1. £350 + pp Sudden and unexpected circumstances have led me to sell some gear. First off is this, which I still can't believe I'm letting go, but bills need to be paid, food needs to be bought. I bought this lovely L2000 which had a nice pick-guard fitted in a Stingray style. However, I found the neck so uncomfortable I was not enjoying playing it. But I liked the tonal variation the eq/pups offered. So I had a slimmer neck fitted by a local luthier who does my set ups and repairs...the nut width is 36mm. It has black machineheads and string tree fitted. As the original neck had an extra fret, the replacement was too short for correct scale length, so he made a small block to put in the heel/pocket. He then sprayed the block to match the sunburst finish. The headstock has a ding at the top The bass is a pleasure to play, gets lots of compliments from studio and live engineers for its sound. And other bassists love playing it. I called it my Leo bass, as it has a bit of everything Mr F was involved with, from fender style neck through Musicman and G&L. If you wanted to replace the neck with a G&L, Derek made no modification to the body itself, in order that this could be easily done. I spent a lot of money getting the bass to my spec, but am aware that Tributes go for much less than they are "worth" compared to other makes. But I would say £350 is a reasonable deal, and a lot less than it cost me overall, but please feel free to make offers, especially if you put cash in my hand. Comes with a case, so am willing to post @ £15 No doubt, like my EA cab, I will pester whoever ends up with this to sell it back when my circumstances change! I'm in north Dorset, but am in Bristol midweek if you want to meet up within a reasonable distance. Thanks, John
2. After any trades? 2x10 BFM. I'm about 60 mins from Southampton John
3. Stevie, I'd be very interested too if you don't get round to sending this to Bigwan. John
4.
I have no idea what GLWTS means, but thanks!
:-) Great Long Winded Thread Starter?? Or..... Good luck with the sale!
5. These 80's SGs are seriously good guitars, and IMHO wonderfully consistent, in terms of build quality. I can't remember owning a "duff" yamaha guitar or bass. GLWTS.
6.
This is my old amp and £200 is a bargain!
Agreed, its what I paid for it, plus I've added some (needed) wheels :-) Just brought it back from 2 different rehearsals today, its a wee monster this thing.
7. SOLD, move on now, nothing to see here. Picked this up from Beedster recently. It's a 300 watt combo with 2x8" drivers that were replaced, making it a 4ohm load into the speakers, so you get the full 300 watts. Twin channel, with one channel designed for acoustic/ piezo instruments like double bass, with feedback control Mute switch, 9 band graphic and bass/mid shape/treble control. The amp is removable so can be used with another cab. It's unbelievably well made, and built like a tank, and this is where its been my undoing. It's soooo heavy for such a small footprint. As soon as I got it I fitted some heavy duty castors with locking front wheels, which makes it easier to manoeuvre. But my back isn't what it used to be, so have reverted back to Markbass head and separate cabs. I've gigged with it, and despite the small drivers, it has great projection and full bodied sound. The adjustable horn is very useful. The signal to the DI out is very hot. It had good complements on the sound from band members. I'll weigh it sometime and get dimensions too. £200 or may trade for an 8 ohm cab Any questions feel free to ask. I'm in north Dorset, and can travel as far as Basingstoke, Bristol, Bournemouth or Exeter for a meet up. Cheers, John
8. Ok Andy, I've got a mate near Tonbridge, might check if he's up for swinging by your way. I'll PM if there's a way. Cheers, John
9. Ok Phil, if things don't work out with the whole rig, let me know. Just after a couple of 8 ohm cabs really. Any idea at this stage what you'd want for cabs alone? John
10. If you could move Kent a little nearer to Dorset I'd have these. You don't head west ever do you? John
11. Hi Phil, Couple of questions. Would you be up for selling the cabs on their own? Would Bristol be too far for a meet up? Thanks John
12. Colour me interested Rich, I can wait till after 13th. John
13. Brian bought some pickups from me. Quick payment, great comms, no hassle deal. Thanks. John
14. Duncan bought some machineheads from me. Stress free transaction, good chap to do business with. Thanks.
15.
Clarky's............? This is one of the few things I've owned that hasn't also been owned by Mark Keep in mind John that your is 4ohm having had a driver upgrade. Not sure if the head will run below 4ohm comfortably, but at least you're getting the full output into the current drivers C
Blood and sand! Sorry Chris.....mind you, it wouldn't have surprised me if young Clarky had owned it, as you said :-) Forgot about the 4ohm load into the 2 eights. That puts me out of the running then. John
16.
Thanks for your message John, unfortunately we won't be splitting the combo
No problem. Best wishes with the sale. I'm very pleased with the Delta, quality feel about it and pretty indestructible construction too!
17. Ooooh! If you ever think of splitting the extension cab, let me know. I now have Clarky's 2x8 combo. I'm in south west so not too far. John
