Another thumbs up for Mark. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse.....I don't know how the man affords to eat :-) I even had enough change for a celebratory sausage roll after I paid.......perhaps I should have shared it with him? Thanks Mark! John

It's pretty much like a Hohner Jack, with a P pup. They're nice little basses, don't see why this shouldn't be?

Hides the headstock and excludes Rockbass from the main title....lots of bidders, wonder how many read the description before bidding?

Bought a 6 string off Ash, nice easy deal. Item perfectly described, packaged well and great communication all the way through. Cheers, John

Andy, do you not like your LM Tube head? A 115 cab with that head would seem a good solution as the amps are small and portable. I see you already have a 115 trace cab, so are you looking to get 2 15 speakers under an amp eventually? The GK Neo 115 have a good rep. I think they may do a combo with a neo too.
I get my strings direct from Stick Enterprises. I have used bass strings and the odd guitar string in an emergency but other than for the very outer strings on each side guitar strings just aren't long enough. I've got a bunch of emails from Stick Ent. and Mark at Warr Guitar about gauges if you want me to find them? +1!
I basically bought a load of guitar strings at the gauges recommended by Kevin. I've put the Krappy up for sale, with accompanying terrible video demonstrating that it exists and works. But I might get some strings from Stck Enterprises, might make me change my mind. Thanks.
Defo post a link to it in this thread! I'd love to have a listen/watch
You asked for it! Please note: this is purely to demonstrate that the instrument exists and that it works, it is not a demonstration of proper technique or "how to play the Krappy and get laid". Apologies to all tappers out there for this crime against your craft. http://youtu.be/v_iQYezOPqs john

Krappys 10 string Stick/touchstyle/tapper. Since getting this I have added the following to the instrument. New strings as per gauge recommended by kevin, a gig bag, a new strap, 2 splitter leads for the 2 pickup inputs, dot markers marking the Chapman Stick intervals, and a Behringer X V amp pedal (boxed and PSU) so you can make pretty noises on the treble pickup. I'll also include a sheet with Scale, chord and arpeggio diagrams so you can get playing. There are some extra dot markers so you can place them where you'd rather have them. Here's a link to Krappys web site http://www.krappyguitars.com/touchstyle.html Kevin doesn't claim to make sleek exotic instruments, so it's no Fodera in its finish. They are quirky, but functional, and they seem very popular over in the USA. This was made for the original owner to spec and the sound is great. There is at least one other Krappy owner in uk on BC who waxes lyrical about his. I paid £350 for the instrument alone, collected. I'll post this with all the above extras for £299 as I've pulled the trigger on summat else. John

SOLD Markbass/TC Electronics Rig. LMII and RS212 SOLD

That is the coolest bass I've seen for a while. Action looks like you'll need to get a bus to the fretboard, so probably not suitable for a beginner. But, worth a punt Ash, even if you need to do some work on the truss rod, which may be fine anyway! John

Thanks Spike, I've signed up to cafesaxaphone, as per your recommendation, seems quite friendly place. John

Ok, managed to get info from Kevin on gauges. He also sent me some scale, diatonic modes and chord diagrams when he realised I was a noobie! What a nice fella. Bought some new strings, and have put them on. Need to tweak truss rod a bit to get a flatter board, but it's ok. I'm approaching this as a completely different instrument, so it's going to be an interesting journey. I may post a "(slow) progress video blog"....or post it in the for sale section, depending how frustrated I get!

Hi, I posted a for sale thread in "other items" in for sale section a week or two back http://basschat.co.uk/topic/184700-2-alto-saxaphones-1-x-selmer-cigarcutter-and-a-clarinet-for-sale/page__hl__saxaphones__fromsearch__1 for a friend, but just wondered if anyone here can recommend a sax chat type forum...."sax chat line"? that I could post these to? I've tried one, but I had to post a minimum number of posts before placing an add......understandable, but what do I chat about? I know nothing about saxes.....but then again I know nothing about bass, but I'm managed to post loads of crap here. Thanks for any help,
By "Chapman" tuning I assume you mean the "Classic" 10 string tuning (five melody strings in descending 4ths and five bass strings in ascending 5ths). THIS Your best bet is to get in touch with Krappy & find out what they recommend.
Indeed I shall, thanks Rhys.

I've taken the leap into touchstyle with a 10 string Krappy. I'm currently looking at getting new strings for it. It's in Chapman tuning (which in itself confusing at first, but I think my brain is getting used to it). Anyone give me any ideas on strings, or at least gauges, as I can't find anything on t'internet other than Möbius site. Looking forward to making some horrid noises, and calling it prog jazz :-)
