I’ve been looking at suitable couriers to send a classical guitar, in a hard case and box with packing materials inside to France from UK. I’d rather the insurance covered both damage and loss, but can’t seem to find anything for less than £79. Then the buyer will need to pay taxes on value of guitar. Seems a very expensive business. Anyone had good experience of doing this at a more reasonable cost? Thanks for any help. John

Maybe this is for repairs and technical? If so please move. However, I’m after an Xtender and need a bit of advice about which model to look for. I’m thinking B2. But it’s for this headstock with Gotoh lollipops in. But I’m not fussed if it’s not a lollipop head on one tuner tbh. Is it literally a case of just measuring everything and seeing which model fits?

@Chris Stitt Chris bought a line6 110 combo from me. Paid quickly and has been patient whilst waiting for delivery. Nice guy to deal with.

Mike made me buy a fretless bass, not only that he made me pay in instalments, plus he insisted on bringing said bass to my house prior to payment. He is a cruel man! 😂 As usual, a pleasure to deal with! 😎

What would be your bass gig of choice from all of history?

I’d swap with my mate Alan. -
Quotation marks removed. Bit “unnecessary” 😂

Most church music groups consist of volunteers. It’s set up to remove any need to improve, as they’re doing everyone a favour by serving. Very difficult to mange expectations. I got out of dodge a few years ago, stuck myself in the sanctuary with a guitar, looper pedal and book of psalms and ancient prayers. Never felt more at home and free from politics.

I’ve never known that conversation go well, in or out of church. Once someone has “enjoyed” themselves with a mic for any length of time (without an intervention), that ship has sailed, the bridge has been crossed, the rubicon has been leapt, reason has left the building, and so on….

I take that back. They’re really crap… I spotted a couple of music stands!!!

Currently watching Krauss and Plant. Fabulous. On another note. Why do people insist on bring stupidly high flags to watch a gig? I’d be having lots of “interventions” with flag bearers if I couldn’t see the acts I’ve paid to see.

Nope not available on catch up yet. Don’t know why, maybe Macca’s people want to approve content? Just a guess, can’t think of any other reason as most other shows are available.

I’ve been hooked on these for a few months now. It’s a rabbit hole. Some observations: Difference between women and mens’ reactions to some videos were noticeable to me (yes I know, I know…move on…) The difference was most noticeable with first time reactions to well delivered, emotive performances of well written songs. Male reactions often appeared to be emotionally “stunted” or confused, and tried to dissect or make sense of what they had observed. Female reactions were often far more emotionally embracing, not trying to “make sense”, but rather allow themselves to enjoy the experience. Here’s an example: watch to the end. I appreciate that some may find this observation offensive, or gender something or another. That’s a debate you can have if you want. I love watching people react to music at gigs too. Maybe I’m just a voyeur or summat. Weirdo. 🫣

Surprising little packages these. Used mainly in rehearsals and some recordings. Kept up with loud drummer in my trio who commented on how loud it was, and it was only half way on master volume. Happily use this in gig situation as it also has XLR out. Very flexible with some useable presets and the headphone/MP3 inputs provide a great practice facility. Heres a review https://www.musicradar.com/reviews/guitars/line-6-lowdown-studio-110-26292 The cover is “bobbling” in places. It’s small enough to post, so if you can’t pick up or meet around Bath/Bristol surrounds then I’ll get some packing materials and courier it to you for an extra £10.
