    Probably will regret this but 5 strings always end up annoying me, rehearsed and gigged with this but I just prefer a 4 string. This is a USA G&L 5 string, single pickup, with series parallel switch, active passive switch. Bass and treble work in passive as well as active mode (very handy). Huge & flexible sound. String through body, black and rosewood board. Great condition, one small ding on top of body which is hardy noticeable and one small one at top of headstock shown in pictures. Comes in G&L hard case, strung with Ernie Ball flats currently, has had a new switchcraft jack socket fitted.     Does this have an S1 switch on the volume pot? Also are you only after 4 strings, or do 5 strings float your boat? Thanks, John

    Someone will get a ridiculous bargain. I have the 5 string version, it's got a huge sound and the tone controls work in passive as well as active. Glaswegians.....go buy.

    Man that's a great price for these underrated cabs, you're too far away otherwise I'd take them. And i don't even need more cabs..

    Yup, I like them. Strung both basses with them when I got them, although I had a set on a Bassix EUB before, so I knew whet they could do. I moved one bass on strung with a set and the new owner was very happy too. I was most surprised though at how much volume they produce on my remaining old knackered ply. Recorded with it last week with a line from the piezo and an ambient mic at some distance. The engineer didn't use the piezo in the end. I've had 4 sets, all consistent volume and playability. I'm no expert though and don't do the arco thing, so you're only getting my clumsy opinion. I used to use innovation honeys, which were nice, but these seem to give me "more"......but then more of me probably isn't a good thing..:-{ John

    Pete, The initial bass purchase is often just the start. So I concur with Mr. Back, your budget should include purchase of bass, then possible/probable set up, string, pickup purchase and a decent bag, or case. I hope you're pockets are deep, or you've still got both kidneys, either way it can prove an expensive journey, but worthwhile. 6 basses, 5 pickup/pre's, multiple string purchases later and I've finally settled on what I play. Obviously there are those who's initial purchase has been "it" with no further outlay required......b@**¥#%:s! Often some nice instruments on sale here. Best wishes with your search

    No one want a new set for £50 posted? I bought 2 sets here earlier tis year, they went on both basses as i love these, low tension, and they sound particularly good on my old ply. I've only got the ply left and it's not getting played much theses days, so this new unused spare set up for grabs. Audio available.
