1.
Kind of like a woman with an Adams Apple and big hands.
That's Dorset girls for you... Quite enjoy a 5 string now and again, I keep one for occasional use, but after 30 years of 4 strings I find them a bit alien. If you want to borrow one for a more sustained try out, give me a shout.
2. Ah my old squeeze. Nice bass, excellent mods, lovely neck and gert pretty. Best wishes with the trade.
3.
and if we could get a few people to bring there rigs and pedals etc! then be pretty fun day!
Best part of a get together when people bring their rigs and guitars. Great chance to see, hear and play gear that you've not seen or heard before. Also if you've got something you're looking to sell or trade bring em along.
I'd be interested to showcase my Fretbuzz :-)
Sounds good.....I'd also be interested in your Harley's! ;-)
4. Workshop on dancing girls is mandatory. See if any local shops/distributor reps will donate some "bits" for a prize draw, either to cover costs or donate to BC. Shop that would are happy to provide some instruments/back line to demo? Local tech or luthier for "set up and instrument care" workshop? Any local virtuoso or working bass players who could do master class, q&a? House band would be great, maybe with a prearranged set list with chord charts. A prize draw could pay for the bands time. I found that you need to give people as much notice as poss, and try a Sunday, as Saturdays tend to be "gigging day" for a lot of people. Just some suggestions. John
5. Guy local to me wanted one of these after playing my B4, which was yours BB.
6.
sounds great but last time i checked Bournemouth aint in the South West!
Pedant warning... According to postcode district maps Dorset is officially south west :-) It's a huge area though, and I understand what you mean. I organised a south west bash couple of years ago, but ended up calling it Dorset bass bash as Devon and Cornwall found it too far! BottomE, if you're up for getting more details on costs, availability, etc I'm happy to help with organising.
7. 100 club, haven't played there for a few years. Still a dive, but great history. One of the nicest sound guys you could meet. Good sweaty gig for band and fans alike.
8. Due to change in circumstances this cab is for sale. Bought for rehearsal space and used as a stand in when my main cab went down recently. The covering is scruffy in parts and the badge is missing, but otherwise it's in perfect working order and structurally sound. It has the square handles. Currently on eBay, but would let go for £130 collected here, or meet up near to north Dorset.

10.
I would love to come see you guys - haven't been to the 100 Club for aaages... I won't know until tomorrow, due to a possibly overlapping engagement, but if I can make it, I'll be there.
Be sure to say hi if you make it BJ I'm easy to spot, ...big, ugly, with purple bass round my neck..:-)
11. Be nice to meet any BCers that can make it. Support bands look great.
12.
Ohh, that sounds messy and I don't want to get blood on my club. It's a nightmare to get off
:-)
13. Do you mean if we all clubbed him at the same time?
14.
Condoms and a healthy sense of optimism
We have a shared band one.....unused...
15.
When you say fuses, what type of fuses are you referring to? Do you have a set of fuses that will fit a variety of amps? Or are they pretty standard? When you say DI, are you saying that even if you are going to be playing the house backline and PA you still bring your own DI box in case? Thanks
I take spare 5 Amp fuses for the amp's mains lead ("kettle" lead). I take a DHA DI box, in case I have a fail with my backline and have to go direct through a house PA. The DHA has eq & volume pots, so I retain some control over sound, and I can't guarantee the quality of some in house DI boxes. My amp has DI out and, to date, most if not all sound guys take the signal straight from there, rather than a DI box link from amp's input. Hope that answers your question.
16. All the usual spares:- leads, strings, fuses, batteries, pliers, screw drivers, DI, etc but also:- Sharpie and A4 paper (in case some bugger changes the set list, or to mark some possible last min changes to an arrangement) Deodorant (for before and after gig) Hand sanitising gel (some venue changing rooms are a health hazard) Business cards (never miss an opportunity) Comfy shoes to drive home in But only 1 bass.....
17. I would take this off you, but yer too far away. I need a new cab too as mines buggered.
18. "On the level" was the first LP I ever bought, pretty much wore it out. Lancasters playing, I believe, reflected his general attitude in life, an aggressive no nonsense little bugger, not averse to the occasional snotting.....perfect! :-)
19. I don't really get why these don't fetch more money. I agree, the necks are very nice. And so light. Gigged one, through a Genz rig, for 12 months, stupidly sold it to fund gas for a 5 string.
20. Did this sell? If not I could be tempted. PMd
