  1. OK ... it's time to put up my hand for some help. I 'sorta' managed to get a working chain on my Dwarf ... but now I'm playing with the GT-1000Core (Core) and am a bit lost (Sadly I've been unable to get Tone Central running on my Mac M1 ... trying to install Win10 on an old laptop, not sure it'll work). I'm aiming for a 'ampless style' setup, to do all my tone shaping in the Core and run into my Amp set to super-flat (A holding situation till I can get/build an FRFR unit) or into a PA. The online vids I've found with "deep dives" into Core bass patches all seem to assume a level of knowledge beyond mine! (Which is not that great). From general bass pedal/chain articles I've sorta landed on the following possibility and would really appreciate your experience/thoughts/comments (I know I'll need to tweak and play but would like to see if this candidate approach has any major flaws/missings/gotchas before I try failing to get it set up 🤣). <IN> => <Noise Suppressor 1> => <Compressor> => <Equalizer> => <Divider 1: > => <A:HPF @ 200Hz > & <B:LPF@250Hz> <A> => [<FX1:Octave Bass> or <FX1:Overtone> or <FX1:Chorus Bass> (I want to try to get a 'fatter' sound)] => <FX2:Distortion (For occasional use)> => <Mixer1> <B> => <Mixer1> <Mixer1> => <Reverb(To add some ambience)> => <Foot Volume> => <PreAmp1**> => <Master: Bass Mode On> =><OUT> ** - I gather the Core PreAmp is actually the preamp/poweramp and cab all rolled up into one (??) 2. Not sure it's truely a hook, tho these two always hook me in! and S'manth x
  3. Bluetooth for monitoring your bass audio ... hmmm As has been mentioned, Bluetooth latency is an issue (and IME a b'stard). https://kb.audiomodeling.com/en/c/grow-your-knowledge/d/what-is-audio-latency-how-do-i-fix-latency-issues-while-recording/ https://www.makeuseof.com/bluetooth-5-vs-aptx-low-latency Wired headphones do not suffer this lag. If you really want wireless, perhaps consider a wireless IEM system? (The IEM thread would be a great place to check out decent ones As well as many having very low latency they would have the (possible) advantage of allowing use onstage. S'manth x
  4. If you don't need 'normalish' keys then you might consider the wee KORG nanoKEY2. Can't be beat for portability and despite being small, the keys are velocity sensitive. https://www.korg.com/uk/products/computergear/nanokey2/index.php S'manth x
  5. That's what I thought after reading the OP! S'manth x
  6. I’m a Dwarf fan girl but a pre loved GT-1000 core here on BC at an irresistible price is now in my clutches … trying to wrap my head around it! S’manth x
  7. Stop that foolishness! Oddly enough, now I’m back home I’ve been toying with having another go at Phoenix 🤔🤣 S’manth x
  8. This build thread is amazing Andy, it reminds me of “The New Yankee Workshop” … watching the magic of a master builder creating a work of art, but in a way that almost (ALMOST!!!) tricks me into thinking I could give it a go. 😂 S’manth x
  9. Oh my … love it! That looks amazing. My shortie short fretless 5er is a UBASS at 23.5 and is loads of fun! S’manth x
  10. My post contains links to some very useful setup videos S’manth x
  11. It was these ... and this happened ... even on the replacement E string they sent S'manth x
  12. I tried the pyramid and had two E strings unravel on me! I now play thunderbrowns and love them! S’manth x
  13. Then I shall include that in the gear I bring (It is rather lovely, tho in no way back friendly!) S'manth x

  15. As @Frank Blank says these are amazing tuners! (Mostly because of the accuracy ... but also many folks just do not like stroboscope tuners so I never got requests to borrow and hence lose mine!) And a fantastic price ... I'd snap it up if I didn't already have two! GLWTS! S'manth x
  16. Oooh! With a new job feeding my bank account a bit more and moving back into my own flat in a month or so I see making one of these looming in my future! Tho I do need to figure out how to drive it using a battery powered amp ... S'manth x
  17. A fair point, but the MS-60B does (Based on experiments I've done controlling it from a laptop) and there are several online examples where the MS-70CDR does as well. S'manth x
  18. Sorry, @tauzero I cannot see any thing obvious (but it is a configuration I've not tried) what @rwillett suggests sounds sensible (and I concur with his view of you tech skills) S'manth x
  19. All my ubasses came with an active piezo, I did have a passive piezo on a tenor uke once and it's output level was super low. Is your ubass active? (And if so is the battery nice and fresh)? S'manth x
  20. Yes. That is how I've got it setup at present. The USB cable carries power from the Dwarf and also MIDI. S'manth x
