  1. I set out to learn the riff to Green Day - Longview and discovered that the small collection of picks I had were like ... Now to buy some more (Or more likely 3D print some) Sam x
  2. Surely a big problem is getting a sub in through the door ... Sam x
  3. Looks like ... https://www.michaelkellyguitars.com/en/products/view/vintage-element-4 Sam x
  4. I'd suggest either The Player of Games or Consider Phlebas as a good entry book ... be prepared to while away many (many) enjoyable hours to cover the series. Sam x
  5. I might have suspected (Having also done so) 🤣 Sam x
  6. "Just Testing" Sam x Love the Culture series ... I cheated a bit directed research utilising previous knowledge work through guided, specialist and dedicated tools to optimise the search path, there by reducing false positives, ensuring audited and critical analysis, to deliver the goal oriented conclusion that met the stated target objectives via https://theculture.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_spacecraft
  7. And aircraft compatable, I believe they allow a max of 27,000 on. flights. Sam x
  8. Cool! I was unaware of that product, nicer approach than their Ripcord IMO. Sam x
  9. Lovely ultra small rig @funkle! What are you using between USB Brick & Stomp? My setup is larger (What with MIDI and Expression); my large power brick can directly output 9v to power the Stomp, but I might investigate the MyVolts Ripcord to allow for a smaller USB brick. Sam x
  10. Revision2 ... closer to a flyrig. Much to my amazement (and delight) my M-VAVE MIDI pedal connects over bluetooth to the HX Stomp. Replacing the Morningstar MC6 and removing the MXR Octave (I'm finding the HX pitch shift blocks work well enough for me) means the layout fits on a smaller board (OK, it overhangs ... must find an alternative at some point) and is lighter then Revision 1 (A few posts earlier). The left three M-VAVE switches are tap->select snapshot; the left two are long press -> select next/previous preset; the rightmost M-VAVE switch is tap->tap tempo, long press -> tuner. The VEXPRESS into the M-VAVE sends MIDI to control effects levels. The M-VAVE has its own internal rechargable battery. The 3 HX Stomp switches select effect on/off. I might make something like the Pedalnetics Helauxy Duo Mini to add switches 4&5. Sam x
  11. This post indicates that the Jensen JT-DB-EPC are a drop in replacement https://gearspace.com/board/geekzone/993802-upgrading-radial-prod2.html and the DiPro uses the same Eclipse ET-DB2 transformer. If you've access to a multimeter, it may be worth checking continuity of the appropriate pins (as per the Jensen schematic)) to see if there are any internal disconnects. https://www.jensen-transformers.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/jt-db-epc.pdf Sam x
  12. Generally a 'print server' is a device that sits between a computer that generates a print job and a printer. It allows the source computer to fire off something to print and then the print server is what interacts with the printer to get the job done; it can also provide status on the print job(s) (you can queue multiple jobs). You will often find print servers for network shared printers. Octoprint performs this job for 3D printers, it has a rich set of features for monitoring print status ... and also some very cool plugins to facilitate bed levelling, web camera display, time lapse photography, etc; all accessed via a web interface. 13. All sounds above board ... in this case an R4 board and a Pi5 board lol Sam x
  14. Latest pedalboard. HX Stomp I sold one a couple of years ago as I didn't 'get on' with it, but since then ... having tried various other multi-fx I've come back to one; with its ability to run a frequency split parallel path, the power of on device editing and the new fx in the latest v3.7 firmware it ticks my boxes. Also two years of fiddling has helped me learn a bit more about what I actually like/need/use (Much more learning to be done still!). Now to spend the hours tuning in the 'perfect' sounds ... Ian Martin Allison where are you lol! MXR bass octave deluxe in the Stomp FX loop; during my brief foray into single pedals I fell in love with this unit. If I can get a Stomp effect to sound in the same ballpark I will take it off, allowing me to use a smaller board. Morningstar MC6 MkII Mindblowingly flexible MIDI controller. The board configuration is setup to have the Stomp switches in Stomp mode and add FS4/5 on the Morningstar, this gives me the ability to on/off 5 fx. The top three Morningstar switches allow for selection of snapshots and the bottom right is setup for tuner/tap tempo. A long press on either of the bottom left two allows for shifting up/down a Stomp preset. (Based on a slightly tweaked version of the setup here https://eitanmuir.com/2022/01/03/hx-stomp-mc6-elegance/) Vexpress into Stomp for controlling effect levels. All mounted on a Metro 16 and powered from a Krisdonia Laptop Power brick (It should give me 6+ hours of mains free playing time). Sam x
  15. That improvement in speed and quality sounds awesome! Well jel 💚. And auto-magic first layer levelling ... OMG! Crippling Octoprint interaction ... insane! I wonder how long before someone releases a firmware with those bits added back in (Assuming it is possible at a hardware level) How very un-Prusa like to have almost a year with such a fundamental issue like the sensor! Sam x
  16. For sale is a rather amazing Ampeg Opto Comp. I purchased this to experiment using physical pedals; I've now gone back to the multi-fx camp and my recently acquired HX Stomp has a good simulation of this, so the Ampeg is now in search of a new home. As you can see from the photos, the pedal is in brilliant condition, just one very small chip (Marked in the bottom photo by the green circle); a small touch of white paint pen makes it invisible from more than a couple of feet. Hook style Velcro on underside. Comes in original box with original user manual (You can also read this online at https://ampeg.com/pdf/Opto Comp Analog Optical Compressor_OM.pdf) Sam x
  17. I'm following your amazing adventures with great interest! Sam x
  18. I'm embarking on a new build and came across this rather good summary video on various options of mounting pedals. The same fellow has a series of longer videos covering each method. Sam x
  19. And thanks to our discussion I realised I also needed one for my HX Stomp adapter ... it arrived today Sam x
  20. Having made my own headless tuners in the past (They were functional but not pretty!) I am impressed by this design, it looks very elegant ... and not having a cutaway to allow access to the tuners is very appealing. The tuning knobs remind me a little of the ALP system, but appear more robust. How much of an angle/bend is introduced where the ball end of the string descends into the mechanism? It appears to be almost a right angle, how does this work with heavy guage strings (Like a .130 low B)? Sam x
