others is that you can get along with other members of the team. Sam x
  16. I'm in a similar situation. Would the following fall inside the 'rules' Self build bass for which I've got all the bits, but might need to buy some sandpaper, TruOil, etc. Self build multi-fx pedal for which I've got most of the bits, but might need to buy some connectors, wires, etc. Sam x
  17. Welcome to BC Sean (And to 2024!) Sam x
  18. Welcome to BC @krautfox, it's a great community for a great instrument! Sam x
  19. Is that known based on the TE combo that @TRBboy is modding? If it is the same as the thingiverse design, then it is printable on a Prusa (which is the device I've got). Sam x
  20. My original mini rig (All battery powered) Now using a ... more capable amp/cab (Same pedalboard as before ... but OMG the bass sounds SO much better!) Sam x
