1. As above. Great little pedal, has 3 different synth settings (2 synth and an auto wah) with 2 decay settings, so very flexible. Home studio use only. Solid metal casing, sturdy little bugger, in good condition. £35 posted
  2. Here we have a Sheridan Les Paul copy. These are aimed at competing with Epiphone's copy range, except they have EMG Hz pups in and they are pretty hot. Anyway, I bought it as I liked the sound and thought I would use it for teaching. But I still pick up my tele by default, so it's been hanging on my wall for 2 months since buying it and I could do with raising some cash. So it's yours for £99 delivered up to 1 hour from my home in North Dorset,. No case, or gig bag, but it will be packed securely in a box. Pics tonight, but it's this. 6.
I've sent the seller a nice message enquiring about the bass ....I'll let you know their answer (if indeed they do answer).
Here's the reply to my fairly detailed questions about the bass: "Hi, thank you very much for your detailed enquiry. I hadn't seen this one before either, but on asking the question to my supplier, unfortunately it seems we've missed the boat on this model as it has now gone. I'm sourcing an alternative now, but if you would like me to look for a specific type, colour, make, style, I can do the leg work for you. Please drop me a reply asap as I will need to end this item today." Mmmm....there were 5 in stock yesterday when I made the enquiry.........they must have all ran out the shop like street traders when they heard the sirens! Amazing what people will try innit

  9. Saw this and quite fancied one for a backup 5 string. Not seen these before though. Will contact the seller at some point, but thought I'd ask on here first. 12.
I have a yamaha BB415 that I could trade if you want.
Mate of mine has an active one of these, nice solid bass. PM'd
  13. Needed a 5 string for a brief project I'm involved in. Ok, so bought this on a complete whim as I like the sound of the Hohner Jack bass and fancied a 5 string version, couldn't find one so tried the B2AV. However, this baby has had the active pre amp removed by a previous owner who disconnected the tone control in doing so. So you've got 2 volume controls to adjust any variation in tone. I've been playing it all night through my LMII and it sounds great, rear pup is very "finger funky" and the front has a P tone (it's a passive Jazz config so it should I guess). I could live with the sound as it is, I've searched on line to see bout changing the pre amp, had some good advice on here about reconnecting the tone control. But the bottom line is I can't get on with the bass physically, it's tiny, I'm huge! The neck seems to be very long, no matter where I put the strap, so no matter what I did with the pre amp, I'm still not going to be happy playing it. Condition: The previous owner didn't like the "Hohner" name as they've removed it from the body and pups (although you can still see it on the pups close up). There's a few marks on the back of the body too. It does feel a very substantial bass though, even though it's light. Feels/sounds like it's got new strings on it, light gauge my guess and it has a nice action to my taste. Comes with a hard case. Maybe suit someone who gets on with this shape and is prepared to take care of the preamp. Here are some pics taken with my phone tonight. Happy to put some more up in day light. Not after cash, just a trade for a bass with a body please. 4 or 5 string, not that fussed as I have one main bass that I use all the time and any additional will be for back up. I've borrowed a mates warwick 5'er for the recording......probably should have done that in the first place. I'm in Dorset and can drive 45 mins or so to meet up/deliver.

Si Pm'd me when I was arranging the Dorset bass bash to offer some brilliant advice and to question my sanity. He didn't need to, he just did. A genuine man. Irreplaceable. I'm still bit shocked to be honest. But thanks Si, you will be missed greatly. But at least we've got some wonderful posts to remember you by. John

  23.
That's my point. IMO, it has to rest with your fellow musicians. In the case of your jazz band, your friends are clearly happy enough to work with you: it may be you have good time and a good sound and they feel able to wait for the rest to come. If your time was all over the place, you would probably have known about it already. But you have to proceed with some caution because, sometimes, the 'old school' can be delusional and project all sorts of kudos on to your playing that isn't deserved. I used to play with an old guy a long time ago who thought I was the dogs danglies. Not because I was but because he thought I was. He was a lovely guy and very enthusiastic (he apparently turned down a guitar gig with The Shadows before they became famous and has been kicking himself ever since) but his standards were very low. If you are surrounded by people like him, it can distort your own perspective on your playing (small town hero kind of thing). But, if they are credible players, they can take you forward absolutely. As for yardstick, in my case there was a bl**dy great elephant in the room. I didn't need a ruler .
The parts I have to play are pretty simple, 2 to the bar really, the occasional tri-tone substitution to make things interesting, so probably not as demanding as the stuff you play Bilbo. But as you said, I passed the audition because of my feel and timing apparently. And I'm slightly exaggerating my "noobness".
  24.
It's not just a jazz thing. There are players and bands in every genre that have delusions of adequacy. The big difference though,is that in rock music you can become very successful by being very mediocre.
Good point. I like the "delusions of adequacy", brilliant. John
