1. Make sure they give you the shim, mine came without, they said it was optional. I told them the option is for me to either fit it or not, not for them to supply or not. It arrived the next post. Edit, Turns out I did not need it but I had paid for it so wanted it.
2. Free. The few times they came to play in Liverpool I was out playing myself.
3. When using my EB3 I pass the strap under my belt to stop neck dive. This will also help those players with no arse whose trousers won't stay up and the crutch is down by their knees.
4. I have just fitted one to my Epiphone Elite EB3. Came today from the Bass Centre, £99.00. Easy to fit and set up. Reason for doing it was that on the original the "d" saddle was too low meaning I had to higher the others to stop the d string buzzing. I tried making a new saddle from brass but never got it to fit snug enough in the bridge so causing a buzz. Also I was having to thread 4mm nuts on the strings to keep the ball end windings off the saddles. This bridge has solved all those problems.
5. The whistle I have in my left ear started after I had had micro suction about two years ago to remove ear wax. I also felt as if my ears had become more sensitive, everything was now too loud whether playing or watching bands. The foam or silicone plugs I had been using were no longer effective. I went to Specsavers for custom moulded plugs, Elacin Er25s, and wished I had done it years ago. I never really liked putting plugs in my ears, they sometimes made me feel nauseous, but I don't know the Elacins are in. I am never without them now, I can still hear conversation with them in but when the band kicks off it is like standing outside. Money well spent.
6. And for those that missed it... http://www.bbc.co.uk...rammes/p032v07p
7. Just looked at this local bands gig list and they are playing at the same bar every Wednesday, even in 2016 and more. http://amazingkappab...gigs/4589791928
8. Using index finger on the enter key... using index and middle finger... Hmm, may be better if I play with one finger.
9. Some models of the Thunderbird IV had the pickups wired in series instead of Parallel.
10. I have a pair of Uniross Hybrio PP3s that need charging for 19hrs 30mins at 14mA. I can't find a charger that will do that. My wall wart 9v Ni-Mh charger with auto cut off will not fully charge them unless I put them through twice. I have only just tried this (double charging) and so far so good up to now. They have lasted longer than a single charge. Would prefer to have a dedicated charger though as I am not sure if doing this will have any adverse effects.
11. I have had Elacin ER25s for a few weeks now, I wish I had have got them years ago. I wear them as a player and as a punter. Everything was always too loud for me before, even when wearing Alpine 15s, I used to stand at the back or behind walls/columns when watching bands. Now I hear everything, just at a lot lower level. A bit like standing outside. Funny that it never bothered the mates I was with.
12. You may be passing up on the opportunity of being one of the greatest bass players of all time, you could be up there with Homer Simpson.
13. I was getting it when I first started playing mine, and now that you have mentioned it I don't remember hearing it for a while now. Maybe I have changed my right hand technique without realising.
14. I keep getting phone calls telling me I have £thousands owed to me from ppi. I have never written any music.
15. Maybe he is a jazz guitarist..
16.
How old is your head?
The same age as the rest of his body I should imagine.
17. Is it only the single bassists that get this. Are you sure it is not from doing something else?
18. Might be worth reading up on old threads such as... 19. If I'm early enough (10.00pm - 1.00am), Stephen Nolan on Five Live. Been listening since it was Late Night Curry with Edwina Curry
20. I remember watching Percy with the Liverpool Scene in O'Connors Tavern in the late 60s, he was mind blowing then.
21. Sh*te. We have played this venue a few times before, they have their own PA so I just take my Hartke Kickback and DI straight in. Up to now there have been no problems. Last night they had the DJ doing the sound, he couldn't mix pollyfilla, no bass out front and not for the want of telling him, I even turned my amp down so it could not be heard out front but still no response. As soon as our last number was done my bass was off, amp was off and coat was on, and the DJ was shouting to the crowd "do you want more" to the response of "Yes". I said to the band I'd had enough but was persuaded to come back on and do two more songs. When we were stripping down the drummer said he could hear no bass at all when I came back on, I told him it was because I couldn't be bothered turning my amp on. There was no problem with the house music though, that was thundering. Next time I will be turning up with a bigger rig. Edited for spelling.
22. Just watched the full episode here... http://www.watchcart...e-8-covercraft/
23.
I used to have a pair of traveller 102P. I can't answer your question regarding weight but I will say that the shape/size and handle position made them very easy to carry if that helps. They sound good too. Frank.
Now that is a feature that may be worth having.
24.
During the verses, I contemplate all the adulation I will receive when everyone present notices that I play the solo part correctly, complete with the open A rhythm, which so many leave out.
Being completely unaware of them in the first place
25. What does the "ground fault" indicate?
