When you say fuses, what type of fuses are you referring to? Do you have a set of fuses that will fit a variety of amps? Or are they pretty standard? When you say DI, are you saying that even if you are going to be playing the house backline and PA you still bring your own DI box in case? Thanks
I take spare 5 Amp fuses for the amp's mains lead ("kettle" lead). I take a DHA DI box, in case I have a fail with my backline and have to go direct through a house PA. The DHA has eq & volume pots, so I retain some control over sound, and I can't guarantee the quality of some in house DI boxes. My amp has DI out and, to date, most if not all sound guys take the signal straight from there, rather than a DI box link from amp's input. Hope that answers your question.

Classic line up of Status Quo to reform
oldslapper replied to PaulWarning's topic in General Discussion
"On the level" was the first LP I ever bought, pretty much wore it out. Lancasters playing, I believe, reflected his general attitude in life, an aggressive no nonsense little bugger, not averse to the occasional snotting.....perfect! :-) -

It's a bit of a home coming gig for us as HK's haven't played London for a good few years.

Hi Mike, I'm really after something fretless with a string or two more......however, I'm an ibby fanboy, so if you can send some pics to I'd be happy to consider. And a meet up half way between you and I isn't out of the question? John

Bought this a while back as an unfinished project. This is an Ibanez Musician bass through neck, with ebony board. A previous owner took pickups and electrics out, re-filled the pickup routing to take PJ pups and the pot holes to only take 3 pots. The headstock was bizarrely reshaped to resemble a Wa@**ck and the machine heads replaced. The body, neck and headstock was then refinished in a dark purple (not a bad job). Anyway, this came to me with some active EMGs and an unknown and untested electrics. The battery cover, and electrics cover needed refitting, as did the pots and pickups. The pup routing was pretty horrid, filled with chip board and foam. I bought some new Di Marzio PJ pups, pots, jack socket and brass nut, handed the whole thing over to Tom Higgins a local luthier who brought the bass back to life. It's passive, VVT, but has the battery compartment if someone wanted to install an active circuit. I've chucked a fair few pounds at this to make into a very nice playable instrument and I'll make a considerable loss at £200 It's been gigged, so has plenty of scratches on the body, and there's a a small bit on the neck where the finish wasn't perfect. But otherwise it's structurally sound and solid. The pups are very nice, the board is fast with lovely solid feel to the ebony, and neck is straight and true. it's heavy mind, I have a USA jazz that feels much lighter. String spacing is traditional P wide in feel to me. Great for double thumbing! Also happy to meet up somewhere not too far away.
