  2. Hi, I'm selling my Steinberger Spirit XT-2 Left Handed bass, bought new in 2020, together with 3 new sets of double-ball end strings (2 x Steinberger SST-109, 1 x LaBella S100S - aside from the set of Elites that are already mounted on the bass - that roughly equates to £90-100), an Ernie Ball black strap and and its original gigbag. The bass is in really good conditions and works perfectly. It has a really good sound for its price range, with an incredible sustain and good definition. All strings sound quite balanced, with a good low-end. Worth noticing that I made a few changes to it: As soon as I bought it, I had a professional guitar/bass technician install a linear tone pot, as the one that came with the bass had a really weird response I sanded the neck a little bit, as it was really glossy and a bit sticky (see pictures) I installed an extension on its back (using 2 short brackets) to extend the strap button, so that when standing the bass sits similar to how a standard Fender/MusicMan/etc. bass sits. This required to drill a small hole on the bass back (see pictures) and left a few marks on its back next to where the original strap button is (see pictures). This would be really easy to remove with just a screwdriver. When first bought, the tuning machines where really stiff, so I opened them, got rid of the springs (that I still have and will provide with the bass - see pictures) and applied a lubricant to make them work well. They are now really smooth and hold the tuning really well Tuning machines have a few scratches (see pictures) Happy to meet with anybody in the area to try the bass out. Can ship if necessary (mainland UK). Shipment costs to be added.

  5. ah ok. it makes sense, as I think the one I saw somewhere on the internet was a black one, and it must have been a 34 then. Thanks!
  6. Hi all, I was looking at the Sterling bass series and noticed that I could only find the SUB Ray4 and Ray5 left-handed. No Ray24 or Ray34 (and their 5-string counterparts) offered left-handed. The Sterling website doesn't mention them either. I might have found a couple of old ads/pics online that I think showed non-SUB Sterling lefties, but nothing beyond that. Does anybody know if they are offering these LH at all? Cheers, Mario

  10. Hi, The other day I found this video on YouTube and watched it in tranches as it's 2h long and afterwards I thought I should share it here since it's definitely worth a watch. It's a Bass Clinic by Bubby Lewis where he talks about pretty much anything bass related, and more. Personally, I found him a good laugh and the video is full of interesting things, from conversations about bass strings, to money ernead as a touring musician, passing through funny anecdotes about working with Snoop Dog.

  14. at the risk of re-opening this can of worm, I just saw this (still haven't watched it all though) and found it interesting tbh.
  15. PM'd about the Ampeg Opto Comp
  16. +1 for the Laney Digbeth Pre. I haven't tried dozens of preamps in my life but, I can definitely recommend this. The tube (simulation) is really really good, warm and well balanced sonically and has its own volume. The FET channel is clear and dynamically rich. The MUTE switch can be used as BYPASS as well. The TILT knob (seesaw lo-pass/hi-pass EQ) is musical and, probably one the most important thing for me, it has a 4-band EQ and the lo-mid have a 3-way switch that set the freq and Q-point (kind of semi-parametric). Also, it has a SEND and a RETURN. There's a thread here on BC where the pedal is discussed in great detail that contains measurements/graphs and demo-files from BC users.
