Is it? I'd certainly agree that the RGT wouldn't want somebody like that as a member and would look to remove him from their list if this could be established beyond reasonable doubt, but my recollection of RGT membership is that it has procedures in place to prevent someone like this gaining membership in the first place - which would render such rules unnecessary. Once a tutor is a member, getting rid of them is quite difficult IIRC. (To be fair, I resigned my membership when I retired from teaching about 5 years ago so my information isn't up to date.) It's a very picky little technical point that doesn't affect the main topic at all, but all the same...
Just had a look at the area where you have to state what level of competency and grading you believe you would be able to teach to. And blow me you're right. It just says "over reporting could lead to a loss of reputation" But only if people report poor tutors I guess. Kind of undermines the purpose of belonging to an association such as RGT if people aren't honest about their level of competency and there are no means of checking and challenging false statements. I have enjoyed many benefits of belonging to RGT, it would be a shame if it's reputation is undermined by a few.

A couple of thoughts. Ask a potential teacher if they have lessons. I like tutors that are prepared to undergo personal/professional development, it shows a level of humility, accountability, a willingness to be a student themselves and are open to learning new approaches to teaching. In response to a previous post:- If an RGT tutor who advertises Grade 8 lessons, openly admits that they can't prepare a student to grade 2 then they should be reported to RGT, it is a breach of membership.

Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse. Plus...Make sure whoever does final mix isn't smoking anything "herbal........" Been sent many a final mix swimming in reverb mush, which probably sounded great at 2 a.m. !?! -

Nice warm tube pre with mute, plenty of headroom: 300 watts @ 8ohm 500 @ 4 ohm and lots of tonal variation with the EQ, VPF and VLE controls. MarkBass quality build. A few surface marks only. Comes in aluminium case and I'll include a neutrik speakon/Jack lead. Looks very pretty when powered up with the lights in between each module. £350 posted in UK. I am open to offers and very interested in trading px with a digitech jamman stereo or vocalist pedal such as harmony g or to helicon. Pics below.
I guess the "professional" answer would be "Counting"
No, the professional would be adjusting their music stand...... -
On the clip I saw, I thought the bass sounded great. And quite a groovy bassline
Mate you're skating on thin ice round here with comments like that....

Being able to recognise by ear, intervals, chord progressions and the "quality" of a chord (minor/major/dom7/etc) has been the single most useful thing for me when being asked to play with others, particularly for the first time. I read, but have only been asked to read dots once in 35 years. I'm afraid to say as I hate musicals, I tend not to go for pit work, as I'm likely to walk out the moment someone starts to sing what they should just @**#$ say. All the Jazz stuff I do is with chord charts, as I tend only to play standards, and not the more grown up high brow stuff. I think Doddy is right, reading gives you more options. If you can't read then being able to hear and recognise what is being played can be quite handy too.
